The "Ships: By May 7th" information thread

Ordered on April 28th and as of now it still says, May 7th for the ship date.

Hopefully it will change to a earlier date, but I doubt it.

and i also ordered a case online and it says that they wont ship it untill May 13th. thats really stupid cause i would have my ipad for almost a week before the case gets here. I might result to drive 1 hr and go buy one at a store than wait and let my iPad get all scratched up.

what case did you get? some of them don't ship for weeks
 
So, it seems that the 16GB 3G Ipads have started to ship for those who ordered after April 18th. Anyone order a 64GB and if so, have you received a shipping notification?

I ordered mine on April 20th and still no news.
 
any news on iPad 32 Gig 3G ordered after april 20th? i ordered 1 on April 29th and it still says not yet shipped
 
I'd slit my wrists if I had to wait for 5/7 shipping when you can walk into a store and buy one.

Haha that's reassuring to know.

Unfortunately I live overseas, so that's not possible. The shipping service I used also missed the deadline for April 30th delivery, despite me having placed the order on time. Annoying, but what can I do (apart from slit my wrists...)
 
So I looked on the UPS website and this is what it had to say about Worldwide Express shipping. Hopefully this means it will be here by no later than noon.

I've got to wait up to a week for Apple to ship my new iPad but they were sure pretty quick about charging my credit card! :D

Well you got to love UPS, it is 4:30 monday morning and th tracking still shows on time for delivery today but it hasnt seen one location since 5/1.

So i am going to guess it wont be delivered today and go to work.

Thank you for updating us. Please let us know when you receive your shipping notifications. I'm still (impatiently) waiting for mine. Looks like the 32GB 3G Ipads are the next off the rank.

same here I ordered april 19 32gb 3g. I am prepared for shipment and awaiting my tracking #. They have also taken the money out of my checking account.

For me Mine went to Prepared For shipment on wednesday night and got the shipping info late friday night
 
I too, now have "Prepared for Shipment" (happened last night)...I ordered a 32GB Wi-Fi + 3G on April 19th...now it's just a matter of waiting another day or two for it to ship :eek:
 
...ordered a 32GB April 11 cancelled it and ordered a 64GB on April 23 and status now is Prepared for Shipment...any chance this get to my door before the 7th?:)
 
Should have known UPS would not deliver as they said on the tracking page.

Scheduled delivery was today. And it said that until 10 minutes ago. Now it says

CHEK LAP KOK, HK "Delivery Exception " "The Airline OFF-Loaded Packages "

Called ups and they said they have idea and cant help me at this time.

They should have stuck with FedEx like they used on the initial Ipad 3g shipments last week.
 
I ordered a 3g on the morning of April 19th which gave me a shipping status of 'ships by May 7th'.

I had elaborate plans in place with a friend, my husband, and myself for the 30th to stand in line at an Apple store and different Best Buys in order to get a 3g. I did not want to wait almost two weeks after the release date to get one when I could get it so much sooner. Once I had one in hand I was going to cancel my order.

The morning of the 30th my ship date changed to shipped with a delivery date of May 4th. I said forget it to waiting in line since I could wait a few extra days. But it is such my luck that it shipped that same day. :p

Saturday the shipping info changed to a delivery date of today, May 3rd. It still showed being in CN and HK so I was skeptical but hopeful.

This morning the status changed to "Exception" with no delivery date. The notes show that the airline off loaded packages. I am assuming that means they are now in customs..

Does anyone know the usual time from that point to delivery? I am in the midwest. I would think tomorrow since the shipping is express.

That isnt supposed to happen. That means the pane they were on for the USA, was in HK and took the packages off there.


And since it is an exception i doubt we will see our ipads before wednesday or thursday
