So Saturday Fedex says they have to attempt delivery and can’t hold it. Call Verizon says they should be able to hold it. I’ll wait until it leaves the hub and either go online or call to switch to pick up

The person that said they were able to set up for pickup said they had to call Verizon to have Fed Ex do it.

its been 5 days and im already sick of waiting 11/15 delivery date seems like so far away. thinking of just sticking with my 8Plus 256Gb lol

They can definitely call FedEx I have had endless reps do it. I had two do it yesterday. One wasn’t even aware they did it but she went with it and she’s the one that got it taken care of for me. But again your experience is going to vary. Yes you can call with a general question and get 5 different answers. So try again.

Three attempts, no dice. The last rep said "we see you've called several times about this". She called Fedex and said it wasn't possible prior to the first attempt. No clue...

The person that orginally mentioned such ticket was referring to arranging for pickup up instead of delivery.

Correct. The same system is used to communicate with FedEx for a variety of issues: hold a package, change an address, confirm/investigate delivery, start a claim for lost or damaged package, etc. I never processed a request to change an address. I knew it was possible but didn't know what it entailed as far as delays and such. I did process the occasional hold request, though, and those were pretty straight forward and what I could speak to.

Beware unless your new address is at the same destination facility it will probably be delayed. I called and talked to fedex and they told me it would go to the first destination sorting facility and then get a new label and get sent to the new address. So expect a delay.

We only have one Express facility in the county. I called Fedex and they asked me to confirm the original address and the correct address and she confirmed the shipper updated it with them and also confirmed 11/3 delivery.

I’m thinking the other person got lucky and will be interesting if it really pans out.

We will find out shortly here. I will let you know either way. If not it would be the first time. But once it hits Pittsburgh I will be back on the phone before it arrives at my towns hub.

My iPhone X is currently sitting in Memphis right now for a 11/3 delivery... I had an issue with Verizon during checkout and had to change the delivery address. I called FedEx today and confirmed that they received the new address and it would be going to my new house.... however, she said she can't guarantee it will still be delivered 11/3 :(

The FedEx rep said it has something to do with their distribution centers, which got me thinking... where are all of Verizon's (or is it FedEx's) distribution centers? The phone was originally supposed to go to CA but now it will be headed to my new place in FL. If they were to use the same distribution center, why would it matter that it has to go to a different address since it couldn't even be shipped any sooner than it is now? She said there's a chance it could still arrive 11/3 but its not guaranteed ugh!! Hoping she is wrong!!

P.S. the FedEx rep said they aren't even allowed to touch the phone's until tomorrow night (11/2). I thought this was interesting for those of us who are hoping to see some movement on them tomorrow morning or sooner.

I'm surprised they can't touch the phones earlier. Surely not being able to move them until the night of 11/2 puts a huge financial burden on FedEx since they have to move a whole warehouse full of product overnight. It would be much more cost efficient to move them in batches on transports already headed out to local distro centers.

Can’t wait for Friday. Got my cases delivered today.

On a side note, my FedEx delivery person was using a Uhaul instead of a FedEx truck- said it was cheaper. They pay for their own trucks? Didn’t know that.

How does the silicone case feel? Does it slide in and out of pockets easily? Does it gather a lot of dust/lint?

One of our FedEx driver drives a Uhaul too! I've always thought it was the funniest thing.

Right? Even if they move them around the country so that they are closer to people/more dispersed for quicker delivery, its not like it would end up in the hands of consumers earlier. Interesting how much control Apple seems to have on this process.
