So I just got off the phone with a Verizon rep and she reassured me that my smart access line would still be $15, not $40. She said when you checkout it just doesn't show that promotion on the website. Hope this helps! I think as long as you stick with the same plan, you will still get that discount

Thanks for the additional confirmation because the plan i am on is great for my needs.

$65 for 10GB (after corporate discount)
5 smartphone lines at $15 a piece
1 Ipad line at $10

Thats a total of $150 (excluding taxes and fees, and no DPP)

There is a $30 upgrade fee when upgrading to iphone 8 when I buy from verizonwireless.com

Is there an $30 upgrade fee if I bought from apple.com? What if I bought a sim free iphone 8 and put in existing iphone sim card, do i get charge $30 upgrade fee?

I bought the Verizon 8 through Apple by upgrading on the iPhone upgrade program and I was billed the $30 upgrade fee.

It would be robbery if Verizon took the $30.00 from you and said fee was never disclosed to you in the user agreement.

In regards to the fee, I don't like it either. That is one of the reasons I will be buying directly from Apple.

You will be charged the $30 fee from Verizon on your next bill when you activate the new phone, even if you did not buy it from Verizon.

What if i buy a unlocked sim one direct from apple for my family member whos grandfathered and they just switch the sim from their iphone 6?

Will they get hit with fee and would they lose their plan?

Should not affect their plan, but they would see the $30 activation fee.

I was going to be a gift, but i dont think a random fee on their bill would be very nice lol. Oh well

Whats the difference between switching between two phones you own and a new phone? Is there a fee everytime now

I know some people switch between phones a lot for work

They instituted this $30 activation fee last year just prior to the iPhone 7 release. They are charging it every time you activate a device on their network.

I do not know if they waive this activation fee for business customers.

No, just when you buy a new phone. You can swap sims as much as you like afterwards. The phones ship with a new SIM card installed and you dial a code to tie that new SIM card to your account. Do not take the SIM card out of a new phone until you do this.

Address verification/autocomplete often over-writes suite numbers with Verizon for some reason, been doing that for years to me.

Great so do I need to correct it? That will re order my pre order. Unless it's ups. Going to ups store then but last year they used FedEx. Ugh.

Sorry for the rookie question. Ordered an 8+ for my Dad on his VZW account from my Apple store app. I paid for the tax on my card. Will shipping to his address be an issue with my card as billing? If so, do I just contact Verizon to make the temporary change?
If you bought through Verizon then it will ship to the address you receive your Verizon bill at. They won’t ship to any other address.

I can’t remember from past years, does it always say “delivery BY x/xx,” for those expected on release date, or has it said ON? Just wondering if it’s plausible to think it may arrive a day or two early rather than held by FedEx until the 22nd...

It will be held, unless a few slip through.

Apple really comes down hard on the carriers to not release early.

Do you think the 9/29 delivery dates will get bumped up? I don't feel like there's that many people ordering that they should get backed up that much

No you only get charged once. This is if you are upgrading and activating your sim card. If you buy a sim-free model and insert your old sim card in there, you will not get charged. I hope this make sense.

Yes they will. But not on pre-order or launch. But they eventually will. for 6S and 7 models typically 4 weeks after the initial launch is when apple released the sim free model. I don't know when exactly they will do that for the iPhone X being that demand will probably be high.

Is it really necessary to use the new sim? What if i use my old sim to avoid getting charged

The thing is apple ties the phone to the sim, so the phone will only activate with it.

Thats how i screwed myself last year, i used my dumb phone line and my iphone wouldnt work till i activated it on that line. So i got forced to change the line.
