I ordered as soon as pre orders went live. I still have not received my confirmation either but if I go to my account, I see that the order is there and expected delivery is 9/22. I saw that there were several people that did not receive their confirmation email either. It might take 24 hours before it shows up.

I ordered at 2:00 AM CDT and received confirmation 5 minutes later. Shocked me! I think last time I got it the following afternoon.

The last 3 pre-orders, I received confirmation within the hour but it took almost 12 hours before I got this confirmation. #FirstWorldProblems lol

I wonder when we will see some shipping activity.
My guess would be Monday or Tuesday

I think last year they started some on Sunday night, I wouldnt mind that.

i called up verizon and changed my order from iphone 8 64gb in silver to gold 256. guy told me that i would still be receiving it on the 22nd. got my new order confirmation, 29th :(

So I ordered from apple, two phones. I decided to order unlocked sim free ones. How does this work on Verizon? Do I just take the sim out of the 6s and 6 I have and put them in the 8?

The thing is apple ties the phone to the sim, so the phone will only activate with it.

Thats how i screwed myself last year, i used my dumb phone line and my iphone wouldnt work till i activated it on that line. So i got forced to change the line.

Hmm. That never happened to me. I was able to activate with my old sim from 6S+ in my 7+ last year. Wonder why it didn't work for u.

This thread is really quiet. I remember the last couple of years, this thread would be very active during pre-orders. Must be that most people are waiting on the X.

Yea... was debating on getting the x but my kids started school n I want to take better pics NOW n I'm ok with waiting for the second gen "x"
Same. I have a 7+ and preordered 8+ 256 GB so I'm not getting as MUCH of an upgrade as you are but like you, i'm perfectly okay with waiting for the 2nd gen X. Still looking forward to wireless charging, faster processor and more options with Portrait Mode.

Don't be surprised if that date moves up to the 22nd though. That happened a LOT last year.

8 Plus Gold 256GB

Ordered at 4am on launch day... delivery by 9/22. $40 per month 0% APR...

Upgrading from the 128GB 6s Plus. Not interested in the X... will let someone else beta test it for a year or two first... just like I did with the watch.

IMPORTANT for anyone who bought iPhone 7 last year and got the 650 promo credit /24 months

You can still buy the new iPhone8 or x. You just have to butt it full price. The device payment agreement stays active on the account and you continue to get the credits.

Just curious here, I have a 64 GB SE and for the hell of it went to Verizon's site to look at an iPhone 8, 64 GB. When I logged in it said my trade in value was $147, but then when I go to select the iPhone 8, at the top it says "Save up to $300 w/trade in and unlimited" and there is a place that says "See offer details." When I click on it, it lists the devices you can trade in and how much you get for them, and there it says the SE is $200. Not up to $200, and no distinction for size, it just says flat out that an iPhone SE is worth $200.

I asked CS on their online chat and of course they were clueless.

So which is it? And it looks like the way it works is if say the trade in is $200, then I effectively just reduce the $700 cost to $500 and pay that over 24 months, which would be a device payment of $20.79 a month?

Is this confirmed through Verizon ?

So the credit is applied to the line and not the device ? As long as the line is active for 24 months you get the credit ?

I'm curious because I have three lines with credit and one without, and would like to buy it at full price on the one without a credit but activate it on the one with a credit. I don't want to lose the credit.

I believe those are the values you receive if you're on their unlimitaled plan only.

The 'normal' trade-in value for your phone is $147. This applies to any phone you would upgrade to. That is option # 1.

There is an option # 2 specific to the iPhone 8 models. With those, VZW will instead give you $200 for your specific phone. They say "up to $300" with an asterisk no doubt. The asterisk is going to cover different phone models and what they'll give as well as the requirement of switching to unlimited data plan.

With either option, yes, the trade-in amount reduces the new phone's original cost and that new cost is used to calculate your monthly payment.
