So exactly. You can't do a new payment agreement bc that would require canceling the old one and therefore voiding the credit. You can however buy the phone in full and everything stays status quo. That's what I'm doing for the x.

Ordered Apple Watch 3 on the 15th, when the CSR rep asked if I wanted to upgrade my 6+ 64gb phone, I told him I was waiting for the X, he told me he could have my info all qued up in the system and would call me to confirm the order and get payment info to pay sales tax at 12:00 midnight when they go on sale. He asked me to text him with specifics on color and size which I did and he confirmed back. He also told me that my 6+ 64gb would fetch $399.00 trade in and they would apply 24 payment credits to my account or I could get it lump sum applied to my VZW account. I told him I wanted to buy two iPhone X phones outright with my CC at midnight and he said VZW would not allow that due to the $$ amount it would need to be charged to my VZW at which time I could pay it off in full. He said the sales tax would be collected up front. He also said if I wanted to buy phones outright I would need to do this through Apple?

Does this sound correct or legit?

Not at all. There is no way he can have you qued up in the system. If that's the case everyone would do that

He said he was compiling a list of customers and he would input that into the system right at midnight?

We have a local VZW salesman lives in our community and per him, they are doing this to get commissions.

I guess there is no way to order a Verizon IPhone 8+ without a Verizon account, even if you just want to pay the full price.

Actually not that crazy because that was exactly what they did for me for my 8+ at midnight Friday. The rep told me they were just told they could do this so I was first on her list. She did have all my information loaded and called me right at 12AM Pacific time. I thought this was great, no worrying about web pages not loading. I had been reading this forum as I waited her call and seeing those stating they were getting in prior to midnight, yet when I tired it the web page would not load which was what I experience in past pre sales on the web site. The whole process took less than 10 minutes from talking to the rep and getting my confirmation email from Verizon. Definitely the way to go.

Still seems odd that they would do that. I guess I'll call and share your story and grt a headstart on the X. Of course I didn't need preferential treatment to get the 8 +

Early awaiting my iPhone 8, 64GB space gray - pre ordered @ 3AM, expected for in store pickup on the 22nd...
 
I'm not at liberty to give out his number, he didn't say I could or couldn't but I just don't think it's the right thing to do, I know I wouldn't want my name and number shared on the web. And NO I will not pm it.

Really I will try calling and see what they say.
 
I remember last year that most people's bank accounts/credit cards started to get charged on Monday and Tuesday, so I expect that this year will be no different.

they seriously have a plane tracked carrying iphones? I didnt realize it was so serious.

Oh there will be spreadsheets we all enter our info in, track flights, cry when someone gets theirs before someone else that ordered later. It’s a blast on here but the 8 and plus has been dead. The X is when this place will come alive.

Ha ah I was going to say that. You won't get as much action this week as previous years but depending on what delivery dates we get for the X, this place will be NUTS
