I think you'll be able to track the order using the tracking number given to you once your order actually ships

Me too! It was a lot crazier last year lol mid week I'm guessing things will pick up

You don't track with that site, it's just a flight tracker. So if you look at the departure scan, arrival scans, etc once you get your tracking number, you can try to see which plane your phone was on etc.

Anyone going from a 6 or 7 to a 8 plus? I really want to like the size but of course worry. Thank goodness for the return period

I echo this. I had a 6 and a 6s and then last year I went to the plus. Getting the 8 plus. I have no regrets getting the bigger phone.

question about verizon device payment in store pickup preorder -

im leaning towards a silver 8, which is still available for friday. buuuut, im not entirely sure if i want black or silver having not seen them in person.

if i go ahead and complete the preorder process on a silver one (to make sure i can get one) and then get to the store on friday and like the black more, can i easily cancel the preorder? basically i want to know if anything at all happens/gets processed on verizons end before i actually go in to pick up the device. i dont want some hassle with verizon to reverse some half done preorder if i decide to cancel.

i did this, you will lose your spot for your preorder if you cancel. I order the silver originally and called the next day to the gold. my delivery date went from the 22nd to the 29th

id be fine with that, id only cancel if i went in to pick up the silver and the black was nicer, which is already pushed further out. at that point id accept having to wait.

i just want to know if something getting processed on verizons end happens at the time of finishing the in store pickup preorder on apples site, or not until i take actual delivery of a new phone.

My guess is because a lot of people are ordering from Apple directly via IUP - myself included. Just an assumption. Most of my family is doing the same vs going with Verizon.
 
Ordered from apple and they've finally put the charge through to my bank so no worries in going to pick it up Friday. Verizon offered me $160 trade in for my old iPhone but trade in sounded like such a hassle. I think I'll just use it as a back up pod or something.
 
Ordered my SG 8 on Friday morning. Still processing on verizon's website, but it's still early. Think we'll see an update around Tuesday/Wednesday.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's movement even tomorrow...but Tuesday would be a safer bet

This is a piece of cake for me. I work until midnight on the west coast, so I will have my phone, my work computer, and my iPad all tuned into the Apple Store and order as soon as they bring the site back up on whichever device gets through first.

She did have all my information loaded and called me right at 12AM Pacific time. I thought this was great, no worrying about web pages not loading. I had been reading this forum as I waited her call and seeing those stating they were getting in prior to midnight, yet when I tired it the web page would not load which was what I experience in past pre sales on the web site. The whole process took less than 10 minutes from talking to the rep and getting my confirmation email from Verizon. Definitely the way to go.

So my question is if the rep has the info for multiple people, he can only call one at a time. You were first on his list so it worked out for you. What if you had been 5th or 50th on his list? That would take a bit of time to call each person. Would your spot still be reserved from the “pre-queue” and then it wouldn’t matter how long it took for them to call or would it be the same as if you waited an hour or more to place your order?
That’s a risky bet if you want your phone on delivery day.

Thank you! I would probably upgrade no matter what but I feel like I truly am by getting a Plus. I'll wait until next year to try out the X nest generation :)

Yeah when I switched to the plus sized phone, I couldn't believe how I went without it. Battery life has been incredible!!

Whether you like the plus size or not is very personal. I can't stand the plus personally. I know many friends and family members who love their plus however.

There are many forum members here who have gone from a "regular" to a plus and loved it. There are also many forum members who spent anywhere from 1 week to 1 year with a plus and decided to "downgrade" for better portability/pocketability. There are literally thousands of posts on this forum where people have used both and voiced their preference for one or the other. Point is, it's very personal.

Good luck with your switch! If you don't like it, you can always return it. I believe Verizon's website is advertising a 30-day return policy for web orders of the iPhone.
