For those of you wondering about the status of address changed packages, I have two cases to tell you about:
My Phone & My Dad's Phone (same package)
1) On Sunday I called in and requested an address change for a shipment containing both my and my dad's phones. I called VZW on Thursday who conferenced in FedEx and stated that it would be delivered to the new address, all but guaranteeing it.
2) This morning, the package showed up at the local sort facility near my parents' home (the old address). I called VZW who conferenced in FedEx Apparently, it was going to be re-tagged and sent back to Greer, SC, then on to Memphis, TN, then on to Orlando, FL for a Tuesday delivery.
3) This was, obviously, unacceptable. At the very last minute, FedEx agreed to cancel the address change and deliver to the original address.
4) It was delivered to the original address around an hour ago. My dad will be overnighting my phone to me, and VZW has agreed to pay the $80 shipping fee.
My Fiancee's Phone
1) She also placed a address change, which was later confirmed to have been received by FedEx. As with my and my dad's shipment, it was confirmed and double confirmed that the shipment would be sent to the new address.
2) Turns out, it was sent to the old address. They did not even attempt to re-route it. Which, in hindsight, is a good think given the extra 3-4 days FedEx stated in relation to the original address redirection for my and my dad's phones. She is about an hour away from the original address, and she is already on the way.
So, in both cases, VZW and/or FedEx did not come through. We were told BS. Oh well. I hear there are some activation issues going on. I'm going to go out and enjoy the (somewhat) fall day here in Orlando and I'll link up with my new phone tomorrow. Enjoy it all, everyone!
