Wow that sucks. My husband missed my delivery so now I have to pick up at FedEx this evening.My driver apparently attempted to deliver to the wrong house...says nobody was home on the tracking but I have no door tag and have been home waiting all day. **** you fedex

I've had issue in the past with day of release activation. It's just so many people trying at once to activate. Just keep trying it. Eventually it will.
Hey guys...I should've posted this earlier... but if you cannot be there during delivery, you can print and sign this form and they will leave the package where you tell them. That's what I did, and my iPhone X is waiting at home for me at the back door.

Yeah they left a door notice saying that I can pick it up at FedEx after 6:30 this evening. I will be there lol!
I'd be surprised if the driver is back at the depot by 6:30pm. A big launch like this sometimes they aren't back until late, after 8 or 9pm. Then you have to wait until the next day to pick it up. At least, that happened to me once.

For those of you wondering about the status of address changed packages, I have two cases to tell you about:
My Phone & My Dad's Phone (same package)
1) On Sunday I called in and requested an address change for a shipment containing both my and my dad's phones. I called VZW on Thursday who conferenced in FedEx and stated that it would be delivered to the new address, all but guaranteeing it.
2) This morning, the package showed up at the local sort facility near my parents' home (the old address). I called VZW who conferenced in FedEx Apparently, it was going to be re-tagged and sent back to Greer, SC, then on to Memphis, TN, then on to Orlando, FL for a Tuesday delivery.
3) This was, obviously, unacceptable. At the very last minute, FedEx agreed to cancel the address change and deliver to the original address.
4) It was delivered to the original address around an hour ago. My dad will be overnighting my phone to me, and VZW has agreed to pay the $80 shipping fee.
My Fiancee's Phone
1) She also placed a address change, which was later confirmed to have been received by FedEx. As with my and my dad's shipment, it was confirmed and double confirmed that the shipment would be sent to the new address.
2) Turns out, it was sent to the old address. They did not even attempt to re-route it. Which, in hindsight, is a good think given the extra 3-4 days FedEx stated in relation to the original address redirection for my and my dad's phones. She is about an hour away from the original address, and she is already on the way.
So, in both cases, VZW and/or FedEx did not come through. We were told BS. Oh well. I hear there are some activation issues going on. I'm going to go out and enjoy the (somewhat) fall day here in Orlando and I'll link up with my new phone tomorrow. Enjoy it all, everyone!

Welp thanks to FedEx's mediocrity, I have to wait until 6pm to go pick up my package from a facility that's 30 minutes away.
All packages delivered to my apartment complex get delivered to the from office, and they hold it there. They also sign for packages that only require an indirect signature. I even went the extra mile and put "Apartment Office" under delivery instructions.
YET SOMEHOW, the driver still attempted to deliver it to my apartment door. Where no one was home. Thanks FedEx.

Got mine a little over an hour ago! The 'On FedEx vehicle for delivery' scan has a timestamp of five minutes before 'Delivered' scan :|
went to a verizon store on lunch and snagged a iphone x 64gb space gray
I’ve got that hanging on my door. It’s always worked with Apple shipments, so hoping/expecting the same today with Verizon.
If I can pick it up this evening though I’m cool with that. Historically IIRC FedEx didn’t let me pick up same day on missed deliveries, so that would be Monday and really suck.

Both of mine arrived, but I am at work so I won't get to open until I get home. Happy with another successful launch day though.
I received mine just about an hour ago. The driver isn't my normal driver and he came about 3 hours earlier than my normal driver. I guess I have to go out and be a functioning adult now and not blame FedEx for being a couch potato.
The phone is beautiful. I truly love how much better it feels in my hand than the 7+. I wasn't quite sure I needed/wanted to upgrade, but I am glad I did. I'm also glad how easy it is with Verzion. Activation took about 1 minute for me, I may have gotten in on a slower time.

I got that when I called an "official" Verizon store, but when I called an authorized reseller (who knew that there was a difference..they look the same), they answered right away.
After deciding that I would pass and not get one. I had to stop by my local Verizon to drop an iPad off the account, I was shocked to find that they had a bunch of X's in stock in both colors in the 64GB. So after playing with the demo unit I decided to snag one. No lines, no 3am preorder and 10 minutes of setup I couldn't be happier
