Home and setting up my beautiful new phone. Currently downloading the latest itunes (still going back and forth whether to set up as new or use my backup). As I wait, my phone is sitting nicely on the Samsung wireless charging stand I picked up from the Verizon store yesterday. Love the indicator light for the charge and that the phone sits upright so I can see alerts from the bed without really having to pick it up from the charger. Pics to follow in a little while

Edit: Forgot that the charger also has a built in fan to keep the phone cool

Passed by the Apple Store before I went home and bought the Belkin Anti-glare screen protector. Played with the SG and Silver X, I'm sooooo glad I bought the SG.

The Silver has a gorgeous back but the chromey surround was a big turn off for me. To each his own I guess.

I'm getting used to this phone now that I went and used my 7+ after working on the X. My oh my, we're really creatures of habit. I got so used to the virtual home bar in the bottom of the X, even for just a couple of hours, that I caught myself doing it on the 7+.

Apple was right again. Transitioning to this new phone was seamless!

For those who are considering getting a wireless charger, I highly recommend. I have had my new phone on the Mophie charger, and it has charged 20% in as many minutes. I went ahead an ordered a second one a few minutes ago, so I can have one for the bedroom. I think the Apple store is going to sell out quick, once people get their phones on the west coast.
What screen protector do you have? I ordered the belkin anti glare from Apple

Just curious if any stores still have the phones in stock? Was the shortage all hype?

They're already going quick on Amazon. I settled for a generic $12 version which will probably be broken in a month or not work out of the box and be returned for a name brand version in a few weeks.

I'm the same way, but not knocking the SG. I was in such a frantic hurry at X:00AM preordering it I was just hitting random buttons. I even clicked on the wrong saved credit card on my Mac that night.

The black is gorgeous though - Looks just like a black shiny slab of marble sitting in front of me on my desk. Not complaining.
Yes it’s beautiful I

I placed my order on 10/30 after chatting with Verizon online and they explicitly said there would be no phones delivered to the store before all pre-orders were shipped and that I should just order online. Reading that people in NYC have walked in and gotten their phones early really bothers me because they basically lied. I even went to see the delivery time frame today for the exact same as phone pre-ordered and it gives an estimate of 12/6 whereas my oder is set for 12/13. Here's to hoping they update the delivery date to late November. Tbh, I think I'll be able to buy it as a walk in by then.

I wonder how long it will take Verizon to process the canceled orders from the people who got their devices in store and move up those of us with later dates?

Also, I haven’t seen anyone else with an 11/22 ship date yet... am I the only one? Lol
nope, im also 11/22 with my silver and 12/1 space grey, no updates yet.

It’s funny that you say you don’t like the silver frame that’s one of my favorite things.

I just picked up my X at my local Verizon Wireless store and I'd highly recommend no one make a purchase inside the store EVER. I accidentally chose to ship to store on pre-order day and it was a huge mistake. I had a trainee, and while I was trying to be nice and not give any back-and-forth they were so rude. They forced me to buy insurance stating it was required by store policy according to a supervisor whom I've never seen in my life. My sales lady also got in my face saying "What are you going to do if you walk outside the door and crack your screen?" I was trying to be nice the whole time but they got on my nerves so bad. I even took my case and screen protector so they wouldn't persuade me into buying their expensive accessories but I just felt so uncomfortable during that situation I didn't know what to do or say. I had the activation bug and a super "holy crap" bug where after completing the first time setup, the whole operating system froze and they wanted to recall my phone and make me reorder a new one (ha). Of course they didn't have iTunes installed. They didn't know how to reboot the device (understandable). I called Apple Support personally and they explained the new sequence but it didn't occur to me that they should have looked in the manual. The whole sale took 2 hours and she was so inefficient. I hated that they were so adamant of not letting me take the sealed in-box phone home to setup in the privacy of my own work given I was supposed to have an only 30 minute break. I understand that people might abuse this to resell phones but I was seriously just trying to get out of there especially when the package clearly had my name on the address. The best part was when they let me go and I just stormed out that they forgot to hand me the box with the accessories. She quickly ran after me and gave me the box but I was so furious that I completely forgot about it. Overall, never again. Thought it would be easier on the website but I'm taking no chances and doing it over Apple dot com by all means necessary. Worst experience ever.

I’m so in love with it just waiting on my case wasn’t expecting it until the 10th today was a lucky good day

Same here! When I got that charge on Wednesday night despite my 11/15 ship date, I went to the Verizon store the next morning and picked up two cases (still intend to make as custom Sailor Moon themed case on Skinit), a zagg screen protector, wireless charger and the USB-C to lightning cable and 29W USB-C charger in preparation for today! Totally worth it and so happy that I was able to just put all the accessories on the bill since it was an abrupt expense >.<

So I went to run some errands and took it obviously... idk I have some settings to change, I know that. But I hope I get used to it. I love the look and feel, I’m just soooo used to the other! For example, if I use raise to wake, my phone will die in no time because just moving it will wake it. So I now have to use the lock button to wake the phone. So I have to hold it weird. It’s definitely an adjustment!

Apologies for sounding crass. But did you do any homework on the iPhone X before ordering it? Like even 10 seconds worth?

I got it mixed up with the Google Pixel which I’m sure is a common mistake. It looks like an Apple product and what you would hope they were doing instead of this strange thing.

When I went to our local corporate Verizon store (town of about 15,000) about 6PM on release day they had a grand total of 3 64GB silver left.
I ended up getting my wife one of them after making the fatal mistake of letting her "evaluate" mine this morning. Luckily for her 64GB will be adequate storage.
They apparently had sold out of the 256GB ones fairly quickly but did not have that many of them to begin with.

This has been the easiest upgrade I’ve ever had. Pre-ordered, launch day delivery, quick activation and restore... couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Then you didn't upgrade your old phone to 11.1 before getting the new one in.
Nothing like going to do a restore and being told the OS on your phone (new) is to old.

Fed Ex was suppose to deliver my X by 8pm local time. I called and it never even made it into town. Least they could have done was email me about the delay. Wasted my day sitting at home
