New to VZ for preorder this year (recently switched from ATT)... I just have a few quick questions...
1) Has anyone ever preordered through both Apple and VZ and just returned/cancelled the slower order?
2) When ordering through Verizon, when do you find out you’ll get the device on launch day? I know on Apple it states it near when the selected phone is added to your cart.
3) Is it possible to preorder for in store pick up at a corporate store?
Thanks for any help on this!

It’ll tell you on the final screen the estimated delivery date.

It’ll always say it’s a few days out though. Verizon likes to give them selves a little bit of wiggle room.

It could be. Might not could be.

Which just don’t know.

I personally think the app will be fastest. Verizon always does a good job with the ones who pre order right away.
[doublepost=1508880203][/doublepost]What I am going to do is try the app and the website at the same time.

I will not use apples stock pile. They will have too much going on.

Gonna try Apple on my iPad and buy it outright, and try VZW on my iPhone and MacBook

i did a test run. took 1 min, 32 secs from app open to "place order" on iphone 8 plus.

i HAVE to use VZW.com or VZW app since im on an employee plan.

when you update the app, it tells you about it. all it is is, it skips you having to pick plan details.

1. Agree to pay up and send back phone (if applicable).

2. Select New Phone/Color/Storage.

3. Agree to new installment agreement, and money owed (taxes, etc).

4. Place order.

My test run took me 92 seconds.

Can you explain step by step how you get to the order process?

Who is using Verizon app/website to order vs the Apple app/website? Just curious on thoughts of what would be the quicker route (I have account info saved on both).

Using the Verizon app because I have to. It seems pretty fast and maybe even faster than the Apple app.

Why this is confusing... inst the "verizon device payment program" the same as the verizion trade in after 50% paid off? Just talked to apple rep and told that i need to order thru verizon

On Apple , how would you like to pay:

Apple iphone upgrade program
Verizon device payment program
Apple iphone payments ? <-- what is this??
One time full payment.

Yup. Discovered this a couple weeks ago. It’s not all bad though. Verizon app is pretty fast.

I've seen a few people talk about plan changes. I have personally been avoiding any type of account/plan changes before the pre-order. I remember last year I changed my plan a week before the pre-orders for the iPhone 7 started but when I went to order it would not let me because of "scheduled changes to my account" even though the man over the phone with Verizon said it would not hinder me from ordering.

I just wanted to give a heads up for anyone who did not know or who have been told otherwise like me. I wasn't very happy at 2AM during pre-orders last year. However, I ordered over the phone after my cycle ended and my iPhone 7 Plus ended up being delivered on my birthday a couple of weeks later so it all worked out.

just switched to Verizon from Tmobile today. between apple store app and verizon app, which is better to preorder iphone x? i have not used either of the two.

I apologize if this has been asked before, but I got my 7+ using the 650$ promo last year. I was wondering what would happen if I bought an X outright and just held onto my 7+. Would I keep getting the payments if the phone isn't active on one of the lines? Or would I have to transfer it to an active line to keep getting that credit?

I assume there are no real good ways to get that credit and get the X (as they knew this would be the case), but I'd appreciate any help on the best way to approach it.

Yes you can do that. You can buy the X at full retail price and keep the 7+ and let the discount run. You need to keep the 7+ till its paid off.

Hot take: These random reports of how l of a sudden Apple is able to ramp up production has me thinking this is all drawing up demand, not saying it wont be tough to preorder I just think its very interesting and maybe we wont have as tough a time as we think

I'm planning on upgrading my 6s plus, which is totally paid off, and going back on another Verizon payment plan. I know everyone is saying that the Apple app is fastest. But my issue is that I have to have it shipped to an address other than the one on the account. I believe that isn't possible on the Apple app? If I do just go through the Verizon app or website, will it ask for a shipping address? I know I've figured it out in the moment many times before but the rush hasn't been nearly as much since I always have upgraded on the S cycle.

So what’s the best practice using the Verizon Wireless app? Do you start the order process before go time and stop a page shy of selecting the phone, or do you wait until go time to begin the process?

is it possible to pre-order through apple website and choose Verizon payment plan?

Well not necessarily. I’m on the Verizon payment plan with 50% paid off but the Apple store app doesn’t facilitate me trading in my iPhone 7.

Test it with the 8 and see if it works. More than likely you’ll have to use the Verizon app like me.

Not sure but probably. I start by going to Devices, select my number, select upgrade early, click the box to say my phone is in good working condition. Then yeah I’d probably wait at the page that lets you select the phone.

If the phone is not active on any line, I suspect you won't get the credit, but you might be asked to payoff the balance.

Hello all, thought I’d hop on the discussion here before all the madness starts tomorrow night/early morning. I have a 7+ I got from VZ last year, on launch day. I used the website last year; however for my Apple Watch Series 3 this year, I used the app and it went quite smoothly, so here’s hoping it will go the same for the X. Is that the consensus now is that the VZ app is the best way to go? I’m just thinking someone has to get one on launch day, why not me ;) :p
