Does anyone know of any tricks to order through Verizon? It seems like the process is much slower with them compared to Apple. For example, with Apple the tricks are to favorite your item which you can’t with Verizon, and then use Apple Pay which obviously doesn’t exist with Verizon.

Verizon doesn't allow single payments towards paying off devices that are on lease.

C'mon man.

I don't blame you there, I would prefer the Apple Store app as well. Much less chance of completely spazzing under all the traffic.

I'll be tempted to just buy mine outright from Apple if Verizon's servers go down. Hopefully I won't have to resort to that.
It doesn't hmm CS told me the wrong info then. When I paid off my line they said I could pay it off online or pay the balance up to 50%. Maybe I got the wrong info. Sorry

So what exact page on the VW website should I be refreshing constantly? And same goes for the VW app? Which page of the app should I be on?

Thanks

Apparently there is the mysterious "Express Upgrade" process with the Verizon iOS app. When I asked a Verizon rep what this was about, he just said it's an easy process to upgrade, similar to what they did for the Pixel 2. (I have no idea what they did for the Pixel 2.)

I'm guessing there'll be a quick link to purchase the iPhone X as soon as you open the app at 12:01.

I think I’m gonna try to go through part of the upgrade process right before they go live. I’m going to the Devices section, tapping Manage on my line, tapping upgrade, and then going through the steps until it brings me to the select a device screen, where I’ll select the X. Ill try to time it right so that I hit this screen right when they go live

i just tried running a dummy preorder for the iPhone 8 plus and it told me to give them a call within 24 hours to finish the credit application. i tried calling and then it said i need to contact a sales rep. does this mean i can still pre-order the iPhone and i can call them in the morning to finish the credit application? or does this have to be done before preordering?

Ok so just to be clear:

The ideal route would be to preorder through Apple’s app for best chance of 11/3 delivery since Apple gets all the stock first?

FYI... in my (limited) experience with Verizon phone financing (not during iPhone launch though)... buying directly from Verizon online will be truly $0 down. The taxes will be financed into the payments. All other avenues of purchase (including Apple.com) will require you to pay taxes up front. (Phoenix, Arizona... 8.6%... on a $1000 phone... is $86)

That has not been my experience on my last 4 pre-orders. I have always had to pay tax at the time of purchase and then the payments are split up without taxes.

Buying directly from Verizon (either website or app) will require the payment of sales tax at checkout in applicable locations. I've tested it with a test purchase of an iPhone 8 multiple times.

Well... I bought the 7 Plus on Tmo last launch... but then in Feb, I switched to Verizon... I went to a 3rd party retailer and they wanted to charge sales tax up front. On VZW website... I paid none.

I remember somewhere in this thread people said basically that Apple’s website was better for preordering than the Verizon app/site because going through Apple means you get priority on your order and a better chance of receiving it on 11/3

The carriers each have their own stock. People who order via the Apple website are only competing with other people who order via the Apple website, not with people who order directly though their carrier. At least for that initial stock.

So in other words there’s no advantage to ordering on the Apple store app?

I got the AW3 thru VZN on launch day no problem. But I never experienced a phone launch or pre-order. I have my device setup in my favorite thru the Apple app.

If there is an advantage, it's just a matter of how quickly you can get in line and checkout with your order. The same with any of the carriers.

I pre ordered the 7 Plus on VZ website last year and was even like 40 minutes late, still got it on launch day. I’m hoping if I get my order done in the VZ app this time right away, I’ll be good to go for launch day.

Did you bring the 7 plus from TMobile to Verizon ? If so, you didn't pay the sales tax upfront through TMobile ?
If the tax was financed, I suspect that Verizon was playing nice because you were coming from another carrier.
As a Verizon customer, I've ordered 10 phones over 4 model years during the launch day and have paid the sales tax every time. Perhaps it varies by state if there are specific tax/financing laws ?

guys, i am going to verizon.com to buy in FULL PRICE for me to use with ATT. when i receive it from Verizon, do i

1) take out the Verizon SIM and just pop in the ATT SIM ?
2) activate the phone with Verizon 1st, then pop in the ATT SIM? (rumor has it that if the 1st time u boot up with any non-verizon SIM, it will permanently locked with that carrier and never be able to unlock again? is that true or am i mistaken?)

My wife and I are on device payment plans. I have the 8 plus and she has the 7 plus. I have decided to get the x. My wife is much closer to an early upgrade than me obviously. I am going to upgrade her line to the X and once I get the phone I am taking the X and giving her my 8 plus. All I have to do is swap the SIM cards right even though the device payments will still be tied to the lines that were upgraded on?

can someone tell me why they aren't letting me do the verizon payment plan? i am trying to add 3 lines to verizon to create a family plan and they are saying my credit isn't good enough i believe to have a payment plan and that i need to have to buy it prepaid?

Didn't think to could do that between ATT and Verizon. I know the Verizon and Apple versions are unlocked so it should work after provisioning but I am not 100% positive.
