I do not. But their PWM is much higher than the iPhone. That, and I’m not 6-12” away from the television like I am with my phone. My guess is that plays a part as well.Does anyone else has also issues with LG OLED TVs ?
are you using yours as a compunter monitor?Does anyone else has also issues with LG OLED TVs ?
why I will not buy iPhone 12
Nope mate. 55 LG CX at 2 meters distance and gave me headaches. But after some days i was getting used to it which never happen with the iPhone…. iPhone 12 also caused me nausea…. not the TV.are you using yours as a compunter monitor?
I have found this article that says that with LTPO there is no DC Dimming possible an only low PWM:Hmmm. I wonder if pro motion will help us that deal with with PWM
More than likely not since Apple uses samsung/lg displays.. Hopefully they just at least go back to the 11 pro frequencies. I personally didn’t have problems with those displays. The 12s were the first displays that I encountered this issue.I have found this article that says that with LTPO there is no DC Dimming possible an only low PWM:
Can the iPhone 13 screen become the biggest shortcoming and the three major Snapdragon 888+ flagships can "hang and hit"? - iMedia
There are a lot of hardware on the mobile phone, but in the previous many years, the upgrade order is not the turn of the screen. The hardware upgrades of earlymin.news
This could be horrible But how trustworthy this source is, its another question. But when you look at Oppo/OnePlus with their new Smartphones with LTPO Display they have ditched the dc dimming function. I have tried the S21 Ultra that also has a 120 Hz LTPO Display and i was not possible to use it. Maybe Apple makes with his own approach on LTPO something different and better. But this hope is not big
No DC dimming, no LTPO can make us comfortable. Since PWM is inherent to OLED tech, we really can’t use it no matter how the manufacturers try to overcome it. For us, we will have to wait for the phone companies to adopt the micro LED tech.I have found this article that says that with LTPO there is no DC Dimming possible an only low PWM:

I'm sure your right once again this year but I still have to try with the 13 series. One last roll of the dice.No DC dimming, no LTPO can make us comfortable. End of the road for all of us who are affected by PWM technology. As long as there is OLED, we can’t really buy any of these new phones. High time some industries acknowledge this issue and make phones for the minority of us.
Yep, I'm curious about that as well. No idea what "New Display Engine" means, but I'm slightly hopeful that it could potentially be better for us eyestrain-wise.There are new displays and new display drivers so there is a chance of better! i pre-order tomorrow and see what i feel when using the 13 pro fist :-0
There is no good phone left in the Android world too which uses the LED technology.I'm sure your right once again this year but I still have to try with the 13 series. One last roll of the dice.
Worst case is an ipad Mini 6 for home consumption and a iphone se for the best pocketability. Or switching to the Android device lottery.
The question that remains is how long are they going to keep the LCD on SE line. If Apple reuses the body of iphone X and Xs body for their next SE lineup, then it’s going to be a nightmare for the rest of us. And the SE in the current form leaves so much to be desired. As long as Apple continues the iPhone SE line with LCD, I'll be okay.
I’ve only every had LCD IPhones (11, XR, 7, etc…). Just pre-ordered the 13-mini yesterday and plan to trade-in my iPhone 11. I’ll wait until the last day possible to send in the trade in. I can’t imagine PWM will be an issue since my phone is not my primary device (ie I use my iPad Pro for youtube, streaming and most other consumption type content). My phone is just for the basics: Texting, camera, maps, emails and for the odd internet search or video. Oh yeah, I use it for phone calls too?right now I am on iphone 11, last non pwm iphone... but really tempted to try iphone mini and ipad mini kombo.. ipad for any home usage and mini with pwm out of home... will see how it goes fun fact is, i got apple wats S5 with oled and probably pwm and have 0 issues, so maybe with the smalles screen it will be acceptable.. who knows..
Go buy an LG phone.I just hate how Apple is not understanding How serious is the argument here.
They still use OLED displays that use PWM to modulate brigtness, and so they flicker!
30/40% OLED Smartphone Owner's are claiming infact, eyestrain, headhace, nausea, dizziness, motion sickness, that is mainly caused by the screen flicker.
a DC dimmimg option, like on the android side, will not fix the problem!! Its just a fresh candy excuse to keep the consumer to buy the product!
LG has new OLED panels (on their TV lineup), that are called "Self Lit", and they claim that those panels, are not using any backlight, so there is any Flickering or PWM used.I do really hope to see a change in display technology on future Iphones.
I really hope Apple can see and hear this message, because it is not only me, but 30% of your customers having problems like this!
Imagine using a strobo flashing light, and point it to your eyes for 5h, or more, a day. How would you feel? Confused? You are okay. It is normal. We just need the right technology, and this PWM thing, on a Display, it is garbage!
Please Apple do not use any PWM or Flickering Display in the future! (not only for Iphones, both for Mac, Ipad, Macbook).
Written on my SE 1st gen
If you want a pwm free display on next Apple devices, like and comment this post, to make it notice!
