I can definitely tell a difference and am running my new iPhone 12 between 50-75%... thanks for the tip 👍
That's great news! Nice that you can enjoy your new phone.

Your eyes will still get hurt, just matter of how long you can endure OLED....That's great news! Nice that you can enjoy your new phone.
Do you mind giving a little more detail with that response?Your eyes will still get hurt, just matter of how long you can endure OLED....
It *is* real and it *is* unhealthy, in some cases maybe even dangerous if your brain has a particular reaction to it.
Excuse me?What a load of big animal with horns excrement.
Please post your real scientific findings ?
Thanks for this info 👍Current rumours suggest there may be a new iPhone to replace the XR in March 2021 (the “SE Plus” for lack of a better name)
one of the purported test designs is one that crosses the new iPad Air 4 language (single front camera and Touch ID button) with the XR body l, using the same LCD tech as the XR and 11 sans notch, plus hole cutout
Hopefully this offers an alternative option for those who suffer from PWM. It’s not ideal, but LCD seems to be slim pickings across any flagship brand so at least Apple has some options for those who are affected.
Really disappointing Apple didn't go to a higher PWM frequency this time around.Probably the micro-led will help you but hopefully in 2021 or 2022 it will be released.
Wow, even I didn’t know pwm affected balance. One of the reasons my family got me the SE2020 was because I’d fallen down our winding front staircase twice after switching to the 11 Pro which does not bother my eyes nor give me headaches. I also would get a bit bad with my hand eye coordination and found myself dropping that expensive 11 Pro more than I usually drop anything.Excuse me?
PWM can very quickly cause migraines, vertigo, dizziness and puts an enormous strain on the brain and balancing systems. Just google it, or don't. I don't care.
If you persist, the symptoms become worse and worse. Combine that with a situation where you are driving / moving or otherwise under stress - just see what happens and tell me it's not dangerous.
And just what agenda do you have to disprove other people's sufferings?
Either way, be disrespectful and expect zero further response from me.
Oh yeah, and don't forget, not everybody is *just like you*.
Sorry to hear you're having these problems.Wow, even I didn’t know pwm affected balance. Having those subtle balance problems, I was wondering if I have MS or something like that. I was about to get into investigating the possibility and then the pandemic hit and put everything on hold. The weird issues did go away with me switching to the SE, but the SE2020 causes something else entirely which is a shimmery white curtain effect in my peripheral vision. I have no idea what that’s about. Our LED lightbulbs aren’t doing me any favors, either.
I returned my 12 Pro. That display made my eyes water and the weight made my hand cramp. There’s apparently a bit of a display lottery because my new regular 12 has a much crisper display that’s easier to focus on. It’s similar to the display on my daughter’s 12 Pro which was also noticeably better than the one on my 12 Pro.
I can also use True Tone turned on. If I tried to use True Tone on my 12 Pro, the display looked murky and made me a bit dizzy.
My eyes aren’t completely adjusted to the new screen yet, but I’ll give it a week. I don’t have to send my 11 Pro away until I’m sure I can use this screen.
It’s fascinating how different our nervous systems are and what they react to. While I have all of these strange issues, I am the only person in my family who can use VR Goggles (at least the ones I’ve tried so far) for as long as I want to without getting dizzy or getting headaches. In fact, when I used to have a migraine I’d put my Samsung VR goggles on and play a few games. I’d immediately feel better. Go figure!
It’s crazy how much people have probably spent on medical bills and never actually figure it out that it’s their phone. You can’t physically see pwm, so most people wouldn’t even think it was a thing at all.I don’t care what anyone says, a few years ago I got an X in my later 20s and my head started feeling off.
I visited a Neurologist, had MRIs, and was convinced something was terribly wrong.
After reading another thread about PWM I got rid of the X and returned to a iPhone without PWM...I’ve been feeling great for years without issue.
I’m 100% confined the PWM was causing issues (for me) and I’ve been great since switching.
I currently use an 11 and I really hope they remove PWM in the future!
The easiest way of doing it is opening a web page with a lot of white, like this forum, on your new phone. Then use another phone (girlfriend’s, wife’s, friend’s, old phone... anything with slow motion video, really) and film that screen of your new phone in slow motion, until the (new) phone screen goes dark. You can now literally observe what makes you dizzy. Apple’s LCD screens don’t do that.Using the pro max and in very dizzy/ feels like motion sickness.
I had the 11 pro max and no issue
what could be the cause?
I’ve had every phone since the 5 and this has never happened. The easiest way of doing it is opening a web page with a lot of white, like this forum, on your new phone.
