He bent an iPhone once

Sadly that’s how he blew up.

I hate his channel with a passion LOL. Those thumbnails my God are sooooo annoying.

The video OP posted is pretty old now LOL but he’s been wading in sea of controversy lately especially after the whole Escobar Fold 2 debacle but then when he gets called he blames us for not “picking up” on his subtle sarcasm and other idiosyncrasies

I also laughed when he sent that “reconciliation” email to  with that fake apology or whatever then uploads a video ripping apart the SE.

Ooo I love iJustine haha

I also like Michael Fisher but for some reason his voice just annoys the crap out of me sometimes haha.

UrAvgConsumer should really change his name now because he is so out of touch with what that means LOL. The others, I haven’t watched them.

If I want to see someone holding a product I am interested in and it happens to be Unbox Therapy, I'll watch his video on mute. Same goes for Dave Lee, Linus, The Verge, etc. Only a few I can tolerate such as MKBHD (his content quality is hands down the best - I know there are strong opinions against him), Mobiletechreview and 9to5Mac.
If we're ranking tech/Apple YouTubers...

I think when Dieter Bohn is doing The Verge's videos, they're some of the best around. He is very likeable. Nilay Patel is fine, but prefer Bohn's review style.

I agree that UT and Linus can be difficult to watch. I'd put EverythingApplePro, iJustine, Austin Evans and Prosser in that category too (though I think Prosser is playing a character - it doesn't work for me, but I'm sure some enjoy it). I don't mind Dave Lee, but can see why some wouldn't. Another one that springs to mind is Rene Ritchie - I have nothing against him, but some people seem to absolutely love his videos. I find them a bit too close to being full-on Apple PR.

MKBHD is pretty decent and factual. I also like DetroitBorg for reviews, although he doesn't post often, and Mrwhosetheboss makes some good videos if you can get past the questionable username.

One thing I noticed among the tech review scene, was that tech reviewers including ones I like, praising the new one plus 8 pro and barely or not commenting at all on the widespread screen issues that a huge percentage of customers have, green tint/black crush/burn-in etc. I feel as if Apple released a product with such issues in 2020 they would get destroyed by most of these youtubers.

Out of all of them, Michael fisher is my favourite, followed by your average consumer.

Generally I can’t stand both unbox therapy and Jon prosser.

Lew is fake and speaks a lot of crap and Jon prosser just shouts and his way of presentation is a bit derogatory towards others which I despise.

My personal favourites are -

- marques brownlee
- tellosive tech
- Rene Ritchie
- zollotech
- Jonathan Morrison
- Jaime Rivera
- mr who’s the boss
- super saf
- Jon rettinger

At first, I didn’t like Prosser just from his tweets, but I heard him a podcast as a guest on Gadget Casts and he was pretty down to earth. He even said his personality on his channel is for the channel. That’s how his fans know him. I’m better about him since he seems to genuinely have legit inside, high-level sources. He’s made Apple rumors a lot more interesting again if nothing else.

Anyway, I’m not a person to be a fan of YT reviewers, but there are some channels I like checking out.

MKBHD is a fav.
iJustine depends on the direction she takes her vids. If wondering how I could possibly use a product in my general day-to-day, I would seek out her channel.
MaxTech seems okay, but I’ve only discovered that channel from wanting to see more 2020 MBP reviews.

I don’t have a full list of everyone out there, but many of them seem to be nothing more than a mixed bag of head-to-heads, spec rundowns, save your money and buy this, not that. Then it comes down to find the personality you like who delivers the topics you’re interested in and subscribe.

If Apple is Saddam, then Rene Ritchie is their Baghdad Bob.

One Youtuber that I miss is DetroitBorg. Don't know what happened to him, he stopped publishing videos a few years ago.

Not really he’s a major Sʌᴍsᴜɴɢ shill. Plus I’m annoyed that he didn’t post a real review for the S20 cause he only had a copy saved to a SD card that got corrupted. Ugh.

He loves Samsung, but you’ll notice he always wears 2 Apple watches. He’s a closet case Apple lover.

The best part about following so many tech you tubers is when they all drop sponsored videos on the same day. It amuses me to wake up one morning and see my feed filled with vacuum or OnePlus promotions.

Currently, I follow:

MKBHD
Jonathan Morrison
Austin Evans
iJustine
Linus

These were the first OG 4k squad or something that got me hooked on tech videos. MKHBD is still going strong. Morrison doesn't upload as often. Austin seems to have become a more generic tech shopping channel. iJustine is fun to watch, but I don't really care for her other lifestyle videos. As for Linus, I am not really a fan of the gadgets he covers, and I am resigned that he will never be able to review apple devices in an objective light.

Dave2D
Zollotech

Their content seems the most factual and least biased. Good for when you want content that just cuts out the flash and drills right down to the basic information.

Tailosive Tech
Jon Prosser
Painfully Honest Tech

These 3 channels got my interest as they seemed to start booming at around the same time, and as they were starting out, their content was pretty interesting. I remember coming home from work and my daily routine was to just watch their videos first. The quality of their content seems to have died down somewhat (with PHT seemingly the worst hit ever since he quit his full-time teaching job to become a YouTuber, he kept flip-flopping between hating on Apple and being a fanboy, and his twitter feed is just full of him fretting over his poor views and anxiety).

Christopher Lawley
Everyday Dad
24/7 Tech
Noah Herman
Canoopsy

These are upcoming tech channels that I am following currently. They cover niche topics like iPad productivity so it's refreshing to watch.

I've never really enjoyed watching any technology video on YouTube - be it a review of a phone or computer.
I can't fathom why the YouTubers all make their videos so sensational in their appearance. It's not like the hardware of a modern smartphone or computer has changed much in recent years.

But, all YouTubers make it appear that this and that company just reinvented the wheel. When all that's happened is an added or removed port.
And then they go on an on about that very topic. About "why" "who" "when" and if everyone can just add in all the ports.

Jeez. A case for a fricking phone?? Stop the presses... Now hold on, you're telling me you obtained a cover for a smartphone!?

Despite being brought up on British English there's nothing worse for me, today, than a British bloke saying "well, hello there. Fancy seeing this here new iPhone case I gotten me a hold of now?" No thank you.

I can only really tolerate Explaining Computers and his English dialect. Also he's old. I learn things - like stuff about SSD's that I can't remember anyway.

Let's get real deep now, ya dig? I much prefer videos about software - this is what we all interact with.
Videos about ReactOS, Haiku, and videos about the 1 billion Linux distro's that are out there. The GNOME dev team puts put some great videos about the GNOME Desktop Environment that certainly gives an impression that they are really proud of their work. I like that. Seeing yet another video about someone water cooing their PC or someone pressing down on a MacBook keyboard saying "Listen... can you hear the noises as well when I press here? I don't think I will buy another Apple product ever again" "shhh. The fan is kicking in!!"

I guess, in final thoughts, that there's a new reality - this reality is that nothing can be made too sensational in this day and age. Give me the pill now and let me forever be free.

Signed, an Armchair Commenter who's too old and often negative in his replies. Although I am also very realistic and fully aware that I don't have to watch any tech - unboxing - tinker - bonkers - tinfoil hat wearing videos.

Ah YES, DetroitBorg! I really love his videos as he usually got all the colors, be it iPhones or the cases. It's just fun looking at all those colors in one shot.

WhoseTheBoss and EverythingApplePro are my two favourites; though I've noticed a lot of people here and on reddit aren't fond of EAP. I enjoy Marques, and Zollotech also.

I love Filip from EAP. He's laidback and has some of the best renders out there. Oh, and he's very easy on the eyes, if you ask me.

Generally I can’t stand both unbox therapy and Jon prosser.

Jonathan comes across as very genuine and approachable. Prosser, on the other hand, is so smug and abrasive. His voice alone puts me through it.

LMAO, did you guys see his pathetic buttkissing video he did for Apple in a recent video? He tried his best but he's been permanently friendzoned by Apple lmfao.

His problem is: He likes (begrudgingly) Apple but the majority of the big clicks on his videos come from anti-Apple videos that android fans love to watch. That brings in the $$$. However, he's been blacklisted by Apple so he won't ever get anymore review units like other Youtubers get (from absolutely heavily biased anti-Apple videos). He has to pay out of pocket for them.

Meanwhile, all the other youtubers are flourishing because there IS a huge interest for iPhones (duh) and most people don't want to swift through a bunch of crappy cryptic 'Don't Not Buy The iPhone 11 Pro' *facepalm thumbnail* videos so they're turning to other higher quality tech youtubers for info. He's feeling the pressure lol

He got blacklisted because he showed the World the flawed design of the bending iPhone 6 and forced them to change the design of the 6S.

Apple are "butthurt" because he cost them money and bad press, forced them to actually change a design on the S year.

He is very fair on Apple reviews without sucking up and stated in the MBP video this week that he and his team all use MacBook pros for work but the camera on them are potato and he isn't wrong showing the Surface go 2 that costs $399 has a superior camera in every way compared to a $1800 pro.

I use to be like you, a fanboy until I grew up and saw most tech reviewers that get these freebies from Apple NEVER say a bad word against the device because Apple act like a spoilt little child when it comes to reviews.

I use an iPhone 11 Pro, MacBook Pro and iPad Pro but I will never trust an honest review from anyone that gets free stuff from Apple.

Lew is a big mouth but at least he isn't "buttkissing" in his reviews, the email to apple video was clearly tongue in cheek and his review of the SE was spot on, its a lazy money grab from Apple.

jon prosser is the biggest piece of garbage going right now, he did nothing but lie for years on his videos and click bait until some factory worker in china gave him some info and now he's a massive egotistical fat plonker.

He now thinks he's big time and abuses anyone that questions his history.

This is what I feel like about Jon Prosser as well. I hate the tone he uses for his videos.

I have Unboxed Therapy, ‘EverythingApplePro and Flossy Carter completely blocked from my YouTube stream for quite some time. I invest my time into active channels that actually have background knowledge on Apple, their products and overall services, not these garbage juvenile channels that are biased and severely have undermined the understanding of Apples operations.

Recently tried watching one of UBT videos but he was so over the top that I stopped watching.

I rarely watch YouTube to begin with preferring the written word. One reviewer I really like is Lisa from MobileTechReview. Very calm and no-nonsense.

I think I've watched zollotech's and Rene Ritchie's reviews as well and they're okay, too.
Is Lisa still around? I didn’t know that. When I went through my android phase 🤢and windows phone phase, I used to be all about her channel.

Haha, his voice does grate on that video.

But, good grief, all of these revelations... scams, liars, who stole someone else’s design, who stole someone else’s device, whiny voices, is this now the “reality TV” substitute? Next it will be iJustine is secretly sleeping with Jon Prosser... save me from the B-rated WB internet dramas. I just want the information I’m looking for when I’m looking for it. And not a rant at all, this is funny as hell to me right now, and I’m strangely intrigued, lol

We all need to get back outside.
