People who receive review units are biased as they have to make reviews that fit Apple their agenda. Else they will be blacklisted
That is a standard approach in every industry though. In my industry we send a lot of products out to be tested and field trialled and we would never send out to companies that would criticise us in the public domain. Once the products are released to the mass market the wider feedback is to be expected. Apple are pretty sensible I would say by handpicking the sources that will help create marketing hype pre-release.

Yes. But other biased YouTubers that fit into Apple's agenda (like iJustine for example) don't necessarily belittle Android phones. Lew downplayed and mocked Apple products for the longest time.

I can’t believe some of you guys are picking on Linus.... though he’s anti Apple.m, he’s always been fair about it. What he always have to say usually have a lot of merit

Some of you guys just can’t stand to have your shiny new iPhone or other Apple device bad mouthed and thrown under the bus for whatever flaws said YouTube has to say about it

Frankly I can’t stand iJustine and the rest of her apple loving crony’s.... they have absolutely nothing negative to say about Apple devices.... it’s very dishonest to me

I think being impartial is important. I feel the same way about Apple fanboy videos too (like ijustine)

That's interesting. I watched iJustine here and there, and although she's definitely hyped up on everything Apple, she actually is quite impartial and also say good things on other tech related stuff. I never see her "bashing" Android or non-Apple stuff on and on on every video. She's more of a tech enthusiasts that are also an Apple fan.

I'd say being a fan of something doesn't mean automatically being biassed against the other, especially since her videos about other gadgets are also mostly positive.

I guess tone is important. Guys like MKBHD have a more neutral tone for any almost anything. That really creates credibility. Meanwhile, I see youtubers like Linus and Unbox Therapy being unnecessaryly "loud" when bashing Apple, so credibility on those types are out for me. And I'm myself an Android user.

iJustine is overly glorified, but if you watch some of her videos, [which I have], she really tries to appeal to a younger demographic with her euphemisms and overall ‘giddiness‘, it’s almost like she wants to draw in teenagers as her main viewing audience. I admit, she is very intuitive when it comes to Apple products and understands the technicality behind RAM, the processor and overall camera enhancements, but her mannerisms are rather that of a juvenile. Not knocking her, just sayin.

I don’t see Justin as a tech reviewer. She’s entertaining in some sense but tech is really not her forte. She used to review stuff in the past but recently I’ve found her content to be pretty boring and more of a life vlog sorts.

I only correlate her to Unbox therapy, because Apple does send her new products for reviews, hands-on demos or simply previewing something ahead of time. And quite frankly, I think Apple loves her Over quite a few ‘Youtubers’, because she literally gushes over anything that has the ‘Apple logo‘ on it. Now, I of all people enjoy Apple products and probably Own more Apple products than the majority of forum members, but I don’t go to the level of ‘Cheeroracy’ the way she does. It’s a bit overboard, Which is why it seems like she is more in tune to drawing in teenagers then some of those who are more advanced in tech probably over her own realm of understanding.

While she is definitely creating the persona of overly giddy Apple fan (which can be annoying at times), the reason I still find her videos watchable is that she is not on constant bashing/rant over another brand/product incessantly in her videos like some other youtubers. She even reviewed other non-Apple products and is generally as excited/positive.

I totally agree, she’s very positive and extroverted. Literally, she is not only beautiful, but she has a glowing Aura of a personality to her that you want to watch her videos given her enthusiasm for tech and Apple. But it doesn’t take away the fact that I think she intentionally is biased towards Apple for XYZ reasons, because she wants them on her side given how popular Apple is and how they have helped her channel grow well beyond where she was three years ago.

YouTubers (all of them) are an extremely odd group of narcissistic wanna bees. I've personally renamed YouTube to "TrashTV" because that's what it is for 99.5% of the content on there.
It's junk media

"YouTubers (all of them)"........?!!
What a naive, exaggerated and completely misleading statement, which implies that you have watched every single YouTube video ever posted, which is of course totally impossible. Plus, how do you relate "all of them" (i.e. 100%) to your alleged 99.5% of the content? Obviously you cannot justify that 99.5% or any other figure, and nobody can.

You may possibly have targeted your comment to unboxing videos only, but you don't state that. And fwiw, I have watched several excellent unboxing videos just to check what accessories should be included with a given article, because occasionally they may be omitted - especially if one has purchased a pre-used, boxed article. No way were those videos "trash", on the contrary, they were truly educational.
Let's talk facts here. Granted, there is a lot of rubbish on YTube - often immediately obvious just from the titles, which I wouldn't waste a second on. But there are thousands upon thousands of extremely interesting tutorials on how to repair computers, how to learn a new musical instrument without paying for an expensive teacher, classical music concerts, operas etc, that certainly were not posted by "narcissistic wanna bees", but cultivated people wishing to share their experience with the world. And imho it's that which is so great about many YTube videos.

I think she has got better and yes she doesn't hate on android or other tech stuff. But she never says anything bad about apple. I love apple stuff but they do **** up at times and their products are not always perfect. If someone never says a bad word when reviewing something then that makes it hard to take them seriously when reviewing.

However having said that I do subscribe to her and find her entertaining (at times), just don't take her apple reviews too seriously.

I very much enjoyed his boo-hooing over not getting sent Apple review units. If you set yourself up as an Anti-Apple bad boy, why be surprised? He must have been gutted watching the views stacking up on other channels for iPhone SE and Magic Keyboard reviews.

There are plenty of balanced YTers out there who will give you a solid overview of pros and cons of new products, Apple don't need to bother with this guy.

Totally agree. All her apple reviews are from test units from apple. She is one glorified promotional ad for apple.

I concurred that unboxed therapy is very biased and so unless you’re an android user who needs to feel validated about their own purchase and why they don’t buy Apple products this is the guy listen to for propaganda

EverythingApplePro is also terrible, seems like an immature rich kid with not much interesting to say.
Glad someone sees him the same way I do. I used to really enjoy his videos back when he did very thorough videos about the many, many, many small changes in each new iOS beta, but now he seems too show-y off-y. No, I'm not jealous of the money he's made, I know he's worked hard for it (hopefully) but I'm just not into bigger YouTubers who enjoy showing off their homes or possessions in their video backgrounds.

I never felt like he shows off. What did he show off by the way? All I see is him sitting on a chair talking about whatever it is he’s filming for.

EverythingApplePro(<— He is definitely not a ‘Pro) is more concerned about how his hair looks on camera then putting out a good presentation. He is a click baiter, with non-source data, and regurgitates other produced information that has already been published from other credible analysts.

Always makes me laugh when people on here say this about him and his channel. It is literally no different than this very site lol. He is basically macrumors but in video form.

...But Macrumors doesn’t Clickbait the way he does. And to me, when you have a YouTuber like himself that ‘click baits’ hard-core, that shows desperation to me and loses credibility instantly. Pass.

If I want to see someone holding a product I am interested in and it happens to be Unbox Therapy, I'll watch his video on mute. Same goes for Dave Lee, Linus, The Verge, etc. Only a few I can tolerate such as MKBHD (his content quality is hands down the best - I know there are strong opinions against him), Mobiletechreview and 9to5Mac.

I find MKBHDs content and presentation style great. Unfortunately too many tubers are following his presentation format in order to get the same followers and ad revenue (iJustine, etc).

Dave Lee (Dave2D) and what’s that short French guy again, I can never recall his name - seem to have much more individual thoughts and presentation style. Commentary on reverie products is very well executed not annoying and the latter actually has sound, thought provoking ideas/commentary.

Weirdly I’ve been having exactly the same feeling about him recently. Stopped watching his videos now.
