I’ve had my iPhone 15 Pro for a little over a year now. From day one, I noticed a slight reddish tint in the top right corner of the screen. Over time, it seems to have spread a bit toward the lower parts as well.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Is this normal aging of the display or should I be concerned?

Mine and my wife’s 17Ps are perfect, no green shift or uniformity issues and I checked the panels and they were G9N.

However, my in laws upgraded from 13s to 17s yesterday and when I was setting them up, I noticed the horrible green shift when angling toward myself. I couldn’t believe how drastic it was, luckily they don’t notice that stuff but it would drive me nuts. I didn’t have time to get a check on their panels.

Good call - I still had the screen protector on. I removed it and here's a new photo. Looks pretty much the same to my eyes, maybe a tiny bit more yellow in the center now.
From the photo definitely a typical Samsung oled “feature “ two half of the screen being different temperature colors. Sometimes it can also be right side or left side tinting instead of top or bottom half.

Picked up another Air, cause my previous one had a speaker problem, and I lucked out with another G9Q panel, looks pristine. Phew, that lottery moment when you unbox it and turn it on for the first time and slowly peel the white paper screen protector, take a deep breath, take the first peek and slowly start tilting it in every direction is nerve wracking lol

Lucky you! I'm going to order another Air today and hope I get a Samsung panel. Tried to use the LG GVC panel but the blurry whites drive me crazy. Just doesn't look crisp at all.

My lottery moment is when I check for uniformity and ensure there’s no pink or yellow tint when looking head on.

This will be my last post in this thread so as not to be too much, but for the life of me, I really don’t understand why 95% of users only care about the blue shift when evaluating a panel. To each their own, I guess.

Happily take a panel with uneven brightness and colour tint at a “normal” viewing angle, over a colour shift at an abnormal angle, because a stranger in the internet told them to do so.

Okay, so now they just don’t care?

Let’s put this ‘cheap’ LG screen in our most expensive Pro Max iPhone. Let’s put that cheaper panel in the model with the most high end demanding users.

Let’s give people who care the most about their screen panels the worst screens.

Nope, makes no sense at all.
The panels must pass Apple's QC. Beyond that any variance that falls within spec- no they do not care. LG's screens are not inherently the worst screens. I've still yet to see any hard data comparing specs of CURRENT GEN screens from LG and Samsung (don't want to hear about random datasets from 5 years ago). I went through a few 16PM last year with Samsung screens and they were trash. Terrible uniformity, pink tint when looking head-on at the screen, unevenness with true tone and night shift enabled. Aside from extreme green shift off-axis, many LG screens have been much better than Samsung screens.

I guess that is auto brigthness when detecting the sun.
How about manual 100% brightness with true tone off, does anyone feel 17s looks dimmer than 15s and 16s?
My 17PM with the GH3 LG screen is nowhere near as blinding pure white as my 14PM was. And I do not use True Tone. What my 17PM doesn't exhibit, at least to my eyes at any angle is green tinting issues.

Same here! Perfect screen. Especially after the beta update colors and brightness are top notch.
So...I have the GH3 Lg screen in my 17PM 512 dark blue and I do not see any off axis green tinting at any angle. The only thing Ive really noticed is that it is not even close to my 14PM in terms of bright blinding pure white, it's definitely dimmer, how much dimmer I couldn't tell you. I do not ever use True Tone or screen protectors.

I'm most likely going to keep this 17PM, 14 days is up in 11 days, but I see no reason to exchange it. Hopefully this 26.1 thing really does brighten it up

Question.....If I install 26.1 beta, what happens when the final 26.1 releases? Do I have to install that too? Thanks. I'm clearly not a techie as you all can probably see LOL

I did just realize I have a volume issue! In Sounds & Haptics, my Text Tone notification sounds are all very very quiet, yes volume is turned all the way up. All other notification sounds are screaming loud, text tones regardless of which text tone, are very subtle.

This is a pretty good shot of the phones at the store.

I started with a 17 Pro Max. Its just too heavy, and I wasn't happy with the green screen and returned it (GH3) I transferred the 17 Pro Max to an Air and have used it for a few days. (Did not verify Screen) Its a great design. I really struggle still with keeping it. It has a green tint at certain angles but not as much as the 17 Pro Max.

I am using a 17 Pro right now, and it has zero tint issues, and really doesn't change at all at any angle other than getting slightly more dim ( I have not verified what screen and am not going to as it looks fine) I miss the weight of the Air, but since I like a smaller phone, the screen size is probably a better fit than the Air overall.

In the store at every station, this is what it looked like. The 17 Pro in all cases has a more consistent screen, and did not change at any angle. The 17 Pro Max gets very green from the side and especially when tipped forward. The 17 is a little green all over the entire screen and gets worse at an angle. The Air in this picture, was the most uniform of all the set ups at the store, and a little better than the Air I currently have.

I will say the Air and Pro Max with the greenish screen maybe.... has slightly more crisp contrast with black text, probably since with the greenish tint the Pro is a bit warmer in general. There could be some preference there for some people. For me the problem was having half the screen green and the other half not green - didn't like that.

My eyes say the 17 and 17 pro max as the worst at angles and I think the picture supports that, and it was worse in person. The 17 pro in all cases had the least amount of change at any angle. The Air has some slight variation, but was still a little green tilted forward but it was more uniform rather than focused at the bottom like the Pro Max. The Air also does not seem to change as much in landscape mode as the Pro Max. I have a higher rez image if anyone wants it.

I literally just left the Apple Store in Charlotte NC after closely looking at nearly every single iPhone 17 version and the Air and even though I think my 17PM with the GH3 Lg screen is not as bright as my 14PM was, my 17PM was brighter and whiter than every display phone and mine has no green tint issues whatsoever. Some of the Airs had insanely bad green screens. Definitely keeping the 17PM I have. My Lg screen is the best I’ve seen yet. Crazy how there is so much variation between same and different screens. Crazy!!!

I have a 14 Pro Max and when I got the 17 Pro Max, one of the first things I noticed is how much brighter the 14 Pro Max was, but only at lower levels. Once I get the two phones to 45%, they look pretty much the same. And of course the 17 PM does show a higher peak brightness in sunlight. The 14 PM definitely has better brightness at lower percentage levels. I always kept the 14 PM at around 30% unless I was outside. But 30% on the 17 PM is quite dim. So I keep it at 45%.

I struggle with this stuff. Not because of some stranger on the internet's opinion but because every time I see something like this, I notice it and then I hyper focus on it and it irritates me. For a while, anyway, and then I tend to forget about it. I looked at my 14 PM that I've had for three years and I see a similar but slightly more subdued green tint off axis and if I've ever noticed it before, I don't remember. 🤷

For me it comes down to whether knowing some flaw (if it even is a flaw) exists will annoy me long term. If it will, I will just return the phone and hang onto the 14 PM. It has the "flaw" but I didn't notice it before and it's long since paid for. It also comes down to whether there is enough value in it for the amount I spent and I'll admit that even before I stumbled on this thread, I was going back and forth about that. I spent $1399 on a device that definitely has improvements, but does it have $1399 worth of improvements? That I haven't decided.

I will not play the screen lottery. I've been down that road before and it leads to nothing but misery. I will have to decide whether to keep this one but if I don't, I won't replace it. My 14 PM still has a lot of life left in it.
