Correct! My source was close.. The pick up was in Oklahoma and I’m in Texas, getting it tomorrow.
It was a couple in the First Impression or 12.9 Screen Shadow thread that was able to get replacements.
FWIW, my iPad Pro 12.9 2TB shipped today from BB and is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. It originally said it was going to be delivered today (but with no tracking number). I got an email later with the tracking number that stated it would be delivered tomorrow by UPS. I’m in CA and mine is coming from CA.
Well, I got my package... And when I opened it there was no iPad Pro. Just the Magic Keyboard. I checked the Best Buy site and now it has it listed for delivery tomorrow. I swear, this is the LAST time I preorder anything from Best Buy. I am not a happy camper right now.
Well, what has me worried is that Best Buy using LSO as their courier of choice to deliver my package. According to Best Buy it’s to be delivered today… however they said that yesterday. Then in addition to that.. there’s a disconnect between LSO website and Best Buy website whereas no deliver date is mention (just pending) on LSO websiteAwesome. Thanks for clarifying. I now have one less thing to worry about.
Last update states it scanned early in the morning in a nearby facility where I’m located… but I’m nervous if it actually get delivered given the unfortunate misplaced orders from LSO customers.
You and me, both. If I known that Best Buy is using this LSO courier… I would of waited to do an in store pick up instead. In regards to you receiving two separate packages… perhaps, both items were coming from two different locations.
There was a few in the iPad delivery tracker thread that had gotten the MK ahead of the iPP.
I wouldn’t consider ordering from Best Buy fun. Those 1TB 5G models are sold out.
I’ve been seeing stuff pop up in different places. It’s all about being quick. I’ve been watching retailers trickle them in, little by little. They’ll put a few out, those will sell, then they’ll do more a little later. Best Buy is now limiting to 2 per customer.
Congrats! I was concern for mine... LSO never delivered, it was held for pick up. I contacted LSO support online which confirmed it was available for pick up at their facility.
I drove there... place was nearly vacant. I spoke with the rep.. had 2 pickup orders on some desk and he looked to see if mine was located there, which it wasn't. He then went to the back... and after a couple mins he came back with my package. Just seemed odd they never delivered.. there was no "Out for Delivery" status, just Held For Pickup.
And in addition to that, there was no signature that was required of me nor was my ID needed.
I have the slightest clue. When I spoke with the LSO support online… all they told me was they were sorry for the inconvenience. Not once did I request it to be held. As soon as I seen it was held.. I contacted them, because I was concerned it would eventually become missing.
In case anyone is following the saga of my iPad order, tonight the expected delivery changed from by 7PM Thursday to by 7PM Wednesday. Nice.

Supposedly mine is out for delivery right now via UPS so here is hoping its accurate!
Honestly getting a little frustrated.. Mine has been sitting on "arriving by Friday" since Saturday... still no shipping info, just says "getting it ready". I ordered the 12.9 1TB wifi version... Local BB didn't get any for stock and seeing posts of folks being able to order and get is really discouraging me :-(

UPS or FedEx… you honestly don’t have anything to worry about. Only reason why I closely followed mine… because I was highly skeptical of LSO. I’m glad that the package eventually found my hands, but next time… I’m not doing a preorder through Best Buy anymore. I probably won’t have them ship me anything, just go into the store instead.
Because If I would have waited, that package could potentially go missing…. LSO knew it was a BB product and it was from Apple. If it was coming from UPS or FedEx…. I’ll sit back and relax.

Now you don't have to go chasing anything after the 7th. As for UPS, I wouldn't let them off the hook so easy. They'll get your stuff there, but I've had a UPS delivery guy sign my name for my MacBook delivery so he could just drop the package off and leave.
Update for me. Item just got marked as shipped. Got the tracking from UPS. Says awaiting pickup.
I think this goes to show how pointless pre-orders can be. You order from the right place at the right time, you will get yours a few days before some guy who just walks in off the street. You order 1 minute later and your order is locked up and maybe you don't see it til a month later. Maybe it's more complicated than that but I have observed this happening time and time again.

Yea I often wonder exactly how the back end ordering system actually works and tracks that stuff. I know I literally placed the pre-order about 5 mins after it went live and certainly sounds like that didn't really matter. Not that a few days either way is a big deal to me, but I would find how it actually works on the back end interesting.

But I disagree about pre-orders being pointless. Perhaps... you are targeting Best Buy when it comes to pre-orders. Because going through Apple, there would of been hardly no issues with getting as scheduled. But as I said before.. it all depends on what model someone were going for. If someone was going for 128/256gb WiFi only models... then anyone could pick that up at launch day.
I was going to go on this dialog about not blaming Best Buy and that Apple has to ship them the product, but come to think about it. Best Buy is to blame! I looked at my package that actually came from Apple... it was shipped out of China on 5/7, that Friday!
And if anything, they had to have the package by the 14th on Friday... they waited all this time to ship it on the 24th. That boggles my mind. So, yeah... these preorders were ready to go out and be delivered on launch date, Best Buy waited.
