Immediately after I cancelled, the config became available for ordering but there's no estimated in stock date. I have a feeling it would've arrived late June if I had kept the Amazon order.
Welp, at BB… they have 1/2TB cellular models pushed back to July OR Sold Out.

Hope you get yours soon!
As long as I get it before WWDC… I honestly could careless. Because it’s not as if my current one is giving me any issues… I’m just hoping that an M1 IPad Pro is justified, if not… I’m keeping my current one.

Got a 12.9 1TB 5G SG from Apple yesterday so I just cancelled my Amazon order for 12.9 1TB 5G Silver.

Immediately after I cancelled, the config became available for ordering but there's no estimated in stock date. I have a feeling it would've arrived late June if I had kept the Amazon order.

Of course, the Mini-LED display is giving me a headache so now I don't know if I can even keep it.

Sorry to hear that man. Your 2018 model (I believe) doesn’t give you any issues?

I'm currently using the 2017 512GB LTE and no headaches triggered by the device itself.

I just ordered the 2018 1TB LTE yesterday when I saw it on Apple's refurb store. Arriving Wednesday, iirc. I don't think it will give me headaches. I worked on my aunt's 2020 iPad Pro for an hour or so setting it up and I was just fine with that one.

Well I ordered mine 5 mins after go live on Apr 30th, got an email saying confirming 21st, but website is showing shipping Monday like some of you seems like. Does anyone actually know how they will ship them (2 day, etc). Just curious if anyone has seen details on that for sure?

I believe @Drag'nGT contacted Best Buy and was told that they could potentially ship it overnight.. for a Tuesday delivery. But he was told that Thursday and they didn’t ship it that day nor Friday. So, at this point… we don’t know anything and all we can do is speculate. Even Best Buy doesn’t know much because they have to rely on Apple to send the products.

But what boggles my mind… this thread doesn’t account for orders outside of it. But I’ve yet to see a cellular 1/2TB model purchased from Best Buy.

That Apple is limiting those particular configurations to Apple Stores. Because I’ve seen some at launch on Apple Stores ready for pick up, but my order from Best Buy was charged that Friday morning. Apple can control what 3rd party stores get… and those 1/2TB models especially cellular are highly sought after during launch.

Tomorrow is the big day! Best Buy orders should supposedly ship… I am highly skepically that they would ship out Monday. My guess…. Between Wednesday or Friday.
Both my Magic Keyboard and my 2021 iPad Pro 128GB 12.9” are in the phase of “We’ll ship it tomorrow. Getting it ready.”

Does your say something different?

Oh, that wouldn’t apply to my situation. I would feel confident that they’ll ship that model tomorrow, you could of actually had gotten it during launch for pick up. I believe someone in the thread was able to pick up that model… is it cellular or WiFi?

Can confirm I am waiting on the 12.9 256GB cellular version and I still have the "We'll ship it tomorrow" notification on the website.

BB doesn't seem to have a great shipping rep these days... it sucks to see so many people that preordered and still don't have their devices. I ordered a "fire sale" iPad last Tuesday and it says I get it this coming Wednesday, but I'll be lucky if they don't cancel the order.

Well yeah, I looked at Best Buy near me on launch and they did have 1 TB iPads but I didn’t check if they had cellular. I think Amazon had orders going out or getting delivered by launch day.

Am I right to assume that nobody who pre-ordered from Best Buy got theirs yet?

I’m confused… why would they cancel an order you made? If you purchased an iPad at a certain price… they can’t cancel it unless the product isn’t available anymore.

I haven’t seen a Amazon thread yet nor have a seen someone get an order via Amazon for launch day, but TB cellular iPad Pros are hard to come by via non-Apple retailers.

I think Best Buy strategy was to serve customer who are wiling to come to the store… similar to next generation console orders. Because a few on this thread was able to do a pick up. And no… preorders haven’t been fulfilled yet.

So, as it went with the Nvidia 3090/3080 cards, sometimes they'll oversell something but still allow you to check out your cart. I managed to snag one of those $450 2020 iPad Pro 12.9 256 wifi/cellular refurbs -- however, it just says "Reserving item" and "Delivers Wednesday". Researching how this went for others, there is a chance on Wednesday when it "delivers" (but doesn't), it will actually go to "Delayed". After that, I have 10 days, and if it's still delayed 10 days later, I get auto cancelled. So yeah, they have my funds in "Pending", but as it went with them overselling graphics cards, I might end up never receiving what I bought and them cancelling due to not being able to fulfill the order. We'll see.

Yeah, I was considering ordering from Best Buy to get the reward points and I now see that for a few models you can get store pickup for in a few days but I’m starting to question if that’s a lie if they aren’t filling preorders.

That's unfortunate. I seen that Best Buy refurb wifi/cellular thread... and since its gathering substantial amount of attention I could see it becoming unavailable shortly.

Yeah, I believe it's away to lock in orders. A few in this thread cannot cancel their order because of some system in place. However, there's no shipping notification. Only positive I have going for me.. is my CC has been charged.

I really don’t know what’s going on with Best Buy. I ordered a Pro 2020 as a gift recently one night and got it the next day. Something must have gone wrong with their supply.

Yeah, I’m probably gonna just go ahead with Apple and either grab one that pops up for curbside pickup or maybe even order one and take my chances. Whatever iPad OS is gonna get at WWDC probably won’t mean much til September, unless you go on a beta.

I have some gift cards through Best Buy and I was going the Best Buy route regardless of what issues may arise. I feel its a blessing in disguise that it’s coming late because if it would have came at launch… I would potentially had to sell it if iPadOS 15 doesn‘t offer any meaningful features for the newest iPad Pros. And now, the return date falls exactly around WWDC unless by some crazy miracle I get it tomorrow.

I don’t think Amazon got any 12.9 1TB Cellular or if they did, it’s way, way, way lower than the number they ordered from Apple. I saw other configurations in-stock on 5/21. Most sold out quickly but it looks like 128-512GB Wi-Fi are getting restocked earlier and have estimated in stock dates for first half of June already.

Meanwhile, it just showed “Temporarily out of stock” for 12.9 1TB 5G or “Currently unavailable” even super early on 5/21. When I cancelled my Amazon order, the config became available for order on Amazon but still showed “Temporarily out of stock”. It doesn’t seem like the Amazon 12.9 1TB 5G orders will be getting filled before late June.

Yup. And as much as I wanna blame Best Buy for not having my order at launch. Majority of the blame falls upon Apple because I don’t see places like Amazon or Best Buy to order a few models to cover orders. I mean, it’s been since April 30th… Best Buy and Amazon took orders, which then gives them numbers to show Apple of how much they need.

I think Apple took it upon themselves to satisfy their umbrella first whether it be preorders or in-store stock. Because it makes no sense at all… that a consumer can get in-store stock at Apple while consumers who preordered asap from non-Apple retailers have to wait.

Yeah and the thing is neither Amazon nor Best Buy were taking orders indefinitely. They had a finite count for each configuration which they probably already ordered from Apple before 4/30 and it seems they stopped taking pre-orders when the count was met.

When I woke up at 6.30am on 4/30, Best Buy already showed Coming Soon for 12.9 1TB 5G. You can’t just order it anymore.

On Amazon, I think I pre-ordered the last 12.9 1TB 5G Silver one they had allocated and it immediately went unavailable after I checked out.

I do recall seeing 12.9 1TB Wi-Fi available in-stock for Prime Shipping on 5/21 so I think it’s just mostly 1-2TB 5G that has very limited stock. Even at the local Apple Stores, 12.9 1TB 5G was gone almost immediately (probably before 6-7am) while the 1-2TB Wi-Fi, I was still able to find in the afternoon.

Yep, I called on Wednesday the 19th and was told my item showed it would ship on the 20th for a scheduled delivery on the 21st. The email from BB stated my order would arrive by the 21st… which it didn’t. I now see a ship date of Monday the 24th. No idea when it should actually arrive.

Well, my Best Buy comadres and compadres… just checked this morning. And now, Best Buy is vague on when it will ship. There’s no shipment date only gives a message of “Getting It Ready,” this was back on Friday I had this message. Perhaps, I was right in my assessment… Wednesday through Friday might be when it would ship or it could be later than that.
