Dude's the CEO of a company. So what if he can't take pictures?
Not great PR, though, I agree.
I'm upgrading to the 7 Coming from the 6s, made that decision before the picture came it.
The whole thing is just kind of a joke. It's a phone camera. It's better than any phone camera without "Samsung" printed on it. He didn't take a good picture. Whatever. So what? The message I get is if the CEO of Apple can't take good pictures with his own company's product, how can normal people do it? It just works?
This could happen to anyone but, what makes it so frustrating is, if it was Samsung or any other android device, iOS fan boys would be killing those manufacturers.
Because in your world, nobody's ever taken a bad picture on a good camera before, right? So what? The message I get is if the CEO of Apple can't take good pictures with his own company's product, how can normal people do it? It just works?
oh but it does happen....Apple fans celebrate when Samsung or any of Apple's competitors has a bad PR event. To be honest, today I wouldnt even say that. I dont think the ios community is going against samsung, most people on the ios community are busy critzing (rightfully or wrongfully) Apple for making design decision against their expectations. There are a lot of comments everytime apple makes a move with very much critic in every part of the company (leadership, ios hardware, ios software, mac hardware ports etc, mac software, online services...) cant remeber a trending story of the apple community laughting at a feature or problem of android hardware just kinda more respect for "the other side"
The difference is nobody posts picture online if she/he knows it's really bad!Because in your world, nobody's ever taken a bad picture on a good camera before, right?
Of course many people do. Not to mention that "bad" is quite subjective. Sure this photo wasn't sharp or still, but as it was taken right from the field with everyone running and celebrating it seems to in a sense convey the moment of everything being in motion, as it was.The difference is nobody posts picture online if she/he knows it's really bad!
oh C'mom.....if this was any other company you would agree it was a bad PR move not a smart move of the CEO of arguably the richest company in the world to post such a picture. Then that fact that the IP6s doesn't have OIS which most modern day flagship phones do. That explains the blurry picture. The IP6s doesn't have OIS hence the blurry picture.Of course many people do. And then there's another photo as well: http://twitter.com/tim_cook/status/696573360965222404
I wouldn't care one way or another what company or whatnot it would be. If they used it as some sort of an official ad, perhaps I might have some particular thoughts one way or another, but I'd assume there'd be putting in some sort of a message with it in that case. But as it is, it's just what it is and nothing more.oh C'mom.....if this was any other company you would agree it was a bad PR move not a smart move of the CEO of arguably the richest company in the world to post such a picture. Apple's biggest competitor is Samsung. If the CEO of Samsung posted a blurry picture like that it would have made the Macrumors front page with 1000 people poking fun and saying "should have used an iphone". this is true and you know it...

Sigh. Just more evidence of what I've argued was happening and warned about: we've gotten to a point where Apple branding has become the main reason why apple sells Apple products, instead of actually making the best products.
Everyone sees their record breaking sales -- despite not being the best -- as a good thing. I saw it as a warning. And the evidence shows; now with one provided by Apple's CEO.
What special Internet do you use? lolThe difference is nobody posts picture online if she/he knows it's really bad!
And I'd be here making the same point. If the CEO of Samsung posted a blurry picture like that it would have made the Macrumors front page with 1000 people poking fun and saying "should have used an iphone". this is true and you know it...

we all have taken bad pics. But we are all not the CEO of the richest company in the world. We don't have an commercial that say"Shot on an iphone" ....C'mon even you can see the humor in it.Definitely not the greatest pic, but then again is it that big a deal? I've taken bad pics on all my cameras.
I'm not sure if people care enough if the Samsung CEO posted a bad pic. Other than my fellow Koreans in Korea their mobile management has been a revolving door. Tim Cook is the CEO of a highly prolific company and is pretty outspoken himself.
My response (well, the part of it you didn't bother to quote) clearly said that I'd be here making the same point, even if it was the Samsung CEO that posted this picture.lol....and your response sounds like an Apple fan trying to make an excuse.
But to each his own i guess.....

You should take these off so you can see the humor in all this...
People are trying hard to read too much into a simple picture taken in the moment of a heated celebration that involved a lot of movement, both on the part of the subject(s) and more than likely the photographer. Some deep analysis from a picture. Funny.
I see the humor. It's those that think it represents the state of Apple as a company in some way. It's a bad pic, I've already said that.
You're right he's the CEO of arguably the richest company and he's a pretty outspoken figure who isn't afraid to be in public. So I'll say I disagree that you think if it was the Samsung CEO it'd be getting the same treatment. A lot less people would care because relative to cook the Samsung CEO isn't nearly as well-known. I really think sometimes Samsung marketing gets to some because they've seemingly gotta compare directly Samsung and Apple. If the s6 series camera takes better pics so be it. That's fine. It doesn't diminish the satisfaction millions get from iPhones, and vice versa if people enjoy galaxy phones.
And why is this thread in the alternatives section?
Seems like one fairly fitting potential explanation as to why it's in the alternatives section is to potentially set up some sort of an "us vs. them" type of narrative, even when there isn't one that's actually there in relation to it.Who knows why the photo is blurry, I've taken worse on every phone/camera at some point, no big deal , Tim must have been caught up in the moment. (If it were a post by a high level samsung employee with the same crappy quality, it would be lampooned till the cows came home though....)
What puzzles me is why this thread is posted in the alternative to ios devices subforum?
