Define "a lot" and "defensive" :) .
[doublepost=1455080636][/doublepost]

Even better - all current phones on the market can take lousy photos.
You can down play it all you want as all the apple fandom is doing but...it is still humorous to everyone except the few that take it personally and get defensive about it. There define that :)

It's not downplaying. You seem to be making it a bigger deal than it is. And some posters who think it's a symbol of a company also.

Humorous to everyone? Maybe you'd like to think that or at least hope that. If you think so, so be it. Why is this thread in the alternatives section btw?

I believe that's essentially defined as bait. :)

Or maybe it was the final test to see who are real fans and hence getting a place from the apple spaceship... If you found something positive from that pic, prepare yourself to see pink unicorns and eat clouds behind the known universe...

I get the feeling you just made this thread to bash Apple and Apple fans. Then when some people point out how silly the topic is you then get another thing to bash people about.

Threads like this do nothing to further real discussions and just push to make some stupid "us vs them" type of mentality.

I think you completely nailed it. It's just bitterness designed to provoke and provides nothing constructive.

If this thread was a car exhaust, we'd hear a loud bang.

Don't see the point of apologizing. Awareness will bring about a better camera for the iPhone 7 to help regain lost position on DxoMark where the 6s is currently 11th. If it wasn't for the brave outspoken ones iPhones wouldn't have large 4.7" and 5.5" screen options, 2GB DRAM and stronger better aluminum.

No, it wasn't people speaking out on Internet forums. Apple looked at how well larger Android devices were selling and acted accordingly.

I think this is a legitimate thread. If it was MS, Sony, LG, Samsung, etc - everyone (most) would be all over this like white on rice. Especially if someone tweeted back that they should have used an iPhone 6.

The interesting part for me isn't so much the photo itself or the commentary. It's that Tim Cook doesn't seem to understand social media (twitter in this case). OR - he sincerely posted it by accident and never bothered - or took too long - to check what he had posted.

The way I see it - the internet (twitter in this case) jumps on just about any faux pas. Folks here and in all forums jump on any faux pas. This is no different. No better. No worse.

Defensive much? I think all fans should have a sense of humor. That is the vein of this thread. If you can't see the humor or simply don't wish to then that is your choice. To participate in the discussion is also your choice.
Given the "shot on an iphone" commercials this is humorous whether you agree or not does not factor into it.
Looks like he may have removed it from his twitter yesterday.

The rest of the internet sphere did find it amusing.

correct they followed other companies lead in the market. Especially considering how much they spoke out against larger phones it in the past....But it turned out well for them! ;)

Humor is subjective, and nothing about this thread strikes me as funny. It just strikes me as 'oh look, something I can use to make a nonsense point'. Let's not even pretend this was about making a joke, though.

Oh, and I chose to participate in this discussion because simply ignoring it won't make the ignorant stop being ignorant. If you don't like criticism of your bait (other words are likely more applicable) threads, tough.

it won't make the humorless have humor and it won't make an apologist not be an apologist.
It won't make the defensive less defensive. It won't make the butt hurt less so as well. I too know more choice words that would be applicable. Then if you don't like the thread and it's humor...tough. See that works both way doesn't it.

Nothing about this thread. Or nothing about the incident? Because, I'm sorry - someone tweeting an image of his picture on a fake "shot on an iPhone" billboard, to me, is pretty amusing.

This thread. The tweet is amusing, and they put forth at least some effort. The same cannot be said of this thread.

If that's the case then those "everyone (most)" would simply be participating in the same "much ado about nothing" just the same.

It looks like the twitter photo was removed...

Tim Cook deletes blurry Super Bowl picture after Twitter ridicule

Presumably offended by the comments on his less-than-stellar handiwork, Cook (or his PR team) deleted the tweet with the offending image, leaving only an in-focus Super Bowl 50 shot from nine-hours 29 minutes later. Even it wasn’t anything to write home about, although perfectly acceptable for a smartphone, not “shot on iPhone” material.

I think what some people attempt to make out of something can potentially be amusing or curious, not the thing itself in this case.

yep....humor is subjective. But it is funny...given the shot on a iphone commercials. then the CEO takes such a blurry photo obviously with a iphone?

oh...the apple fandom doesn't think it funny? awww....
Too bad the rest of the internet does agree with you...

Maybe it was an iphone 7 prototype!
Yeah, again not the part of it all that I was referencing--the part of trying to make something out of essentially nothing.

I guess quoting the following post would have captured it better (in the context that it was made):
The attention that others are trying to attribute to something got my attention. Fairly different things.
With a splash of (also in the context that it was made):
I believe that's essentially defined as bait. :)

In any case, seems like we've gone in circles enough, so I'll just get back to:
And now we can all move on.

What's even funnier than the tweet itself is that TC blocked that user the moment he posted that tweet and then deleted that pic.Again he deserves the trolling.The smaller model camera has been getting a second class citizen treatment from Apple.Not everyone wants a huge phone and we need to compromise battery and camera for it

People are trying hard to read too much into a simple picture taken in the moment of a heated celebration that involved a lot of movement, both on the part of the subject(s) and more than likely the photographer.
[doublepost=1454996036][/doublepost]

Seems like one fairly fitting potential explanation as to why it's in the alternatives section is to potentially set up some sort of an "us vs. them" type of narrative, even when there isn't one that's actually there in relation to it.
It most definitely showed Tim Cook the need of OIS on the smaller model though

How is that funny? TC posted a bad picture. It happens to everyone with almost any camera. Own it. Also, smaller phone means you'll get compromises regardless of what you seem to want. It's called physics.

I guess since you aren't interested in this thread....you just quote yourself! LOL....good stuff!
[doublepost=1455164451][/doublepost]
Did you not see the Google link i posted? Aww just go up a few posts. :)
[doublepost=1455164647][/doublepost]
Then you know...some people will complain about anything....even humor :)

A) The bad link is nowhere near "everyone else on the Internet"
B) I have nothing against humor, I just have taste.
[doublepost=1455166773][/doublepost]
Where did I say I wasn't interested in the thread? Have you noticed that you seem to be misrepresenting and/or misunderstanding things fairly consistently?

Didn't you know? Criticizing him means you're not interested in the thread.

Your comment about smaller devices having compromises is wrong.The Galaxy s6 and s6 edge both have OSI and similar camera specs

Being an Apple CEO who brags about camera in all keynotes it's a foot in the mouth moment which is whys funny.He should have at least looked at the photo before sharing

well according to you.....that is this whole thread is not amusing and you seemed to be upset that it exists. Yet you are the biggest poster here except for me. Thanks for keeping the thread going! :)

This is exactly why this is funny. If it were any other CEO or any other company everyone here on MR would agree.
[doublepost=1455193682][/doublepost]
Has it actually been confirmed it's an iPhone?

A funny twist would be if it turned out it wasn't!
Maybe it was an iPhone 7 or a prototype IP7. But obviously with no OIS.

The third side to point out the irony of this situation. Although I'm finding it hard to see the irony when a (probably) walking fast/running TC took a quick snap of an exciting moment and no surprise it came out blurry as every other camera probably would have.
Wow the bias is off the charts.Any camera with OIS in it wouldn't have resulted in that blue.Thats what OIS is and mostly all modern day flagships have it except Apple because of their profit margins
