Mine is now picked up at Rancho Cordova, CA.
Approximately 400 miles (about 6hr 45min) from my home in Ventura County, CA. :D Estimated delivery Apr 30, by 3pm. :D
 
I called Fedex to ask them if my wife could pick it up at 9am and they said that the Shipper (Apple) won't let them make any changes to the delivery. He did make a note asking them not to deliver it until after 3pm, when my wife will be home.

Mine is finally on the move...just left the facility in TN. I'm going to do the pre-sign thing so I can go on my morning walk without worrying that Fedex will come as soon as I get a block away.
 
I placed my order March 12, 2010 9:12 PM PDT. I already got my confirmation email appx 11 am this morning for delivery of my 64GB 3G iPad tomorrow. Funny thing is they have not charged my credit card yet. They went through all the normal pre-authorizations but I figured that they would do the actual charge before shipping. That surprises me. But that is not a problem for me as I have lots of credit available.
 
Mine is also in Nashville, TN, 328 miles away or 6 hours and 32 minutes.

Now if I were to jump in the car and drive down there and beg a security guard and get it and drive right back I could have it back here about 3 hours before Fedex should deliver it.

Nah, with my luck I'd pass it on the way down there, I think I stand a better chance of just waiting.

15 hours and 55 minutes, but hey, who's counting anyway!

Finally mine has shipped. Picked up in Schaumburg, IL coming to Houston by 3pm tomorrow.
 
By the way I notice a number of people on this thread have noted that Apple has not charged their CC's yet even though their iPads have started moving. I'm one of those people.

Do you think that because of our fierce loyalty to Apple, our patience in waiting until Very Late April for our magical units, and because Apple owners are better looking and such fine specimens of humanity that Steve Baby has declared that we should all get them for free?

Except of course for those who got them accidentally today, they will be charged for ALL of them. :)
 
Security measures

Regarding the forms to "presign" for a shipment. It seems likely that many nefarious types are probably aware that Fedex trucks will be leaving little boxes on the front porches of nice homes all over America tomorrow. Their trucks are not exactly difficult to spot. A smart theif could just follow a truck into the burbs and ... well, it's not a pretty picture.

I think I just persuaded myself to stay home, bake bread, and read a moral philosophy book.
 
FedEx Shipping is not logical to me...

Route to Dallas goes from Nashville, TN. to Mt. Juliet, TN., then to (are you ready for this?)

64GB shipped this afternoon. Shipping out of Rancho Cordova, CA and arriving in Scottsdale, AZ tomorrow. :D
