Any idea what time it’ll be released on Steam? I’m sitting here dying to start playing haha. :D

Today. :D

Here's some gameplay running every setting at Ultra, and on except for FXAA which I think dulls some textures.

The game is fantastic!

1pm in the UK and still not on Steam.
Even though I played this all the way through on Windows, I'm quite looking forward to playing it again on the Mac.
Superb game!

Nice job on the video. At first I didn't think it was on ultra settings... or TressFX was just turned off... but at 1:04... Really??? No TressFX? ... but that's what makes game beautiful. Even next gen consoles got TressFX in the definitive edition. Very sad if true... :(

I hope they update and enable TressFX for Mac gamers. I don't know how many times I've paused my gameplay just to stare and watch Lara's individual strands of hair swaying in the back... and in front of her face.:p

TressFX requires AMD to implement the API on the Mac. The game can support it (and the code is ready if it happens) but the feature does not exist. It's the same as the PS3 and 360, they don't have TressFX either as the feature is missing from the platform.

If in the future it is released turning it on should be a very simple process.

Crikey! I've just realised how long ago that was!! Yes, I'm talking TR1. I must've stopped playing them before the new controls came in.

I'm also JUST using the keyboard. I assume you're talking about using the mouse and keyboard together? Must give that a try. :D

I'm with erayser, Tressfx is beautiful. I played the game with bootcamp and always had it turned on, even though it caused a slight performance hit on my old iMac. My new machine doesn't have an AMD card, so I suppose Tressfx will not be enabled even under bootcamp?

Haha! I keep hearing it's a love or hate thing with TressFX.

I can say though that even with my little GTX660 it looks great, when you get those close face ***** you can see the wrinkles, and pores on her face. :D

TressFX works in Bootcamp with an Nvidia card, but you take a huge performance hit compared to using an AMD card (about 10-15 fps drop on my 780M, if memory recalls).

It's definitely worth it. Keyboard-only controls favored older games as the camera was less dynamic. Now the camera and the game area is more wide, more dynamic, so having a mouse to look/direct the character while keys are used for making the actual steps gives you more freedom (also helps you enjoy the great environment of the game).

I'd also suggest to try WASD keys instead of cursor keys. Many games give only this option, while it is also easier to press some other buttons as well (like space bar).

Time to add it to your bucket list because... you can play it in surround...:)
Skyrim tri-surround picture

I just linked the pic so this thread doesn't get hijacked with other games. Skyrim game plays well in tri-monitor surround... but Tomb Raider looks just as good and fully immersive gameplay in surround.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but will this run smoothly on a 2012 11" MacBook Air with stock configuration?

I can't seem to access my saved games from the Windows side. Anyone else having the same issue? It shows my progress and time played, but if I select Continue from the main game screen it jumps me right down to the New Game section instead.

The save games aren't compatible across platforms.

Good to know. The bigger fear would be starting a new game here and having it wipe my progress from the Windows wide...
I asked about this earlier in the thread. edddeduck confirmed that they tested to make sure this wouldn't happen. Existing save games for Windows platform shouldn't/won't be overwritten.

Downloading now! I will let people know how it runs on my base-model 11inch 2013 Air later on! (Already confirmed I'm happy with the way it runs on bootcamp -- about 30fps according to game's benchmark.)

Mac and PC have different save game formats. Mac uses files that have MACDAT instead of the PC with DAT.

What? If it supports Steam Cloud it should work exactly as any other Steam Cloud enabled game. Otherwise it is lie.

Yeah, I guess I don't fully understand this either. It shows the "Steam Cloud" label on the right vertical info bar in Steam. Batman Arkham City swaps back and forth for me.

I will confirm that starting a new game on the Mac did not impact my Windows progress.

Correct me if I'm wrong but when a title is "steam play"-enabled it simply means that you can enjoy on multiple OS's. Besides to be fair you should be happy enough that you got the mac version for free.

Edwin from Feral also confirmed prior to the game's release that the windows save files would not work with the mac version.
