Guys, can you check your touch id button for me? Does it rattle a bit when you use it. I've just received a replacement MacBook pro from apple, and the touch id is a little rattly whereas my previous unit is solid. Just wanted to see if theres slight engineering tolerances or if they've sent me a dud.

Does anyone else have a touch ID button that feels a little cheap? Mine clicks and clacks back and forth when you touch it.
Yes, and my the MBP prior to this replacement was solid as a rock!

I agree that the tabs in Safari are far too small to be usable. I would really like to be able to use the touchbar to switch between different desktop spaces....

So, when will Apple release a keyboard with a touch bar? Adoption of the touch bar is already iffy enough to not support it by more than a sliver (albeit a big one) of your product offerings.

Next iMac upgrade, probably Spring 17.

Is it just me, or does the touchbar seem to make no sense when it comes to actual usability?

It's not just you dear. Every second person I come across seem to be cursing Apple for launching a touch bar when you don't actually need in a laptop. And that is the reason why the Touch bar Mac has lower sales than expected. People who are purchasing it are either one of the biggest Apple fans or are just buying the MBPs for the sake of experience.

Sorry to disagree.

Adobe Photoshop is now touch bar enabled and Davinci video editing suite also just launched. As more and more software are updated for the touch bar, and with the benefit of time, people will start paying attention to that first row on the keyboard.

Surely right now it seems a gimmick. At some point in time most people also preferred the ubiquitous "mouse" versus the trackpad... Time moves one. Old habits die hard, new habits take a while to form.

A laptop is a 5-6 year investment. Not buying something because TODAY it is not useful but will be very useful in the foreseeable future is not a smart decision IMO.

that is the only problem on mine .. I would hate to swap it out since the computer has no other issues besides that

I realize this may have been covered elsewhere, but 21 pages, and I just joined, so I thought I'd ask. Is there anyway in the standard Touch Bar, I can bring the three volume and three screen brightness keys into the bar permanently. I don't like having to press the button then use the slider and/or expand the TB using the arrows. I'd like constant one touch access to Vol Up/Down and Screen Brightness Up/Down.

For both volume and brightness, it's "one touch" already, as in press-slide-release. Did you mean to do it differently?

(And btw, while press-n-slide is a great trick, I don't like how it's not clearly presented, which means that someone has to either discover it accidentally or hear about it from someone else)

Lol, no... You misunderstood me, dude... Although this is the fact that nobody is accepting the new change at once. Even I'm not in the favour to purchase one of the touch bar devices. And I've never heard any good thoughts about it; at least not till yet.
But I did not mean to say that this is a bad idea. Apple has many of the brilliant minds that work to make the brand better and better. If the touch bar devices have lower sales yet, it can be increased later on. My point was that I and my social circle are in the stage of disliking the touch bar like the one who started the thread and that's it :)

I get it dude. You are a "me too" kind a guy. When everyone of your friends jump in the touchbar bandwagon you will find it "cool" and buy a TB MacBook.

Personally I really like the touchbar. Its not that useful in most apps but when apps have used it properly its good and I really like the ability to scrub through videos on the web in safari.

Guys,

I have accidentally sent a load of e-mails half way through typing them - by simply grazing the "send" button on the touch-bar with my little finger whilst typing....or while hitting the 1/! key!! Arghhhh!!!!

Is there any way to delete the "send" button (the paper airplane) - from the default Touchbar when in a new mail??? Its killing me!

Likely an option to modify what gets shown on the Touch Bar - I don't use the email program you do so am not sure

What evidence do you have to back this statement up?

Funny you start looking for evidence and you run into what looks like a bunch of conflicting or fake news. Is nothing factual anymore?

These features of touch bar are amazing because I'm using Macbook Pro Retina for last 2 years but and after watching the above I think this is the most successful machine of Mac.

Agreed, its way to easy to accidentally send. I agree with having it there if one would have to hold it for a second to actually send. Anyway here is how to remove it:

Open mail app > create new mail > Click "view" in menu bar > customise touch bar > drag the airplane away from the touch bar. Done!

Look at you the expert on all things Apple. The touch bar is great addition.

This is strangely amusing. Randomly press predicted words on the touch bar and you get some strangely coherent poetry:

The first man of a relationship with the lord who is a father and a father who would like a man to make sure you get the chance to win it and the world and the world cup in his life and his career.

Lets see some of your touch bar poetry! :)

One touch is enabled by default. Just place your finger on the button, slide up or down, and then lift your finger. You don't need to select the button, then go to the slider, then deselect the slider.
