After installing the latest version, I had unusual freeze ups of the OSX. I did update a driver as you suggested on your blog, via Recovery HD, but still I had the same problem. Even though I don't have a Trim enabled now, an Erase Free space is unavailable in Disk Utility. Also I can't use any HDD speed tests as I did before, such as AJA System test. Test just doesn't work on this particular drive, it does work on others.
I had no problem with this enabler under Snow Leopard.

MacPro late 2008 + Crucial 256GB SSD + 10.7.2

Apples trim implementation does not work for all drives.

Erase Free Space is disabled on the system drive in Lion, has nothing to do with trim enabler.

Hi,

I download the last version of TRIM Enabler 2.0 beta 3 with the same result: :(

Translate:

"TRIM Enabler has unexpectedly quit
Click Restart to reopen the application. Click Report to see more detailed information and send a report to Apple
Ignore Report Reboot app"

At the end of this post are the log archive. I hope this help you ;)

Thanks in advance for your great work :apple:

I'm shortly hoping to install a 256Mb Crucial M4 SSD in my Macbook Pro running OS X Lion 10.7.2 - I'm unclear whether its a good idea or not to run Trim Enabler with this drive - the M4 has some built-in "garbage collection", though I hear its not that great, but would this conflict with the enabling TRIM in the OS?

I've tried to trawl through some posts about TRIM and the M4, but the information seems inconclusive and/or contradictory! Any guidance would be most welcome, thanks!

Another Oxford guy in the same position here! Did you find the answer? Can anyone summarise the general guidance?

that post refers to previous versions never meant for Lion, Trim Enabler 2.0 edits the driver directly, just like the terminal script but much more user friendly. SL + Lion compatible.

Thanks for the reply, but I was also referring to the comments on that post, especially the comments (eg 1 2 3) that I link to in my SuperUser question. Any comment on those, or evidence from the extended use of your enabler you've doubtless witnessed?

As to you enabler, can you post the code or terminal commands it uses? If simple terminal commands will achieve this I'd rather run them myself. Will the commands at http://digitaldj.net/2011/07/21/trim-enabler-for-lion/ work in 10.7.2 with my Crucial M4 SSD.

I have used previous version of trim enabler, is there a way to restore the original file and use trim enable 2 or enter the commands in terminal manually?

The link in the post above yours tells how to restore the file from the recovery partition.

Thanks it worked I restored the original file.

I have downloaded the latest version of trim enable, before I do anything is trim needed with my intel 80gb ssd?

I have a strange behavior with Lion, when I almost full up my SSD (1GB free space) the spotlight begins reindexing. That happens every time.
I know I shouldn't full up my SSD but it's difficult not to (Intel X25 120GB).
Anybody experienced same symptoms?
I also have TRIM enabled.

This problem has been fixed now, check website. Thanks for log!

I get this too on Lion, but with a normal hard drive. It must be a Lion issue.

Beta4 crashing at launch on my 2008 MP with its shiny new 240GB OCZ Agility 3, gets a bit farther than 3 did, this time it displays the window with the 3 buttons (Trim, SMART, About) on top. It *did* work flawlessly on my MM (60GB OCZ Vertex 2) and MBP (120GB Mushkin Callisto) though, so I can report that it's been fixed there at least :)

anyone use an intel 320 series sata II/III ssd with this?

its not for the main hd bay its for the 2nd SSD i have in the optical bay. and it is telling me that it only recognizes the apple ssd

Trim Enabler just looks for the first SSD to set the SSD Name text field.
Anyway that is just cosmetic. Has nothing to do with how the app patches.

However some people have reported that TRIM in OSX does not yet work for more SSD's then 1.
