Nice one, I sold my iPad Pro 13inch for a 2020 Macbook Air earlier this year and haven't regretted it for a second.

I am considering selling my 2020MBA and picking up an M1 MBA.

Is eBay the best place to sell? I try and avoid eBay if I can.
I sold mine on eBay but be prepared for the fees. You can check how much you'd get after fees here: https://finalfeecalc.co.uk (provided you know the selling price. I did a Buy It Now).

Only used eBay twice and it's fairly good for getting a good price, but I despise the way either eBay or PayPal "hold" your funds hostage for a while, the opaqueness in contacting them and the fees are quite steep.

I don't think I could ever bring myself to sell my iPad pro with magic keyboard...but damn that mac looks good... nice purchase :)
Me neither! But the lack of ability to do my web coding on it, plus the lack of meaningful multitasking improvements and irritating implementation of Widgets compared to iPhone, caused me to do so.

Will consider an iPad Pro again in the future.

Amazon is giving credit now?

I'm not ordering as a I have a 2020 MacBook Pro and M1 cannot support Parallels yet. Do any of you use Parallels or any visualisation software? What are you upgrading from and what kind of performance driven tasks do you do?
I believe I read the requirements were:
1. Have an amazon account for at least 1 years
2. Have an active credit card on the account

Macbook Air 8 core GPU 16GB RAM + 512GB SSD, although i'd love to know how UK peeps are getting it on 18th November, i ordered mine under a minute after the store went live and i'm looking at 23-25th November.

I believe I read the requirements were:

2. Have an active credit card on the account

2. is not even required, i've only got a debit card on the account.

eBay are doing £1 seller fees from Friday on my account so I'd only have to pay PayPal fees... might be the perfect time to sell.

Be careful if selling on eBay. Someone bought my old windows laptop for £300, they said it was broken.

they returned and showed tracking, but returned heavy weights instead of the laptop.

paypal refunded them under buyer protection. I didn’t realise I got scammed, I thought the weights came to me by accident.

now I only use gumtree/shpock

Just had a online chat with an Apple Retail agent.
Apparently the new laptops only allow for one external monitor, no matter what resolution they run at.
I may have to have a closer look at the Mac Mini for myself, or see if I can adjust to the 13 inch laptop screen plus one monitor whilst at my desk ?

Where did you see that a 16 GB ships to the UK on November 18?

18th will be for the stock configurations.

I’ve gone for the cheapest Air, as I will pick up the ASi iMac redesign when that comes out. I have no doubt that this Air at £899 (edu price) will be a really solid machine and super silent.

They're not. Any custom spec won't be delivered on the 18th.
I've gone with the 8/8/16/512 version and have a delivery date of the 25th.

Going for the Mini, standard spec. Arrives Tues.

Am waiting to see reviews of MBA/MBP before I pull the trigger on a purchase there, my 2017 MBP is still doing OK, despite the dodgy keyboard.

Anyone know when we might see some reviews?
If they launch on Tuesday, then I'd expect reviews from this weekend, the Tech YouTubers normally get the goods a couple of days in advance.

Marques Brownlee has probably been using it for a month...

I missed that £100 discount for uni students, I assume that staff are considered in that.

Would it be possible to point me to the link?

I usually buy most of machines abroad while on travel (or through a reserach grant) and don't check the private purchase options regularly.

Unidays account - system just sends confirmation to your .ac.uk account. However if you don't have an ac.uk email account you're out of luck.

If you search unidays and signup there, then look for the Apple link it will take you to the discounted education page.

Just saw it. I've already done a DD from my account. I guess I could cancel the order and then re-order but I don't think I could contact Apple and ask for the discount, or?
