I assume then, that you're oblivious to world events? UPS have not done physical returns receipts since March, as soon as an item is picked up you're automatically given a digital receipt direct to your email address. UPS driver would have been well within his rights to refuse the collection.
No not oblivious to the current situation.
Your comments on the service provided by UPS differ from my experience of a few days ago.
The UPS agent was very courteous (unlike some on this site) he explained no receipt would be given paper or via email.
My return label was mailed to me by Apple. Only certain return labels generate emails to the returner.
The UPS guy went out of his way to explain this. So armed with a signed receipt I was happy to let my 3 items go to UPS. I never did receive mail from UPS, tracking was not possible as the mailed label had no tracking number on it.
The only way i could track my 3 parcels was to visit the Apple site log into my account and via the returns section you end up with a graphic showing the current situation. Have to say it worked well. Collected Wednesday around 2pm my first 2 items showed arrived Thursday evening and my MBA the following day. That was standard service not fast track !
First time I have ever returned Apple goods. I have bought lots and I do mean a lot. Visiting the USA at least twice a year made me a target for please can you get me one. The exchange rate topped out 1 trip at $2 to the £ ( many years ago) On top of that Apple staff told me they also price matched with a max off of 10%. That may be different now.
To all enjoy your new M1 devices. I was rather unfortunate.
