My MBP is in the UK at last! It’s just arrived at Stanford-Le-Hope after leaving cologne last night. Here’s hoping it gets delivered tomorrow
Hoping mine was with yours and will be scanned at Stanford-Le-Hope shortly. Nothing yet. My tracking says it left Cologne at 3:54am CET. What time did yours leave Cologne?

Mine finally arrived at my door yesterday. Absolutely loving this thing so far. Few software bugs here and there but to be expected as an early adopter of both a new OS and a whole new hardware platform and it's nothing that won't be smoothed out in the future.

Very happy with my purchase, this thing absolutely ***** all over not only my previous 2015 i5 MBP but even a latest gen i9 MBP which costs £2.8k... that is utterly insane!

And the battery life, just wow. I've not experienced such a lack of battery anxiety on any laptop with this much power before. Only my Chromebook has comparable battery life because it has such a weak CPU. The fact this thing is such a performance beast yet I find myself not worrying about plugging it in all day is simply insane.

I'm sure this will shape up to be the best tech purchase I've made in a long time once all the main apps I use upgrade to universal binaries and for full Big Sur support and bugs are ironed out in Big Sur itself.

Did the compulsory Geekbench test and the single core performance of this machine is miles ahead of both my 2015 i5 MBP and 2019 i7 Thinkpad, while the multicore performance just leaves them in the dust.

I am gonna try out some more real life tests like running a Handbrake transcode and see how that compares to my 8th gen i5 NUC. I suspect the MBA will have a rapid initial burst but suffer from throttling with the fanless design. Additionally, Handbrake is still an Intel binary and with it being an open source project no idea how long it'll take to properly be ported over to the M1. But once it is, and it's no longer running under Rosetta 2 and can fully take advantage of the dedicated video processing hardware in the M1 SoC, I think it will seriously fly even with the CPU throttling.

Mine moved from Stanford-Le-Hope to Tamworth and then on to Deesside (local depot) over night, out or delivery this afternoon. Registered with UPS so I could add some delivery instructions but its useless, shows up in tracking but not as a parcel being delivered today so can't modify anything. Best hope the wife isn't on the school run when it turns up!

According to Apple.com mine will be showing up in more than one bit!

Photos is still doing its behind-the-scenes synch thing, but I'm at the time of day where I'd have been thinking about a top-up of the battery and the MBA is at 66%.

Mine has finally arrived in Belfast! More than likely won't be out for delivery now until tomorrow.

The depot isn't to far from me! I am tempted to go down now and see if they will let me collect it. Anyone had any experience?

(UPS via HKG and CGN : MBP 16/512 ordered on the 10th just after the event)

Mine has also just arrived at Stanford-Le-Hope. Looks like we're in the same crate. My previous with UPS has always been good. Not so much this time! Three days in HK and then 2 days stuck in Cologne.

Mine arrived yesterday - at about 9am having been in Heathrow over the weekend.

So far I am very impressed. It's not that any one thing is fundamentally different from my previous MacBook (soon to be on eBay!), but the accumulation of lots of little things that add up to a very positive experience.

compared to my 'old' 2018 13 inch MBP I get:

- much better battery life
- lack of heat
- no fan noise
- no touch bar
- snappy and responsive (not that the 2018 was a slouch)
- big SSD (I splurged for 2TB)
- much better keyboard
- graphics powerful enough for games like Civ / XCOM

So far, so good!

FML. They attempted delivery when the wife was on the school run. Tomorrow it is.

Follow up on this...So I just went down to the depot and explained that my parcel was due to be delivered today but it must have been delayed but the tracking says it's in the delivery depot.

Lovely women in the DHL office took my tracking number and went and got it for me!!!
