I think after wanting a Macbook Pro for so long I'm ready to hit the button and order a 13" M1.

8GB of ram is fine for me as I won't be a heavy user. The air is probably more suited to my use but I prefer the look of the pro better and the little extras it has. Weather they will make a difference to me I have no idea.

Very excited as this will be my first ever Mac :)

Ordered Air for my 12 year old (Birthday+Christmas).

Took a bit of persuading Apple for educational prices due to his autism. Amazed they don’t have a policy in place for this, at least not in the UK. Clearly not important enough for Apple/Tim to respond to my email/tweet.

LOL. Left Stanford-le-hope three hours ago. I live not far away from Stanford-le-hope, so I guess it passed my house not long ago. Or maybe just went in the opposite direction... still no ETA.

Mine left Stanford at the same time as yours. Was hoping it was coming to the Southampton depot. But given that it’s not been scanned yet I suspect it’s probably going to Tamworth, which means no MBP today.

Certainly worth a try. They advertise their Express Saver service as 3 days from Asia. They are way off the mark so I little cooperation regarding in-person collection would be welcome.

Despite changing the delivery to a drop off point they delivered my MBP to my house this morning, just caught the missus leaving, lucky. UPS, consistently unpredictable! Fun begins tonight :)

Did yours show up at the depot? Mine left Stanford same time as yours. No scan since. I have visions of a UPS driver enjoying a greasy burger from a van in a motorway lay-by somewhere.

Ordered a MBA on date of pre-orders, shipped Monday 23rd but via DHL. Not a single DHL update since other than 'shipment info received'. Is that normal?

Maybe UPS are now using push bikes or horse and cart.

This must be pretty annoying... Mine was in the same plane as all yours, arrived in Cologne and then apparently took another plane to Berlin (which is pretty uncommon within Germany). Arrived exactly in the middle of the timeframe UPS projected on Monday. Love the MBP and haven't charged it since then ?

Hope you get yours asap! Looks like DHL performs actually better in the UK, except for the tracking part.

It is indeed annoying. Trying not to publicly throw the proverbial teddy on the forum. After all, it’s the ultimate first world problem. But my opinion of UPS has taken a dent.

Same here, expecting it to come to Ayrshire, no idea when it is coming, tried to phone UPS, not joy and an automatic phone system. So I have complained to Apple, especially since I have no idea now when it will arrive. PS check out the Trustpilot review for UPS, ouch.

I feel your pain. If I'd charged a customer for a three day shipping service from Asia, I'd at least feel compelled to offer them some sort of explanation and a firm ETA when they call me on the ninth day asking where their package is.

Dear lord! I just checked Trustpilot. That is brutal. One star. Even Hermes managed 4 stars and they are truly abysmal.

Fantastic, out of interest which anti-virus agent will you be installing if any? Thnx
In my 30+ years of using a Mac, never installed antivirus. Generally not something to worry about on a Mac.
Any malware on a mac is usually something you might be tricked into downloading and running/give your password to. So as long as you don't download from anywhere suspicious, and use common sense, you'll be fine.

To keep this slightly on topic.. MBA 16/1TB ordered on 19th, still Processing.

What's the quoted delivery window for orders on the 19th?
