Well, it's an option for some. It worked out fine for me as at the time I ordered, my specification M1 Mini was also a 3 week delay direct from Apple UK. I took a gamble and it paid off as the Mac mini arrived perfectly fine (4 week delivery) and I saved £100.
You were very lucky then. I was curious about the company and a quick Google showed my initial reservations were correct. So many people with terrible experiences and difficulty getting their money back.
If anyone is considering taking a gamble , do your research first.

You saved 100, it took a week more than buying from Apple, and the risk it is fake....I pass

I’m also stuck in Cologne. Initially changed the address to where I’m spending Christmas as the delivery date was brought forward by two weeks, but now I’m going to wish I had left it because it’ll likely be delayed even further.

Fake? Have you heard they sell fake products?

Listen, I understand people are weary. But this is a successful report of buying an M1 Mac from this place, not an unsuccessful one.

As I said, it’s an option that’s available to some. Pay using PayPal for protection, as always. Be aware it will take 4 weeks delivery. And you could really save £100-£150 compared to Apple direct.

Glad it worked out for you. It’s also worth hearing that others haven’t had the best experiences. With a lot of these companies the risk is more about what happens when something goes wrong. For example, how easy is it to get a refund if your product is faulty or if the package gets lost.

For me, I’m lucky enough to be able to access education pricing as I’ve been doing a course through work so I saved more buying direct from Apple.

Ouch a horrible delay.

It will be worth it when it arrives!

My mini came before Christmas and has been a joy to use.

My Mac had now left Cologne 9 days after arriving there. Hoping it arrives this week!

I was extremely lucky to take delivery just before all the coronavirus lorry driver delays. Mine traveled to Stanford le hope but didn’t arrive until 11pm after experiencing delays in the eurotunnel. So it sat there for a day before departing at 11pm the following day. Delivery was the day after that. They won’t be delivering on Friday so if you miss sorting at Stanford tonight, it might creep into Saturday or next week. I’d try and get it into your mind that it’ll be next week and if it arrives earlier it’ll be a bonus. I imagine there’ll be a bit of a backlog after all the disruption.

It’ll be worth it when it arrives!

I'm really glad everything went well for you with them.
I'd never use them myself, too many bad stories and I've always been weary of their warranty situation.
This for instance is a big no-no for me - from their website, emphasis mine:

Q. What is the difference between your stock and local stock?
A: There are no functional differences between our stock and local stock. The major difference is that all our stock is warranted by TecoBuy UK instead of having local manufacturer’s warranty.

On that subject, have you bought AppleCare+ or checked your warranty status on the Apple website?
I'm curious as to why TecoBuy say there's no manufacturers warranty, I was sure Apple's was worldwide.

But all of that aside, I wouldn't have the patience anyway. I mean 4 weeks for delivery I could maybe cope with, but what if something went wrong? You could be without a computer for up to/more than 2 months. And even if they decide it has a genuine problem, they (according to their terms and conditions) reserve the right to replace it, or give you a store credit which is only a maximum of 80% the value of your purchase. No thanks.

So yeah, I'm really glad it worked out for you, and I really hope you don't have any problems with it.
But personally, I think I'd rather pay the Apple price.

I haven’t taken AppleCare + with the Mac Mini yet and I’ve got until end of January if I want to add it.

The M1 Mac Mini does show up in my list of products on the iPhone Apple Support app.

Just like my iPhone 12 Pro Max that came from Apple U.K. direct, the Mac has Apple worldwide warranty for a year.

This is fortunate simply because it’s an Apple product and that’s how Apple’s warranty works. If this was a different manufacturer that you had bought from Tecobuy then things could be a lot different.

That's not so bad, I thought that statement was a bit unusual, for an Apple product anyway.

Very lucky!

Fingers crossed it arrives tomorrow, otherwise I’ll have to get it redirected across the country ?

It’s such a faff with trade-in as well - they give you 14 days to send the old Mac back, othetwise the deal isn’t valid. Because it’s almost been 14 days and I don’t have the new Mac, they’ve had to send another box out (why they can’t just extend it I don’t know - waste of a return kit!)

But don’t forget, U.K. stock bought over here is actually covered for up to 6 years under the consumer protection laws, I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t offer that for a Mac bought in another country, but used here.

Apart from the box saying Apple Malaysia, unless the serial number gives away the country, there is no way to tell that the Mac mini is an import. It's been set up completely as a UK/British Mac...or is there?

I’d be surprised if Apple didn’t know which country it was supplied to. I think they have used serial numbers and country of origin to block features before - watch functions, for example.

I noticed today that Very, which still has all the base factory configs of the MBA and MBP available, have started listing them all at increased prices, but on sale at the current Apple prices. For example, the base MBA is still £999, but their actual list price is £1059. Same for the other models, all are increased by £60, but currently on sale for the Apple retail price.

I wonder if this indicates a general price hike is coming soon. Coronavirus and Brexit, and associated freight difficulties, might be pushing the price up.

I’m slightly confused by expected delivery dates. I ordered on 3 Dec an MBA 8C/16GB/2TB and got an expected delivery of 27 Jan originally.

Now looks like it’s shipped on 9 Jan and now I’ve got so many delivery dates:
Apple Store app: 27 Jan
Apple website: 12 Jan
Apple shipped notification email: 20 Jan
UPS: now it’s gone and shows delayed in transit and is still in Shanghai.

Any guesses who’s right here?

The detailed ups tracking is your best bet. But I wouldn’t take any of it as set in stone until it’s out for delivery. I had delays in several places as it tracked through the system. Euro tunnel delays as the package tracks from cologne to Stanford are pretty common

I keep trying to get into UPS My Choice and it perpetually tells me it can't fulfil my sign up request. I guess I'm in the dark unless anyone has had recent experience with the delay starting in Shanghai. Somehow I doubt Apple's 12 January (tomorrow!) estimate is going to be right.

This will be correct, the Apple information is delayed guessing, I had this with mine back in Nov. Use the detailed UPS tracking that will keep you up to date. Once it leaves Shanghai you will get a more useful date to work from.

Well my UPS status just got updated. It's still in Shanghai apparently. It's scheduled for UK delivery on Thursday the 14th, two days after Apple's website's estimate. Better than the 20th in the email I guess. Now to see if UPS can (pun intended) deliver.

Sorry but I can’t see that happening. It’s a day’s travel to cologne and then it travels from there to Stanford (usually overnight). Then overnight from Stanford to your delivery depot. Then out for delivery the following morning.

I found that Apple's estimate for spot on for me, there were a lot of delays getting it to me due to channel tunnel delays, UPS delays before Christmas etc.

I expect some of the Christmas rush will have disappeared, but there are probably now other logistical challenges thanks to Brexit/customs requirements etc.
