Split screen picture by picture for the two work macs… now I’m hoping I don’t need a kvm to switch the mouse and keyboard between them.

I know universal control is coming on Monterey so that might do the trick. Only issue is work blocking any type of feature that allows sharing from a device.

Haha feels like it!

Went from a 14” Max 32gb/1TB in space gray

To

14” Pro 10/16 16gb/1TB in silver

To finally

14” Pro 8/14 32gb/1TB in silver

Every review I watched from placing my order on day of release showed me I’d never scratch the surface with a max. Then all the comparisons of the binned 8/14 compared to the 10/16 only showed a small difference in performance so decided to change again and bump up the ram.

Plus the silver colour looked soo good when I saw it in store!
I started with the 14” base 8/14 16gb/512gb in space grey and swapped it out for the 14” Pro 10/16 16gb/1TB in silver which was your second choice 😜

I'm in the exact same boat as you. DHL "November, 19 2021 17:31 Local time | Shipment picked up (SHANGHAI - CHINA MAINLAND)" along with a text message including tracking number and nothing since. It is pretty common not to see any updates till the shipment is scanned in the UK.

Apple states the item will arrive Fri Nov 26th. I expect to see an update on the 25th. (order placed 29th October)

Yep that's the one!! I have no real estimate of an exact date so I assume I'll get an update once it gets to the UK :D

The bigger SSD was a must for me. 16gb would have probably been fine too but though dropping to the 8/14 and using that to get more ram was finally the build that wouldn’t leave me thinking I’ve missed out.

Proper setup that.
For years I've been trying to solve the multiple device/unified KVM problem as my work also prohibit any unifying software and bluetooth.
Thoughts on the 1440p resolution? I had to get a 4k monitor to go alongside my ultra wide as just couldn't work with that PPI.

Any pics of your silver along side your awesome desk set up?

Ordered myself a base 14" with 1TB SSD in Silver last night. Estimated delivery 6th - 13th Dec. Will be sticking with this one after cancelling 2 orders and returning a 10/16/16/1TB. Found the best option for my use now as I don't need a powerhouse machine but do need the extra storage.

Been indecisive this year but it's a lot of money to spend and didn't want to go overboard. Would rather upgrade a year or two earlier than go silly and feel like I have to keep the laptop longer to justify the price.

That’s the first thing you do notice.. been spoilt looking at retina screens for the past two years and not my dodgy office monitor.

1440p is a noticeable difference but I’m not doing any video/photo editing so having the best wasn’t the top of my list of priorities. Having the ability to do picture by picture in ultra wide, usb-c (and looking pretty sweet) we’re

Urgh ups update has now changed my delivery date from Thursday 25th to Monday 29th!
Bad luck friend, that’s really annoying. Always particularly irritating when a weekend gets in the way to create an additional two day delay.

Still well ahead of original schedule I suppose.

With any luck it’s just an erroneous report, some sort of glitch, and it will switch back to Friday. 🤞🏼

Very nice and clean set up. It looks like you will be breaking records and servers for UK iPhone Pre order thread. Can't wait till your order arrives.

Yeah seems like it’s planned as most seem to come on a Friday or Monday. Hoping it’s just starts moving tonight given it’s cleared customs in Shanghai already. My luck will mean it just sits annoyingly in a warehouse until the weekend

Ok, so the strangest thing happened now. I ordered my 16" model on the 24th October, with student discount. They instantly processed my payment and got the money from my card.
But right now, a few minutes earlier, I got a refund from them! I guess they are doing movements now with my card and that might be that they'll ship the Mac. But it's quite weird.
Has this happened to anyone here?

Hello,

You can use barrier to share mouse/keyboard between your two machines. Free software and works very well. It is not native M1 but I had no problems running it. Just install on each machine, set one as server (the one with the keyboard and mouse), other as client, and you are in business.
