Any idea what the recommended resolution is for a retina “like” experience on a 32-35” ultra wide monitor?

At the moment I have a 4K 27” LG screen but am looking for more space!

Let me know if you find something!
Would love an ultra widescreen with thunderbolt support and the Samsung cj791 ticked nearly all those boxes apart from the significant curve on it. Need something less imposing which lets me to side by side with two inputs together.

If you get something like the Plugable or OWC TB4 hubs, I think you should get close. 1 TB4 to the mac, 3 out on the other side. So you can connect 2 screens and your TB/USB 10GbE. Or 1 TB screen, daisy chain the other, then use the free port for a regular USB hub. I'm considering this myself for a one-cable-only connection between my mac and everything else (screen, mouse, keyboard, audio interface, synth, ...)
Thanks I'll take a look. I would have preferred a hub/dock with built in 10Gb Ethernet but I can't seem to find any which don't have quite noisy fans.

i am seeing £1804 too. Has anyone been able to get the NHS 10% discount on top of the £1804 price?

Doesn't seem to actually be 10% on the new devices:

When you create a new account, they ask if you are school, student or educator. When you choose one of those you get the lower prices, you aren't asked to prove it.

Ah yeah. Thanks. Can confirm NHS discount is not applied on top of these - it's one or the other, and they end up at near enough the same price either way.

Not heard of these guys before but discount looks reasonable.

It does say in there discount policy that they will get in touch before dispatch to confirm your education status and ask you to send documentation through

Do you have the link to their discount policy? I work in education and wondered what documentation they need.

I've gone with silver 14in 10corePro 16gb/1tb. Coming from a 2019 i9 16gb 1tb heater.

Drives an LG Ultrafine 5k.

I may (MAY) at some point in the first two weeks end up changing it for a 16in - depending on battery and what the extra weight actually feels like - or a 32gb, depending on my own on-desk experience with the unified memory and swap sizes - or going to M1Max (very unlikely), depending on benchmarks and real world testing.

anyone else in the 4th-8th Nov camp hoping for a bump up? If it wasn't for the apple store falling apart on all devices I'd have snagged one for the earlier 28th Oct-4th nov (or something around those dates) bracket!

what the earliest people are expecting their BTO devices?

looking forward to those early impressions on Monday!

the LG ultra wide nearly ticks all the boxes apart from a single TB port.

need something I can use my work 16"MBP and the new M1 side by side on a single screen. This supports Picture by Picture but don't want to have to use the HDMI for the M1M

Exact same situation as me. I think it’s going to be a beast, but I’m partly wishing I’d gone 32gb for some headroom. I’ll take the 14 days to decide, but by then the 32GB versions will no doubt be months away.
