Ordered the 11" Pro 256gb in Space Black along with the Magic Keyboard last night, first foray into Pro's as I only tend to change up every 4/5 years.

My current one is actually a Pro not that you'd know anymore as it is from 2017! In fact it was only recently when I found the box that I realised/remembered it was a Pro and not an Air. I picked up my Mother-in-law's basic iPad recently and it was way better performance wise.

I don't imagine I'll wait as long until the next time to upgrade but current is work iPad and no way was getting an upgrade. Its only now it is getting so bad and I have birthday money to spend that I am treating myself!

John Lewis are showing the new iPads as "coming soon", but aren't listing them on their lineup yet, neither have they knocked down the prices for the 2022 models.

Weird how they charge interest on 6 months but not 12 months
Yeah it's strange. Another interesting (pun not intended) thing is that a lot of outlets only do interest free loans on devices more than £1,000, which might be another incentive to buy the Pro over the Air.

Still dunno to get 11 inch or 13 inch ugh

I should really go for 11 inch given I have a 16 inch MacBook Pro for other tasks but got to admit I do enjoy the bigger size and if it’s lighter that helps portability

I'm basically set on 13-inch but I have to admit I'm gonna miss the one-handed ease of my 10-inch Air.

I've ordered both but still think the 11" is the way to go.

Yeh I've gone for the larger one this time having had a smaller 2019 Pro.
I've used the larger one on a few occasions and it's just super enjoyable, plus the new ones being lighter is never a bad thing.
Now for the hourly refreshes of the Apple Store app for preparing to ship... 🙈

I just took a quick trip to the Apple Store. I knew that they wouldn't have the new iPads on display, but I thought it was worth looking at the old ones just to get a feel of what the new ones (particlarly the 13-inch Air) would feel like.

Honestly, if anything I'm liking the idea of getting the Air more and more. OLED would be my main reason to get a Pro, but the displays on the M1 Air already seem fantastic, and couldn't for the life of me tell the difference between them and the miniLED screens on the 13-inch M2 Pro. I'm fine with Touch ID, and the blue of the Air is a lot better looking in person than it appears on a screen.

I've decided that I want to actually take a look at the OLED of the M4 Pro before I make a decision.

I ordered last night and apple just took the money from my card. I thought they would take it at the time of order? In any case, it's a relief it's now 100% confirmed as I was worried they hadn't taken it. never ordered via apple website before.

They tried taking payment this morning but my bank blocked it and then locked my account 🤦‍♂️ All sorted now and probably good that there’s some fraud protection!

Been debating upgrading my 12.9 2017 iPad Pro and think I will go for the 11 inch iPad Pro M4 now

Been waiting for OLED and the 11 inch is the size I'm going for as I've got a MBA so no real motivation to go for the 13 inch

Waiting for EE to sell them as I'd like to get cellular contract as will use it to take to work with me

I don't often pay by card but iirc most people say that there's a hold on their CC for the value when they pre-order then the balance is actually taken just before they ship.

That's my plan as currently have cellular (work paid and provided) but didn't want to shell the extra £200 and have another monthly cost for something that currently I don't use that much.
I’ve had cellular in the past when contract was my only option, but it’s rarely used and hotspot is such an underrated feature.

I did this last week and am comfortable on 11" size and was set on the Air also but have ended up ordering the Air and Pro and will decide next week.

I got a 12.9” M2 a couple of years ago but kept using the old 11” iPad Pro for everything except video editing work. The bigger screen is great, but it’s much harder to use for most daily tasks. I can type on the 11” just like I do on a phone, but not on the 12.9”, nor can I reach the bottom and top of the screen just by sliding my hand over the edge. I’m probably going to buy the 11” M4 and keep using the 12.9” exclusively for video editing.

For that reason, I’m going with the 11” iPad Pro 1TB and Cellular.
