So what is everyone planning this year?

Do you know if you going to upgrade your Apple Watch and iPhone or are you waiting to see what the finalised upgrades will be?

I currently have the iPhone XS Max 256GB and Apple Watch S4. My plan is to upgrade both (providing they do release a new watch). I'm wondering if we will get an S5 or if the S4 will just be getting more material options on the case.
Me getting a iPhone 11 Pro Space grey base model sim free also looking at a new macbook air.

Just got a new air from work and oooh it’s nice.

Thinking of trading up my 12” MacBook to one for home now.

Don’t need the power of a pro and the size/weight makes it great to take around.

Anyway back to the phones...

What’s the likelihood of prices going up this year? The Pound is a bit (~10%) weaker than this time last year, but it’s been roughly at this level in 2016.

Will probably upgrade since I’m on the IUP. Might go back to the standard size from my Max, it’s just a bit unwieldy at times.

Think my plan will still be to sell my iPhone X and buy an iPhone XS either pre owned or brand new if prices are dropped anywhere

Won’t be upgrading my Watch S4 though

Think next years iPhone upgrade will be much bigger and better

Does anyone know if I'll be able to get a device on launch day if I want to sign up as a new IUP customer?

Most likely won't be upgrading this year (but who knows). Either way I will be keeping an eye on this thread as I like to see the excitement.

Great job from the OP for compiling all this info.

The OP is wrong about the IUP. Last year you could pre-order online for in-store collection as part of the IUP. No needing to buy/refund or anything silly.

Just checked the value of my 256 XS Max on music magpie and it’s actually gone up from a couple of days ago. Only £6.20 more than it was, but might be worth checking your phone if you have an offer saved. Every little helps right? :)

Every year I say to myself “ I don’t need a new iPhone, the one I have works perfect and will continue to work for years.” Then I watch the keynote, and i’m ordering one the moment orders go live. Will probably be the same this year. ‍♂️

It seems my upgrade anytime fee on EE is free from 20/09 but my question is if i pre order on the the 13th guessing I will still need to pay that £100 upfront cost...otherwise will need to wait til 20th to order

Might be worth sending them a quick message on Twitter, maybe they can confirm/waiver it

I managed to lock in £627 with Music Magpie on the 4th September for my iPhone XS 64GB - although worried about using them having read some of the reviews.

I usually use Envirofone and have never had an issue, but doesn’t look like they’ll be doing their ‘extra10’ this year.

Does anyone know how much Music Magpies smart pack and send is insured for through Royal Mail?

Never had an issue with Music Magpie. Will be sending mine off to them tomorrow. It's insured up to the full value of your quote...

When I last tried to send a package there the post office said their address didn’t even exist ...

Either way you always need to send it special delivery anyway

Every year I upgrade, I sell my 'old' phone, which is always in great working order with no cosmetic issues. Until last year, I've always used Envirofone.

Last year, Music Magpie were offering £50 more and I took the plunge with my iPhone X. HUGE mistake. They claimed it was 'scratched up' and reduced the amount by over £200. I asked them to send it back and thankfully, Envirofone honoured their original price for me even though Music Magpie took over a week to return my phone (which wasn't 'scratched up' at all).

Unsurprisingly, I'll be using Envirofone again this year and can't say strongly enough how much I'd avoid the jokers at Music Magpie.

That's not great. I however sold my iPhone 8 plus to MM last year and they paid up the full quoted price the day they received it. Not sure why they seem fine with some people and not others.

Sometimes I think that Apple think people have bottomless pits of money. Eventually there has to be a point where people stop paying their prices?

Totally agree with this.

Furthermore, I very much doubt that there will be any problem at all with stock levels this year even if the price remains the same, bearing in mind the seriously underwhelming “innovation” and enhancements (assuming that the current rumours are true).
