EE are in partnership with Apple so I would expect they have more info on what stock they expect to get. Do you actually think that 4 days before release date they have no idea when they will get stock? Unlikely

been pre ordering iPhones via carriers for a while and every year mine used to be delayed (same with a LOT of people - you’ll find many posts on here, on reddit and on carrier forums). Yeah, some handsets are delivered on release date but a lot of then get pushed to unknown dates and it’s just a mess when you call customer services to ask for a date - they just keep lying and giving you different information.

If you want a guaranteed date/estimate buy from Apple.

Have my Music Magpie offer since the 11th. So should have until the 25th to get it to them - feels a bit tight to post off on Monday and Friday might be tight to do (weekend not possible, dropping son off at university).
yeah, I didn't want to risk it so sent it off earlier. they say allow 7 days so doesn't leave you much time. I sent mine on Wednesday afternoon, tracking showing it made it there on Friday afternoon, I got the email from MM on Saturday saying its been received and will be processed. live chat said it should be processed today.

Hi guys! New to this thread. Congrats on everyone who’s got their pre-orders in! Role on Friday :)

Quick question, if I back up my current iOS 12 XS to my Mac (not iCloud) will I be able to restore directly to my new iOS 13 - 11 Pro?

Don’t need to update to iOS 13 first, then backup (as it’s being released a day)
before)?

Thanks!

No it won't be a problem, you can restore from historical OS version, just not the other way round.

Yes plenty of reports saying people have had issues but also plenty who are happy. Will hopefully find out today as my phone got to them on Saturday and should be assessed today

Interested to hear how it turns out as if good I may do the same!
Keep us informed!

Personally I’d be very surprised if there are crowds anywhere this Friday. Or lack of stock for that matter.

Although I will be upgrading, like I have done every year since the first iPhone in 2007, this year has been the closest that I have come to not bothering. It’s hardly a compelling upgrade.

Really? You upgraded last year but was close to not this year?

Correct me if I am wrong but I didnt think there was any way of aplying for finance over the interweb? My understanding of how it works is:

1) you apply
2) they carry out a soft search which indicated likelihood of being accepted along with a limit
3) you go in store to collect and they finalise the application based on a hard search (may be a yes or a no)

I think you should be ok but I got pre-approved not long ago then declined. Typical creation!

Anyway I may be wrong, but hoping you haven't been hasty in cancelling your Apple order.

Ignore me, I misread what you were talking about. Sorry.

EE is the worst with updating your order status. Had this problem last year with my XS Max, no indication of when it was arriving until DPD text me and said it was arriving that same day. Been told twice now my order will be here on Friday, so I'm hoping that is actually the case.

So anyone else going to hold out on iOS 13 until their new phone arrive?

I’ve stopped installing betas a while back so not looked at 13 at all. Another little treat come Friday

Kinda... although with iOS13 coming out post 6pm on Thursday there won't be much time to play with it. I'm 95% sure I'm going to update straight away. I'm running to a strict time plan LOL I'll update the current phone and the watch, unpair my watch and do an encrypted iTunes back-up. I shall then do my damnedest to restrict my iOS activities to my iPad on iOS12 for the rest of the night. Friday I have an 8/8:30 am pickup, so I'll need to restore my backup and re-pair my watch before leaving to go on holiday at about 12... I've managed to get my phone restore process down from 2 hours, to 37 minutes :D but once done, I'll have a good couple of hours to play with iOS 13 and the new device, in the car for the journey ;)
...just hoping indexing doesn't kill my battery while I travel!

No thy at I’m aware of, I done this all via the website which redirected of course to the credit application where I gave everything I needed to and it got approved and broken down to monthly payments etc, I got all the documentation through via pdf just like Barclays and it was done. This isn’t provisional to my understanding it all seems fine and legitimate. As with Apple I’m sure I wasn’t hasty the order is cancelled and that’s all fine. If anything does go wrong with curry’s I will simply try my luck in Apple stores nearer the time

Boom! £704 paid from Music Magpie for my XS!

I don't know about you lot, but DPD are apparently delivering my Vodafone order in an hour :D:D:cool: Be interesting to see what, if anything turns up, because I'm pretty sure it won't be a phone!
don't put it past the incompetence of carriers...

Apparently someone on the EE forums is having theirs delivered too

Blank SIM card pro ably

"Mystery solved, there was a free wireless charger bundled with my upgrade and it's coming today !"

Thats from the EE forums. I didn't know anything about a free wireless charger so I am still living in hope haha

Even just the SIM I ordered from EE last week it was just a faff start to finish, said it would arrive Thursday, turned up the following Monday, estimated delivery was Friday so there seems no correlation between customer service, their email service, and what actually happens.
RIP EE pre-orders

I have never had any problems with EE pre-orders. Who did you order through?
