Indeed. More expensive cases aren’t always better.

One added bonus of buying a cheap clear case is that they are cheaper to replace every 12 month because discolouration and wear and tear which even affects expensive ones.
So true, I’ve had terrible wear problems from the wafer thin “leather” on the official Apple case, and I have also seen the silicone coating of the official Apple cases come away simply from repeated removal from, and placement into, a trouser / jeans pocket. This is even though I am very careful with my possessions.

If you’re trading in at Carphone Warehouse, make sure you go to Mazuma Mobile and take a screenshot of the price they’re offering. CPW will price match + add an extra £10 if Mazuma is offering a higher price. It also applies to major carriers (so if Vodafone was offering a higher trade in price, CPW will price match + £10).

CPW was offering £520 for my XS 64GB but Mazuma is offering £555, so CPW will give me £565!

Can you trade in at a carphone warehouse store or did you do it all online ?

In fact in one respect it’s certainly better because it is enclosed at the bottom whereas the Apple version is open.
To give you an alternative perspective, I have to have a case with the bottom edge open as otherwise the phone won’t work with the dock built into my car. Context matters!

Many many pages back in this thread (a week or so ago when the topic on everyone’s lips was how to get the best deal for their old phone) someone asked about stacking the ‘saved quote’ feature on Music magpie with the 14 day window once you’ve completed your trade in order with them. I don’t think anyone was sure at the time(?) but not having a suitable phone to tide me over if i sent my current phone off before the new one arrives, i thought I’d give it a go.

Last Monday (9th) i saved a quote of £690 for my phone but didn’t complete it until last night (in hindsight i should have waited until today rather than have the time run out on a Sunday). I was surprised that no where on the confirmation was there something that stated the deadline to get it to them, to see if they were working from the save date (9th) or complete date (15th), then again i guess that would put more knowledge than they have to in the customers hands to allow them to play the system. So i emailed their customer service team and they have confirmed i have up to the 29th to get the phone to them (rather than the 23rd if it had been from the save date). So i’ll get my current phone in the post to them on Friday once my new one is up and running :) and still have a week for it to get to them.

Maybe a bit late for some, or by the looks of it those who saved quotes only to have them disappear, but hopefully it could help someone to know this, or be useful for next year. I’m not sure how codes might work with this if they expire between saving and completing, but in theory this approach could give you 28 days from locking in the price to getting the phone to them so avoid the need to go without a decent handset for a while.

They’re also now confirming delivery on 20th sep for all colours

“Want it delivered the day it comes out?
Choose FREE Standard Delivery at checkout”
[doublepost=1568659872][/doublepost]
There will be thousands of units in amazon warehouses by Thursday latest, and dispatched late Thursday night or early Friday morning for Friday delivery

It then arrives like any other amazon order

My order is showing delivery on the 23rd Black iPhone 11 64Gb

I’m trying music magpie this year. Last time I used the Apple recommended one and waited 3 months to get paid.

Music magpie offered me £605 for a XS 256GB unlocked. I’ve printed the QR code so I’ll send it a week today.

I ordered on friday direct from apple
64gig Max Pro Silver
Confirmation email at 1.17pm

Status currently is preparing for dispatch
Due 20th Friday

Surprised it wasn’t longer, used to waiting a month after release but I do usually go for higher gig which seems to be the more popular choices

My Amazon order is only arriving on the 21/09 according to tracking. No idea why its not release day.. I also noticed they bumped up the price of the 256gb by £100 since i ordered.

I made my order on the 13th and my order has, and still is, ”Arriving on the 21st Sep”. No big deal really. Sometimes choosing the Prime option makes new stuff arrive later compared to other options, have had this issue before which to me is kind of weird that they can’t sort out.

If I ask customer service to sort it out, they’ll probably make it arrive even later :)

I just got a really weird text from o2 saying “sorry but your delivery date is no longer tomorrow. We’ll let you know the correct date soon.”

What does that even mean? o_O
Completely agree with the general consensus here that carriers should be more prepared after this many years, but always is a mess!

Just pre ordered a 64GB 11 in Purple for my wife on the Apple Store! 24th-26th delivery. Hope she likes the colour! (Doesn’t know I’ve ordered!)

I’m still running an X that I got on launch day. Upgrade next year I think!
Might go for a new watch though.

Cheers!

Carriers can be hit and miss when it comes to delivering on launch day.

I just changed the delivery address on amazon for my 11 pro as i wouldn't be home and it changed from sat 21st to fri 20th!

Just changed my shipment option from “Next day” to “Standard” and now it says “Delivers Friday 20th”

I should probably just leave it alone now! Fingers crossed

Thanks! Just ordered the Pro Max in Midnight Green for 20th September delivery. Also have the White coming from Apple on the same day. One of them will go back.

Now that’s a comparison I’m waiting to see pics and videos of, this Friday. Green vs white

In the term and conditions I think it says you have 14 days from when you initiate the contract, that date is the day you actually complete your basket rather than save it.

My Apple addiction has never been this bad before. My indecision on Pro Max vs Pro regular and colour choice has never been this bad before.

I really want the Green, mostly for bad reasons. But I feel like it's a risk. And when I ordered the White, that's all there was. Now I'll have the choice. But will I be able to make it.

And I'll still be wondering whether it's just too big.

Also — anyone know who Amazon might use to deliver it? Not their usual people, I hope? I could get it at any time without warning. Apple will use either UPS or DPD and they give you timed slots and come at reasonable times of day.
