I wonder when John Lewis will start showing they have stock. They list all the phones but say out of stock just yet.
I expect tomorrow morning. Thinking of ordering one for click and collect at my local Waitrose. That way don’t have to worry about being in etc and John Lewis also have a no quibble return policy plus 2yrs cover (would still get Apple Care though)
A few years ago you could order the day before and get on launch day, then it changed to ordering after 8pm day before (technically the launch day) and get day after. Now it would seem (certainly last year) you cant order until 8.00 am on launch day.

I’ve spoken to 2 people at curry’s today, the first was clueless and just said hopefully tomorrow. The second said they haven’t received their stock yet from apple so no dispatches will be made today. The optimistic view was that I should have it this weekend then if not it will be Monday.

Has anyone else been dealing with Curry’s have any other info?

I honestly don’t know why people reward they type of “service” that Curry/PCW offer their hard earned cash.

They’ve never been associated with being reliable, professional, courteous or great to deal with in general.

For those wondering about different services couriers offer, and why they’re sometimes available and sometimes not, it‘s usually due to cost.

In-flight options such as rearranging delivery and choosing slots will only be offered to the customer (you) if it’s part of the client‘s contract. For something like an iPhone launch (which genuinely does put strain on a lot of couriers) there may be a separate contract between Apple and the couriers.

I work for one of the major couriers and this is certainly how its done where I work and I’m told it’s the same way at the other couriers too.

I’ve just checked their twitter customer service page and someone else has asked about this. Still looks like it’s on track for delivery tomorrow.

I wonder if they are dispatching by type/colour, as this person looks to have ordered slightly before me

Anyone who placed a telephone order with EE - have you received any SMS updates yet about delivery? Mine is going to a store. They said I should get an SMS update sometime today with tracking details.

Very’s systems will also be slightly delayed. I’m waiting for my Apple Watch too. Due for delivery tomorrow but still at the ’Supplier Processing Order’ stage. The supplier may well have arranged a courier and a tracking number by now but I believe their systems don’t synchronise in real time. Updates from the supplier and their couriers will be sent over to Very in electronic batches.

That’s why I’m not concerned about the lack of a dispatch notice... yet... honestly I’m not. 😖

Well my head hurts now. I initially bought the Pro Max from Apple, then after a change of mind went with the Pro from Currys on interest free. I cancelled the Apple order (max) and thought I was sorted.

Today I discover both are being delivered tomorrow anyway, so after some more thought I have finally decided to keep the Max and send the Pro back to Currys. It's an extra £100 for the Max and I've managed the XS Max for 12 months with no issues. I've also just been offered a great balance transfer deal on one of my cards so can effectively have the Max on installments too anyway.

I cancelled the Max with Apple over the phone the other day and was told it was no problem, that it wouldn't arrive and had an email telling me that they were going to cancel it. It was only then I went with the Currys option. Annoyingly Apple didn't appear to give buyers (well me anyway) the option to cancel orders like it normally does using the app or online.

It does mean I have a spare Spigen Pro case as I ended up with a Max and a Pro, oh and screen protectors for both.

I have been reliably informed that I need to accept the Pro and not refuse it, then have it collected for return. Apparently refusing means it does get back to the originator but slower than it would if I have it collected.

I'd also be worried it got lost (and you might not be bale to track its progress back to Apple) and you didn't get a refund until the Apple received it back!

Surely any courier would limit the amount of upgrades in one area due to the physical limits of the driver. If you are getting refused then it means there are enough early deliveries that yours cannot be accommodated rather than Apple setting courier restraints.

Has anyone else got two tracking numbers for one phone? (Currys)

Could there be a case or sim card or guarantee coming separately?

I did via online chat so effectively the same and got an email at lunchtime.

What a nightmare I'm having.
My SKY order can't be cancelled so is being delivered tomorrow so will need to just straight return that.
I ended up ordering from THREE but now I've realised my Watch won't pair cellular with it (don't even ask me how that didn't enter my head...) - so I've rung and cancelled that.

Then I seen that Currys have them in stock for interest free so I ordered from there the model I wanted - but realised I selected standard delivery.
I've therefore had to order again thinking I could just cancel the other one online but it won't let me so on the phone to them now asking to cancel the first order!

What a nightmare!

Yes, I’m replying to myself!

Proving my point, I received the dispatch notification while I was writing my last message. The tracker now shows Dispatched at 00:01am this morning and the carrier collected the consignment at 2:49pm.

A nightmare you created yourself, you had ages from the keynote to pre-order to figure out what to do... make a decision and stick with it! :)

I'm not sure they're effectively the same. Did you get an email confirmation after placing your order?

My original order was all online and I received a confirmation email. I cancelled and reorder over phone, and haven't had any emails in relation to the new order, but I did get an SMS with an order tracker when I placed that order. The tracker has never worked, and I called them yesterday to verify, and it has all gone through but they said phone orders don't usually get email confirmations and I shouldn't worry about that, and that the next communication would be an SMS with tracking link the day or night before delivery.

Still nothing from Sky Mobile. Apparently they're pushing everything out in batches and update emails are going out to customers up until 10pm.

I wasn't bothered with getting the phone bang on launch day but, well, now I'm behaving like a kid and I'm salivating in anticipation but equally prepared for disappointment.

A q if I may...

Why do DPD seem to be so far ahead in terms of reliability, features offered (1 hour time slot) etc?

FURTHER to my post about my EE telephone order, I was told that delivery to a store and not a home address is also different protocol, and hence the tracker doesn't work.

My tracking number has only just been recognised in Royal Mail’s system. I’ve been refreshing hourly all day. 🤣 Apparently it’s at Swindon Mail Centre now, so perhaps you’ll see movement on your order very soon.
