So, I ended up going for the standard size 11 pro 64gb in space grey.

I'm going to miss the big screen of the XS Max but I just think that this size of phone is perfect for my needs, and I save myself £26 a month in the process.

Went for my usual midnight blue leather case, which I think looks lovely.

Hi everyone,

So, my girlfriend took the plunge and bought herself an Apple silicone case in black for her black iPhone 11...

She loves the premium look and it really sets off the beauty of the phone. However, she is a little concerned about the level of protection these cases generally provide. Does anyone here have any experience with these cases and how wear and tear of the phone is affected? The phone is usually kept in a handbag during the day so just wondering about scratching etc. Especially as the bottom portion of the phone (speaker holes) is exposed.

thanks!
They do about what you'd expect - protect the edges pretty well apart from the bottom, where I still got a few scratches. The fit and finish of them is very good though. However, the corners of the silicon did start to turn shiny after a few months - I used a red one on my X.

Whoop mines arrived from Currys via DPD. Excited to open it!
Well.. after opening it I really regretted changing to Space Grey. Luckily Curry's got some stock of Silver last night which I just went an exchanged for in-store!

Was pleased it was a fairly easy process, although I do have to wait for the phone to reach their warehouse before I get refunded.. I was just worried as I'd removed the plastic over the screen and thought this may have impacted my DSR rights.

So I’ve currently got the X and it’s down to 83% battery capacity. Is the pro max worth the upgrade?
I’ve gone X to 11 Pro Max and I tell you, the battery is incredible. Yes it will deteriorate over time but my X was never this good even when new and after a new battery.
6hrs screen on today and at 60%

I used them on all my iPhones and they protected them well enough, but they degrade pretty quickly. I'm currently using this on my black 11 which has a bit more protection (and it's much cheaper):

Well, I emailed to Amazon tell them that my credit card company had not had any payment requested, and they get a generic email stating

This is complete nonsense. Gone back to them again
Not sure if this is related to our delays but when I went to check Amazon, there are no options to buy the 256GB models in any colour, it’s not even greyed out... just not there.
I ordered the 256Gb space grey model (max)

Oh my god what a day....

took our iPhones to CPW to trade in....

All going fine until the till crashed halfway through ....

transaction lost but even worse it’s processed the phones!!!! Which means they’re now unsellable by us because they show up as traded in.. the poor lad in Watford was trying his best but couldn’t sort it. Now it’s been escalated to a special team at head office and should have it sorted in next few days..

basically I have two unsellable phones and no money to show for it currently..

it may have been two phones in one transaction or just bad luck but be careful!!

Thanks for this! She’s actually just ordered one now.

Too early to find USB C to Lightning cables... need at least 6ft one. Amazon do not have this yet 😭

Couple of options:

My 11 Pro Max (white/silver) bought yesterday from John Lewis is now fully setup. It just copied everything off my old XS wirelessly (but finance apps mostly needed setting up from scratch again)

The Apple clear case is a bit slippery , but not like a bar of soap lol. I actually quite like it as I found the silicon one on my XS would constantly stick to my suit jacket pocket (first world problem).

Its a fair bit heavier than my XS - but oh my .. the screen is beautiful and big, so I think worth the weight increase. Time will tell.

Added Apple care+ to it via general->about (option was just there) - tells you how long you have left to buy it for this phone.

I was going to wait and choose in store but I’m glad I took a punt on this colour. A nice change from my previous XS gold.

Will be taking the XS to CPW to trade in tomorrow , then cancelling the XS Apple care.

so - not a bad upgrade year at all. Have enjoyed reading this thread.
