I'm on IUP with Xr, not impressed with updates won't go Pro, would be an 11, although happy to stay Xr.

However working out the upgrade, it's actually (very slightly) cheaper monthly payments (although would have the £69 upfront), so now wondering.

I personally don't see much benefit in Xr over 11, but wonder what others in same scenario are doing?

Why in the name of all that is holy have EE, o2, and the rest not released their pricing? Going to end up on a 0% card again at this rate...

I'm in the same boat with my XS - no real benefit in upgrading to even the 11 Pro iPhone (I hardly use my camera as it is!) other than slightly cheaper monthly payments on IUP (if I don't opt for AppleCare).

Not sure its even worth my time and effort to pre-order tomorrow and pick up next week for just a slight decrease in monthly payments - especially given the fact that if I wait til this time next year, I get to keep my current XS (as opposed to giving it back to Apple to pay off the remainder IUP loan if I were to upgrade this year) and can hand it down to the other half!

They never release pricing til pre-orders go live + don't want to be first to come out with prices - they're all waiting to see what each other's gonna do first.....!

Clear case just arrived......

You cant upgrade your iPhone every 12 months if you go for iPhone payments only. This feature is only available with the package that includes AppleCare.

Which based on historic pricing/resale value is a waste of time anyway as can sell privately (or to buy back site) for more than remaining 9 months iUP payments and just start again anyway.

Most people I know on iUP do that anyway as better off than upgrading via iUP.

Take this year as an example...... someone with an XS Max 256GB would one around £620 at this point (9 remaining payments) which is less than the private sale value - not to mention that you can get approx £100 AppleCare refund.

I personally think iUP is a good idea from a cash flow/finance perspective (if want/need Applecare) but I think crazy to do on basis of the upgrade option.

No, I agree with you but I was just saying it for people incase they thought iUP and Payments were the same thing (allowing you to upgrade each year by handing your phone back) when they are not.

Never thought if it looked this. I'm on Xr IUP and maybe goto 11.

How much AC+ refund would I get if paying up the remaining 9 months? Looks like Xr values are about what I owe though as well

Applecare I think is a 2 year product and would get a pro rata refund. XR AppleCare was I think £149 so should get back approx £75 if pay off balance.

Are these any different, I'm talking last year's Xr as well, to the £5 etc ones off Amazon?

Just wondering if these are worth the £45, or just buy loads of cheaper ones when wear out?
Hard to tell without using, but does seem a little more sturdy than cheap ones (e.g. spigen) I have had in past. Also there is a little bit of flexibility, and the surface seems to have a good amount of grip. Also the Power/volume buttons have rubber buttons embedded in the case (like the Leather/silicone cases).

Time will tell if dust still creeps in - but I would hope that Apple have engineered to be the absolute best fit to avoid this.

Yes. Point being that practically there is no advantage of iUP over payments. If want to finance interest free over 20 months and want AppleCare do iUP...... if not, do payments.

Hi guys! Currently got iPhone XS Max 256gb on iUP but tempted to get an iPhone 11 in the iPhone payments. What’s people’s opinion on selling the phone privately, getting the apple care refund Over just giving them the phone back? Which am I better off doing?

Never thought about doing this so let me get this right in my head - sorry. I got the XS Max at launch last year so there are 9 payments remaining. I could sell it to Music Magpie, pay off the remainder at an Apple store who will also pro-rata refund Apple Care?

Not quite - I don't know (others may be able to confirm) but suspect you will need to call Barclays and pay off iUP directly. The AppleCare refund is I think also something you will need to call Apple directly to do (but is straight forward).
So overall - is a little bit more hassle, but likely better financially!

Is the case rigid or ‘jelly-like’, please? A friend is thinking of buying this option (personally I always go with an Apple Leather case).
It is rigid (crystal clear) but as I say does have a little flexibility and the plastic certainly feels 'thicker/tougher' than other cheaper cases I have used. It doesn't feel like it would snap easily!

I'm sure you can (happy to be shown otherwise)....

I've been upgrading every year since the iPhone 7 was released. iPhone 7 to iPhone 8 Plus upgraded through paying monthly payments via PayPal in the Apple Store and then again last year, when upgrading from 8 Plus to my current XS via IUP.

Does the IUP NOT allow upgrades then if you choose to NOT tale out AppleCare? Is that what you mean?

EDIT - seems that you CAN'T be on the iUP without AppleCare:

Always a game of chicken with the networks. Honestly wouldn't expect anything before lunchtime Friday

They never release pricing til pre-orders go live + don't want to be first to come out with prices - they're all waiting to see what each other's gonna do first.....!

What do you lot reckon, before the 1pm madness or after? Going to be a mad hour if it's after!

Just called Barclays forgot to ask them about paying it off early - £553.05 remaining, basically 9 months left. Makes sense to sell to CWP etc and pocket a couple of quid in the process!

Midnight Green looks amazing but I’m very wary of trendy colours because they age more quickly than the classics.

Having said that, most of us are on pretty short upgrade cycles so my point is almost irrelevant :D

Though often you get a better price on these when selling used (private sales not to trade in companies)

Does anyone know if when preordering from Apple directly if I choose to use the partnership finance solution will this lengthy process hinder my 20th receiving date?
[doublepost=1568241674][/doublepost]
256

Argh debating to finance it that way or to do the Apple trade in and use my paypal credit to fund the remaining £829.... (already have paypal credit and have that amount + in the account to use)

If I were you I would reserve and do iPhone payment in store as that is interest free and the regular Barclay Partner fiance on the web is not (14.9%). Or do you need it delivered?

Also I am finding from a couple of things I bought on PayPal Credit that they allocate payments in a strange way.
