we’ll lose all respect for you if you don’t.. and you don’t want random people from t’internet not respecting you....

MacRumors members respect is the highest form of respect... But I still may just get the standard 11. :p

I haven’t used pick up in store in a while; can anyone confirm how long they hold your product for, please?

Nothing written down but assume a few hours. They won’t go past that day as the stock is then added to the allocation that’s then up for reservation the next morning

Thanks for the reply. Just for clarity, I’m talking where I have pre-ordered and paid online; they will still not hold it for a couple of days?

Guys, am I going mad here?

256 Pro Max on iUP is £71.45 per month (I think, doing maths as store page is down)

64 Pro Max is £63.95 per month.

So difference is £7.50

But as you’re only paying for 11 months and the up front is the same...

That’s 7.50x11= £82.50 all things being equal.

So the storage upgrade doesn’t feel like the £150 it really is? Albeit you don’t get to use it for more than those 12 months, if that makes sense....

Just trying to mental gymnastics to soften the blow here...!

I think if you choose pick up then it doesn’t charge you until you pick up. Because some chose to do the upgrade plan etc when there. Not 100% sure though.

I know if you reserve and don’t show that day it goes back into stock overnight

I work from home so it doesn't really matter for me, I just don't like waiting all morning haha.

I’m in Norfolk on holiday and supposed to be heading home today, however we’ve extended our holiday to Sunday but have to move to a hotel today so I’m homeless until 3pm!

will have to find a lay-by and get the iPad and iPhone fired up and ready to roll

Not at work today, and was going to order from Curry's. Think I'm just going to be free at 1PM and order direct from Apple though.

Hoping they have enough stock of the Midnight Green 11 Pro because it sounds bloody popular!

If you actually *pay* in advance, that will be held for a good few days. Just dug out emails regarding an order I placed for pickup at an Apple Store last year (not an iPhone, but doesn’t matter I don’t think) and I didn’t pick it up right away. I have an automated email reminding me to do so dated seven days after my order, and the date I have until listed in it is a full fourteen days after that. So I think you’ll be fine!

Reservations for in-store payment in full or to join the various Apple iUP variants are different and yes, you have to get them on the date and time specified (I believe launch day is the only option initially). But if you buy it like you normally would anything on the store, then you’re good to do what you’re proposing.

Glad someone in the know has clarified :)

Just would have all been done by now

Yup your paying pro rata and if you’re changing after 11 months it’s 11/20 of the difference

So long as you're reserving outside of the Upgrade Programme or Payments Plan, you'll be fine.

The difference being that an outright reservation will take payment from you in full.

But you can’t start iUP in the app you have to go in store. Does that mean I have to pay in full for reservation then they’ll refund when I go I store to change to iUP?
