I will give them a bell tomorrow as they're shut now :(
My credit card is showing as pending for two phones so probably will need to return it!

Does anyone know if refusing delivery works?
I wouldn’t risk it, I’d just wait and return it.

I mean Barclays finance or PayPal finance you pay ~15% APR. If you’re just keeping you’re phone a year, would wouldn’t you do IUP and pay 0%?
Because I don’t want to have a monthly outgoing for this. Also I believe when I done this last time I didn’t actually pay the APR with Barclays’s because I paid it all off less than a month

Anyone with any similar experiences? :)

Did you want apple care? If not, you’re having to pay for it with IUP.

You don’t really get much benefit from IUP apart from the 0% in my mind.

The whole upgrade after 11 months is bull. This will be the second year I’ll be £200 or so better off by not doing what IUP want and by selling privately.

Saying that, you’ve paid for your phone outright, you can do just that, sell your phone privately next year and buy again.

The reason I chose IUP is because I feel loathed to give Apple £1200 for a phone.

Haha ok now I’m confused! But all good if it works for you!

Thank you!

If it works. Not sure what’s happening for me this year with the payment not being made ahhhh I doubt I have a 20th delivery date anymore... :(

I’ve had the same issues as you today, Barclays approved, Apple order status said awaiting credit application and now on hold awaiting payment.

Spoke to live chat and on their end it says waiting for loan approval and that my order is showing as 20th September delivery, this delay won’t effect that.

The website has had issues with the order page all day, guessing it will be resolved over night

To me, after some bad experiences with online sales, what I get from the IUP is a known amount that I will "get" (I put that in quotes because what they're really doing is forgiving the old loan) when I hand the old phone to a Genius at the Apple store. Could I get more if I worked at it? Yes - but BTDT. I'm paying something for simplicity, speed and certainty, and I'm ok with that.

The thing I don't like about the IUP is being required to pay for AC+, which I would probably never buy for a phone I owned rather than financed...although with the cost of replacement for cracked rear glass panels on the iPhones with inductive charging, it's not as crazy as I thought it was when the back panels were aluminum (or when you could self-service the glass back on a 4).

I’ve never had apple care until the X and glass design.

The actual hassle of not handing the phone back to apple is not that big. Definitely for the £200 you’ll be better off! That’s close to a fifth of a new phone

I pray that it is and there’s nothing wrong with the loan side of things. (I’ve always been approved Barclays)

Debating this myself, sorry if its obvious but what do you mean about this being the 2nd year you’ll be £200 better off by not doing what IUP wants?

EE will charge you £1.50 for sending you a QR code. You should pop into a store with Photo ID instead.

What's not clear yet is if they will give you the eSIM pack in advance, and not register it or if you have to do it on the day, or your existing sim will get disconnected. I'm going to pop in tomorrow and see what they say.

When I ordered mine they said i can register when my new phone arrives , the existing sim will work until the new one is activated using the iphone 11.

I have a gold reserved. Never had that colour before, have you?

I’ve always had space grey, excluding my 3GS as that was black technically.

I’ve switched this time as want the lemon case, and feel the gold will work well. I also just didn’t take to the matte space grey finish. Not a fan of matte at all really. And a change is nice too I guess.

I actually (first world problems) imagine being a bit messed up by having the Galaxy Fold on EE only. And I am certainly NOT paying £2000 for it right up.

Basically I have two phones my iPhone XS Max which I have on EE (its unlocked) and a Huawei P30 Pro on Three. I use my iPhone on EE for two reasons; first of all I have my S4 AW on EE paired to it and second of all I like to use Android in my car with Android Auto so that’s my main phone number.

Three phones are all unlocked so nothing stops me using EE on my three upgrade but if I get the Fold (which I really want to but subject to the monthly pricing of course which may put me off) then that WILL BE locked to EE. So I can’t put my main phone number on Three in that phone; so it would have to go in my iPhone and I don’t like CarPlay. I think the only way around this would be to forward all my three calls to my Fold but then if I called back it would be on a different number. Lol. This is probably the only thread where anyone would actually care about this stupid dilemma.

Incidentally the upgrade I did on 3 was good value I think - I think 3 has the best prices (I say without checking any other prices on any other networks :p_)

You won't be able to cancel but you can reject delivery at the door. In my experience it's usually quicker to take delivery and return at a store or a drop off point for quicker refund.

I had the iPhone X on iup. So last year when it came to getting the XS I didn’t just hand the phone back to apple and take out a new iup plan for the phone.

My outstanding loan with Barclays (can’t remember the numbers for the X exactly) was say £500 but by selling my X privately i made £650. I then payed off the balance and pocketed the difference. Also because your loan include AppleCare, and that is for 24 months you can get a refund for the remaining you have left ~£90.

Fast forward another year and instead of giving apple my XS and moving to the pro, I’ve sold my phone to music magpie for £704. My loan balance is about £575. This leaves me £130 better off again. Then add the £90 for apple care then it’s £220

Agreed. I wouldn’t reject delivery. I’d want to know that if it’s a phone I’ve (mistakenly) paid for, its in my hands and in my control to refund. Wouldn’t trust a courier to get it back to where it needs to be quickly.

This is strange; I reserved a gold 256GB 11 Pro Max to pick up in London (there next week) for £71.45 a month over 20 months and including AppleCare plus, then;
Closer to home, the same phone, this time to pick up near where I live for £53.99 a month, this time over 24 months and not including AppleCare plus?
I didn't think you could get on the upgrade programme without AC+?

ok those of you in IUP and sending your phone off to music magpie or selling, don’t do what I did and remove all trace of the phone from my iCloud account without taking note of the serial number!

I missing I will need this to cancel the apple care on it!

Luckily found the AppleCare proof of coverage email which had it on!

Looking forward to getting this one as I haven't had a space grey iPhone yet. I've upgraded every year since I had the black 3GS and it's been white, silver and and gold since then. Will be nice to have a change this time.

There’s been a few mentions ( like in the t&cs on apple.com) that’s there’s this 24m 0% offering but I’ve seen no publicising of this on any of the pages!

Maybe it’s another offering available in store they dont really talk about

I have an offer from music magpie but can't see any date to send my phone? Also, I sold my X last year to them without any problem but a friend this year, who I trust and know is extremely careful sold a phone to them. They replied that the screen was cracked. He is 100% certain that it wasn't and double wrapped it and secured it. Just wondering how sage MM are?

If you’re on iup and you cancel apple care, the outstanding balance will be refunded to Barclays. They will remove this from your balance and your existing monthly payments remain the same, it would just end earlier.
In that case, if I’m not saving anything (monthly) by cancelling AppleCare, I may as well reserve an iPhone 11 (non Pro) which would cut my monthly payments to around £30 (with no AppleCare) as opposed to my current payments of £54 on my XS.

:)
