Now I’m debating cancelling my EE purchase :D

Thought I could get a sim only deal from EE £25 a month, and then keep my apple pre order to go onto the apple upgrade programme, least that way I’m moving from a poor network like EE, upgrading my phone again next year, and can use the sale of my iPhone X towards the first 6 months of my new iphone payment hmmmm decisions

Interesting conversation with Carphone warehouse. Was enquiring about an early upgrade via EE as they have better plans than EE currently offering directly. Apparently they can’t do it as they don’t have a plan that’s the same price as mine £84 or higher. They can’t go lower?!

Then they wanted to see if they could do it on the Max version. I said ok to see what the deal was. Then told me they can’t as EE don’t have the 256GB version yet.

Feel like they just tried misleading in the end so they could get a better sale maybe?

You had an email confirmation? Still waiting for mine...

I had one email saying the order had been "successful", but about 90 minutes later I received an email saying the order had been "confirmed". Then 2 minutes later I received another email about my "new preorder".

Any green in the house preparing to ship ? What model & when did you receive the order notification ?

I ordered an iPhone 11 Pro 256GB in Gold. I received the "successful order" email at 14:39, and then the "order confirmation" at 16:07. The person I've spoken to just now has said delivery is expected on launch date, but he offered no guarantee.

I note for your reference that the last time (over a year ago) I attempted an order with EE I received the email notifying me the order was "successful" immediately, then 30 or so minutes later I received an email saying the credit check was unsuccessful.

Ordered the green 11 pro 5.8 at about 1:02pm, confirmation email at 1:15pm and been preparing shipping since about 7pm.

If you go iPhone Payments, you can’t just upgrade at Apple. Hence the iPhone Upgrade Program. You’d have to sell the phone privately, pay off the loan, and then buy a new one. Out of interest, why would you want to give up AppleCare?

Also if you’re currently on the iUP, you’ll need to settle it yourself to go to a other type of payment, I.e. you can’t just hand your XS back.

Of course you can just hand the phone back - that’s the whole point of the IUP.

I’m currently on IUP. I have reserved an iPhone for pick up next week. When I go to collect, I can hand my XS back, and, the IUP on that phone is then cleared and settled (the action of handing back the phone pays off the remaining balance). I can then choose whether to opt for IUP or iPhone Payments for the new phone.

.....or are you referring to next year when you say I can’t just hand the phone back?

Those of us picking up in store, when do our cards get charged? Sorry never done it before!

I didn’t choose iUP or anything just put in card details via Apple Pay..

no hold on my card as yet and presumably we won’t see preparing for dispatch etc?

Just a heads up - anyone currently on the EE network using an e-sim and is upgrading to the iPhone 11 will need to order an e-sim pack from them or get one from an EE store. Just ordered mine online ready for when I get the phone on the 20th.
Do you have a link for the order page? Need to do this myself

I’m wanting to know the same too. No pending charges showing on my credit card or anything.

Me too... First time picking up instore... I paid with my Monzo card, which immediately did a £1 test transaction (didn't ask me to auth it either) but that's it...

Sorry if this has been covered already, but is anyone else who ordered from Apple Store online not seeing their order in the ‘My Orders’ section since the orders page has come back online this evening?

How did you get the 10% off of you don’t mind me asking please

Very offer 10% discount for first time credit customers. The promo code is on their homepage if you’re interested. As long as you pay off the full amount in 12 months, there’s nothing to lose.

If you pay off the IUP loan to Barclays before next Friday will that cancel my IUP reservation? I’ll be taking a new IUP or IP (undecided) at the store.

Apple has pro-rata refunded Apple care to Barclays, they said it might take 10 days for it to go through. I’m going to privately trade in my XS Max and pocket the £169, thanks to all those who mentioned this earlier in the thread wouldn’t have thought about doing it like this.

Nah you’re fine.

Mines there, seems to be fine.

I was set on the green but have only managed to reserve a gold. I do like the gold and seeing I usually use a case the colour is not so much of an issue. Still not sure though. Also, can I ask; Is this possible? I've heard of people buying a new iPhone using their credit card and then when they go and pick it up they ask to go onto the Apple Upgrade Programme. Apple then refunds your credit card and enrols you onto the programme. Anyone know if this is right?

Apparently my order has shipped already

[Edit] Misread, it's preparing to ship

I paid by Monzo too. Full payment was taken within 30 mins of the order.

Preparing to ship is quicker this year than remember.

It was pretty quick last year I think too... it will now tease you and sit like this still Thursday afternoon or so

I have a brainteaser for you guys..

I've bought the iPhone Pro Max 256GB direct & SIM Free from Apple. I am with Vodafone and pay them about £20 a month.

I usually upgrade every other year, but with the rumours of the 2020 iPhone to be a major one, I will probably be tempted to upgrade.

I've been reading up on the iUP this evening too...

Which is better value for me?

What’s the best way to pay off my iUP loan and then get the AppleCare refund?

Do I need to pay off first then ask for the refund?

...quick question!

Is it actually possible to cancel AppleCare on my existing iPhone XS?

Reason I ask is that if it’s not possible, then it’s a no brainier for me to choose the standard iPhone 11 in order to cut my payments from £54 a month on my current XS (with AppleCare) to £29.99 (no AppleCare) for the iPhone 11.

Also, if I choose iPhone Payments, does this work the same as the IUP in that next September, I take in my iPhone 11 and pay off the remaining balance and upgrades to the iPhone 12?

If you’re on iup and you cancel apple care, the outstanding balance will be refunded to Barclays. They will remove this from your balance and your existing monthly payments remain the same, it would just end earlier.

Ok cool. I think I’ll pay off the loan first, wait a day for that to clear, then cancel the applecare. That way the refund will come straight back into my bank account.

Why did you choose the Barclays finance over iup or ip? If you don’t mind me asking!

I guess you wanted a payment period over 20 months?
I choose this every time basically I do it and then sell my iPhone privately making more money then pay off towards the loan and pay off the rest in full then no more loan
