LOL, along with...

My phone is bent

For some reason, this one really grinds my gears, more than any of the other “issues”.
[doublepost=1568445005][/doublepost]Could I have your collective thoughts on this case please folks?

Quick question - does it matter what condition the phone is in when you hand it back after 12 months if you’re on IUP?

I’m going to start IUP this year and am debating having no case on my phone, but won’t do this if I’ll then be penalised next year when I upgrade if there are marks on it etc.

Check out apples own FAQs at the bottom of this page: https://www.apple.com/uk/shop/iphone/iphone-upgrade-program

What do I do if my iPhone is damaged?
Your iPhone should be in good working condition at the time of upgrade. If your iPhone has screen damage, we’ll do our best to help you when you visit the store. If your iPhone has any other damage, visit getsupport.apple.com to book an appointment to get it repaired before you upgrade.

I thought you started a new IUP when you handed your phone back to them anyway ?

I didn’t want to pay off my current IUP until I got another one in place Incase I failed the credit check not that I should
[doublepost=1568416081][/doublepost]

This was in IUP clicking on my current XS to trade in.

That’s right, it’s a new IUP application each time. You can do it in the order you say

I would agree with you if this were a few years back. However, the dates didn’t slip for quite a while this year, so anyone who wanted one could have got one. If you missed it, then that’s your own fault unfortunately. I wouldn’t call him inconsiderate and selfish. For the first time ever I’ve also ordered two as I couldn’t make my mind up.
I’m my opinion your response is not logical. I believe that most if not all people who placed orders yesterday will have done so in the hope of getting a launch day iPhone. There will undoubtedly be those who cannot have them on day one as a result of selfish and indecisive people who place multiple orders for iPhones that they have no intention of keeping.

You’re entitled to your opinion as much as I am entitled to mine. Let’s agree to disagree.

And only iUP gives you the option of handing the phone back and upgrading to a new phone after 11 months.

:D

Welcome back! :p

Yup that too! I’m just loathed to see anyone do that when it’s simple enough to sell privately and make £100+ which apple would just pocket

LOL, along with...
Does my display look yellow
My bezels are not aligned
My bezel is scratched
My phone is bent

and so on

Don’t... when I got my XS I had 2 chips in the bezel.. had to go into store hoping for a replacement... luckily they had kept stock aside for this

Er....

And you were worried we’d have nothing to talk about :D

Jesus, you crack me up with your indecision Dino lol!! How on earth do you get dressed in the morning?

Always the case as buyers remorse sets in, people start to change their minds, lose their minds, descend into madness etc etc

Haha. Just being a helpful citizen!

I think 1000 of the 2000 posts are just me!

Nice and sleek looking, doesn’t look like it would do anything to protect it from a drop! Like the idea of a kickstand for when the kids use it.

But

Putting anything but an apple case is is just sacrilegious

That’s still no excuse for abusing the returns policy.

Also some people cannot order straight away due to work or family commitments so could miss launch day because of this type of behaviour.

Don’t forget you’ll need a usb-c to lightning cable if you buy the charger..

What’s a typical 2.4A 5v USB charger - 12w? We have an anker powerbank with multiple lightning cables so if that’s about 10-12w I think that’ll do

Still iPhone 11 64GB for Friday pickups in London (checked white city and regent street), but from around 12. Is it the pros with less availability then?

No, just relax. Payment usually goes out a day a day or two before it is shipped.
Sorry dude should clarify. My order is on hold due to awaiting loan payment to go through. My loan was accepted yesterday and I ordered within the first 15 mins but yeah not sure what to do next. Don’t even have a delivery date yet either

I think the more expensive payments are better in the long run as about £60 cheaper. Tried to reserve again but says I'm up tommy limit? Cancelled one but still saying the same?

IUP is 20 months with AppleCare. iPhone payments says 20 months with no AppleCare but if you go that route on the web it shows 24 months

Both interest free so total cost is the same - iup has a £69 deposit while the (new?) iPhone payments 24months is only £20 deposit

Now the the pro comes with an 18w charger, I wonder if it will just look like the iPad type charger? Given my iPad one is 10w, I’m hoping the 18w in the box has a new smaller design.

It’s the USB iPad Pro charger in the US. No idea about other markets.
It’s the same here. Been using one for the last year-ish with my 2018 Pro. It’s a really good unit and very easy to carry around with the folding pins.

This was my dilemma. I very nearly went with the midnight green, but I’ve decided to try the 11.

I loved my X and XS, but saving around £20 a month was a big factor and the internals of the 11, including the camera is still a big upgrade. Will I miss the OLED? I’ll soon find out.

I’ll probably go with the Pro next year if there is a new design and fingers crossed, no notch.

I’ll be saving around £15 a month if I drop from XS to iPhone 11.

I’ve got an XR until next week when I return it. Coming from the X and XS, the screen does feel noticeably duller to me, the oled is punchy and vibrant. But on saying that.. if I had this a few more weeks I would probably be fine with it.

The biggest thing, and one thing I though I’d actually like is the size. The larger XR size and a case it’s making it awkward to pocket and one hand use for me.

I’m so looking forward to next week to get the 5.8” back

I had an 8 Plus prior to the XS and thought that handset was great. Comparing the specs of the 8 Plus vs the 11, it seems the 11 has even a lower pixel count than the 8 Plus. The 11 is also slightly smaller (not by much though) - when I had the 8 Plus, I did find it quite difficult to pocket although I still learned how to use it with one hand.

You’re entitled to your opinion as much as I am entitled to mine. Let’s agree to disagree.

But your point doesn’t make sense. For those who wanted launch day iPhones, they would have got them. Anyone wanting to ensure they had a launch day iPhone would have known that preorders went live at 1pm. Anyone trying the Apple store at 1pm would have got their model of choice. The only reason they may have not got launch day iPhones is if they weren’t ready as soon as preorders went live (that is their own fault - all models were still pretty much available for 10+ minutes after the store went live). So if they missed it, they obviously weren’t that fussed over a launch day iPhone!

Additionally I checked at 10pm last night and there were still multiple Pro and Pro Max models available for launch day delivery / collection.

I agree that everyone is entitled to their opinion, however I don’t have to agree to disagree that those doing it are ‘selfish’ and ‘inconsiderate’!

That’s still no excuse for abusing the returns policy.

Also some people cannot order straight away due to work or family commitments so could miss launch day because of this type of behaviour.

The returns policy is there for this exact reason. It’s not like I have purchased the same models but to different addresses just to ensure one arrives on launch day. I’ve ordered different models so I can spend time with each and then return the one I don’t like.

It’s no different to people ordering ‘temporary’ iPhones whilst they wait for the new models to arrive.

Variations of both the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max were available for 10+ hours after launch. That’s plenty of time. Hell, I’ve just taken a look now and there are STILL models available for lunch day delivery 20 hours after preorders opened!

It’s bit really abusing it. How many people order two sizes of clothes online knowing they’ll return the one that doesn’t fit, or two colours because you can’t quite tell on a website how it’ll look when wearing it?

This is the same but more expensive.

I do wonder if Apple should have the new models in store for people to see after the keynote - or even just demo models so you can check size/colour etc?
