As discussed over the phone, as a gesture of goodwill we are happy to offer you a complimentary case for the phone you decide to purchase next month. When you purchase your device please use this email as reference with my colleagues at the time and we will be happy to do this for you.
Thanks again.

I have friends that work for Vodafone and they all say the same thing. My girlfriend was a contractor with one of the big networks for a couple of years implementing new systems and trying to integrate the old ones (read ‘unpick the mess of’), some consumer, but mainly on the business and reseller side, and frankly I’m astonished any of them ever get anything at all together. A lot of what she told me made it sound like it was held together by the metaphorical equivalent of string, with processes often relying on long term experienced staff who knew how to keep the systems failings at bay.
Of course these key staff would often get hit by the seemingly random job cuts aimed at boosting the share price, often taking indispensable knowledge of undocumented systems with them.
I have no doubt they’re all much the same, perhaps down to 30 years of rather chaotic growth and mergers.
There was a huge billing platform change they were trialling and testing internally, and they all said “This isn’t ready for release”.
They were ignored and the change/new platform was rolled out (prob 2 years ago now) and the inevitable chaos caused to customers followed.
Now I’m on Vodafone and it’s brill for me, but it never ceases to amaze me how badly these companies consistently get it come iPhone launches (that will no doubt have been many many months in the planning).
