Personally I think the official Apple clear case is over priced for what you get. You can get clear cases by other brands which are just as good if not in some cases better for a fraction of the price. I’ve decided to go with the 11 Pro Max version of the one I currently use with my Xs Max. Granted all clear cases eventually go yellow as has mine and so will the Apple one but for the cost of a cheaper but just as good third party case you can justify a replacement.

That one has served me well along with the full coverage glass screen protector by the same brand as I’ve dropped my current iPhone several times. It has a hard “glass” back which offers great protection.

True it’s over priced but I’m interested to see the difference if any between this and the spigen one. Spigen one I got has a kick stand so might be used more on breaks etc

I do like the cut out on the bottom though of the Apple cases

And thanks again! Just wondering if anyone else has done the same. Trying to see what the chances are.

Can’t see a problem really but you know how sometimes bureaucracy doesn’t make sense.

‘returning it instore for a full refund - fact. It’s in their terms and conditions and is well known.

keeping the returned phone out of store stock so it can be immediately resold to you under a new finance arrangement - like;y but don’t count your chickens. I’m sure they want to look after you but maybe on launch day they hadn’t anticipated your collection slot taking longer because you were just a ‘grab and go’ - there may be some time pressure on the staff. I’m sure they’ll look after you though

I only ever use clear cases, and frankly i’d rather use two snug fit cheap ‘n’ cheerful clear silicon cases from Amazon before the next iPhone launch, rather than fork out on cases from Apple. I’ve paid them enough as it is ...

Confirmed with my home insurance I have accidental damage in and out of the house so no really need for Applecare.

Thanks guys. I haven’t managed to get a release day phone. Due 24th so shouldn’t be as busy in store.

I went into Carphone Warehouse and upgraded my EE contract and pre-ordered a Midnight Green 256GB iPhone Pro Max, will be trading in my iPhone X 64GB for £430. Should be delivered to store for collection of launch day.

That sounds like a very good trade in price for a 64GB iPhone X. How old is it if you don’t mind me asking. I assume it’s in immaculate condition?

My girlfriend was a contractor with one of the big networks for a couple of years implementing new systems and trying to integrate the old ones (read ‘unpick the mess of’), some consumer, but mainly on the business and reseller side, and frankly I’m astonished any of them ever get anything at all together. A lot of what she told me made it sound like it was held together by the metaphorical equivalent of string, with processes often relying on long term experienced staff who knew how to keep the systems failings at bay.

Of course these key staff would often get hit by the seemingly random job cuts aimed at boosting the share price, often taking indispensable knowledge of undocumented systems with them.

I have no doubt they’re all much the same, perhaps down to 30 years of rather chaotic growth and mergers.

It is true from my experiences... LOL, but I don’t think I have EVER worked in a large organisation that is not chaos behind the scenes.

I've just got off chat with O2. As an existing customer they've offered me this which looks ok until you realise it's a 3 year contract.

I've been with O2 for years now, but this year is the first time I won't be getting the device from them. 3 year contracts will be fine for lots of people, but doubt any of those people are on this forum! No upgrade incentive after 12 or even 24 months AFAIK either.

Been reading this thread since the beginning so thought about time I signed up and joined in.

I ordered an 11 Pro in Midnight Green for delivery on the 20th.

Had already got the Apple clear case shipped to me but courtesy of this thread I’ve returned that and ordered one from John Lewis at the slightly cheaper price for collection tomorrow. I did open it to have a look, its fair bit thicker than previous third party clear cases I’ve had so probably wont use it all the time (had an ESR one for my XS... that went yellow pretty quick)

I went from an X to an XR I didn’t notice much difference to be honest, I ran various videos side by side too.

I did similar, I bought the XS at launch and just didn’t get on with it, I found the screen a bit small so ended up giving it to my daughter and buying an XR which I prefer, screen wise and battery.

That's awful!!! You'd end up paying £1,392 for the iPhone (Cost £1,299) and the airtime package is terrible too - at the moment you can get a sim only deal from them for £25 per month which gives you 100GB per month plus unlimited calls and texts!

Always wonder when Apple actually starts producing and shipping the phones, as they will all come with ios13 yet the GM for that only came out last Tuesday.. logistically is it possible to start producing and get ios13 onto thousands and thousands of phones, ship and deliver them all in 10 days?

I think this is reviewers getting phones.

Also it will be millions of phones, Apple’s logistics are definitely impressive.

I reckon it is possible. They will have it down to a fine art.

Which one do you have that has the kickstand?

Guys, I’m starting to think I maybe should have ordered Space Grey over Midnight Green :(
Someone reassure me that I made the right choice!!

That's what I thought, don't think I've ever been offered anywhere as much for a trade in.

Ive had it for just over a year but got it pre-owned so I'm not sure of the age, decided to try the Note 8 on my last upgrade but regretted it and ended up doing the trade for an X at Game. It was grade A and I have looked after it since.

Carphone warehouse don’t really have grades, just working or non working, they always have the best value I’ve seen and they just refund it to your card in store so it’s quick and easy and no posting your phone.
