So done some rough back of envelope maths if people will find it useful on IUP vs trading in.

I bought the 256 iPhone Pro Max 11 last year

Price: £1299 (oooff, forgotten how expensive it was!).

Paid IUP so far - £69 deposit + 11 payments (£71.45)

If it launches between 22 September to 22 October (which I think it will, it will be 12 payments of £71.45)

=> total payment so far for device: £926.4

left to pay in contract: £71.45 * 8 = £571.6

probably have even less to pay so you can get a rebate for AppleCare (I find it quite hard to calculate this. but its £199 for 2 years, so presuming you get approx £80-90 knocked off?) => approx £500 left to pay to get to "own" the device.

So if you trade it in to Apple, you are effectively "selling" your iPhone for ~£500

Musicmagpie are offering me £685 for it now. That'a a significantly better deal!

JinJin, how did you find the process of settling early? Simple/straightforward? Part of me also wonders if selling early will have any impact on your credit score.

Bigger question of course overall is if the 12 if even worth it to be honest - looks like the only real difference will be the physical design. Quite bummed at the lack of 120 Hz display according to Kuo. I really couldn't care less about 5G.

hi.. the process has been easy enough every year I've done it. pay off phone with Barclays and then call apple and ask cancel apple care and get refund of what's left. In your case if you have 8 IUP payments left you will get back (£199/20)*8 = ~ £80

I'd imagine they will have to release iOS 14 so iOS 7 will work. If this article is correct then they will have to release iOS 14 today because the watches will be available from today. However, I've not been involved in the iOS 14 beta and don't know how close it is to GM?

Yeah, but it was a brand new product and needed a lot of hype & hysteria to push the product at £999. Now it's the norm. All trusted leakers and those in-the-know are saying there's a delay, which makes absolute sense.

Don't get me wrong, if it's announced today with pre-orders from Friday then great. I can't see it though.

does anyone think we might get a surprise and get some info about Apple Glass ? i did see one article earlier in the summer quoting we may get info about it this autumn with a possible release next year although most other articles have said probably more like 2022 for the release.

2 hrs is alot if its just apple watch ipad air and new ipad add in apple tags perhaps expansion of apple card to more countries and services ie apple one that all could last about 2 hrs IMO

My S4 still going strong so no new watch for me this year! My original iPad Air 2 is also still working beautifully so no new iPad for me neither.

But - that blue iPhone is looking tempting......!!!

No, my S4 SS is fine, so no need to waste money on something with just a few more sensors.

My shopping list is pretty stacked for Q4. iPhone 12 Pro, Xbox Series X, PS5 and maybe an ARM based iMac/MacBook Pro...

Happy with my space black titanium. Looks like a design change next year which might tempt me.

Then again, better battery life actually allowing sleep tracking ( my battery usually wiped in 24 hours) might also tempt me.

Depends on price for me and how much I can get for my S5 Cellular - I am still in contract with EE. Not sure how much mine would go for.

Edit: MM offering £240 - not sure if that's good or not
