I seen this the other day, thing is I've been with them about 6 years now with no issues at all. Don't really like any of the other networks
they are probably the best network in the uk for coverage i'm also not sure when 5g will be introduced in my area probably sometime next year. if you want a relaible service then EE is probably the best at the moment.

be careful with EE they are introducing new charges each year 3.9% plus cpi

the annual increase is to give customers certainty in these worrying times it says no its because inflation will be very low for the forseeable future.

Its either EE or o2, all the other networks have subpar coverage in my area, but I’m not surprised they got rid of the plans completely 😂 thought it was funny, shows how much an impact it will be when iPhones ship with 5G.

so what have EE done exactly with "the plans" ?

o2 in my area is pretty abysmal one of my local masts is on pvt property which means it can takes weeks for something to be fixed. its been going on for afew years now with constant connection problems.

the problem is i get that connection through work and theres no way getting any other network unfortunately.

EE-er here, poised to Early Upgrade from my iPhone 11 (my trade-in will more than cover it) to either the Full Works or the Smart iPhone plan.

I can’t ever seem to get approved for iUP, so this will be a good alternative.

I’ll be going 6.1”, probably non-Pro unless they surprise us with 120Hz on the Pro models (or some other killer feature we haven’t heard about).

Whether I go for Full Works or Smart iPhone will come down to what the Apple One prices are like, because at least those are more flexible. 🤔

EE Done the most horrible thing is introduce CPI increase they even removed unlimited sim deals only package not just that and a 600gb data usage limit.....

So anyone wants unlimited data FUP 600GB/5G only available with expensive handset plans...

I use Three. I’ve noticed a couple of 5g towers go up in my area but when I look at the coverage map on the Three website the radius of the coverage area looks pitiful! 😅

Welcome back!

Saw this code ‘LAUNCH10’ that give 10% additional but only to a max of £25 on music magpie
Thanks for this @Jinjin used the code on my series 3 Apple Watch. Might be able to get more via eBay in the coming weeks but I’ve been using watchOS 7 throughout the summer so I’m a little stuck. This should buy me some time for a buyer to have iOS 14 in place. Guess we’ll find out tomorrow.

Interestingly, t&c’s now state you have 21 days to sell tech via Music Magpie (up from 14 days last year)

Never saw the 21 days! Happy days if so.

Did lock in my pro on the weekend in case!

16.6 b) is particularly important for anyone going down this route. Needs to have passed inspection by day 21. Probably best to aim for 14 as there will no doubt be a backlog of devices during the busy period

So I have a couple of chips on my phone screen... have Apple Care so can relatively easily get it sorted for £30. Have people found chips to be issues (ones that you can feel on the screen - but no cracks) when sending to music magpie or returning to Apple with IUP?

I'd have thought iUP would have you pay the £29 or whatever it is with Apple Care + to fix it, depends on the person you are dealing with at the store. Music Magpie will probably try and rip you off.

So done some rough back of envelope maths if people will find it useful on IUP vs trading in.

I bought the 256 iPhone Pro Max 11 last year

Price: £1299 (oooff, forgotten how expensive it was!).

Paid IUP so far - £69 deposit + 11 payments (£71.45)

If it launches between 22 September to 22 October (which I think it will, it will be 12 payments of £71.45)

=> total payment so far for device: £926.4

left to pay in contract: £71.45 * 8 = £571.6

probably have even less to pay so you can get a rebate for AppleCare (I find it quite hard to calculate this. but its £199 for 2 years, so presuming you get approx £80-90 knocked off?) => approx £500 left to pay to get to "own" the device.

So if you trade it in to Apple, you are effectively "selling" your iPhone for ~£500

Musicmagpie are offering me £685 for it now. That'a a significantly better deal!

JinJin, how did you find the process of settling early? Simple/straightforward? Part of me also wonders if selling early will have any impact on your credit score.

Bigger question of course overall is if the 12 if even worth it to be honest - looks like the only real difference will be the physical design. Quite bummed at the lack of 120 Hz display according to Kuo. I really couldn't care less about 5G.

They used to sell 5G sim only plans but have now removed them so you can only get 4G sim only plans. I was anticipating a price hike but they’ve re-upped that idea. It’s not a bad idea to get people to go into full contracts with them but hey ho.

I doubt they know anything now, the days of o2 being close to Apple are long gone. It could be the Apple watches.

So if no iPhones are mentioned but the watch is released does that mean iOS 14 will need to be released for watch OS 7
I'd imagine they will have to release iOS 14 so iOS 7 will work. If this article is correct then they will have to release iOS 14 today because the watches will be available from today. However, I've not been involved in the iOS 14 beta and don't know how close it is to GM?
