Hey!

This is my first ever release day ordering of any device ever!

I've gone through the steps for approval. Took a pic of my licence and also a selfie to prove its me and it says its awaiting approval.. could take from a few minutes to 24 hours!! Typically how long does such a thing take? I did similar with my note 9 and it was instant via another provider. But im a barclays bank holder of 20 years so its not like I'm a stranger haha

I'm concerned now I'll not get my originally chosen collection.

Amazon has cancelled my iPhone 12 Pro order so looking like others should also receive the same.

Hoping it's just a glitch... It's showing as approved everywhere else and confirmed for pickup, only Hold in the app. Imagine their site is slammed right now

The website shows it as preparing your order and payment info received so here's hoping

Me too! Always worth a go.

On the upside, according to the Apple Store, I'll be collecting 3 12Pros in Edinburgh next Saturday. Tried the customer service number to cancel, but couldn't get through.

Guys, I think I should stop paranoid. Yes, app is not working well and showing on-hold. I just checked the PC browser and it says to check in at Apple store on 23rd Oct. no trace of order being on-hold.

Hmm, mine is showing as Arrives but then no date

My email says delivers Fri 23 Oct by Express Delivery but my order pages just says "Arrives". Only got my confirmation email at 13:04. Any chance it could slip?

I just realised, the bloody staff will clap when I go to pick up early in the morning on launch day aren't they? Good thing I'll be wearing a mask!

Loved the iPhone 4 launch queue at Trafford Centre in 2010. Two queues, reservations and those turning up on spec. Apple provided a Krispy Kreme donut cart to serve coffee and donuts to everyone in line (I was there around 5.30am), the shortly before opening, the staff all ran out and high fived everyone in line before running back into the store to open up.

Excellent sense of camaraderie in line, and was out the door by 8.15am with my 32GB iPhone 4 (how did my music taste exist in a device so small?!)

Got an IUP appointment this year at 8.15am. Expecting less of the above and more like the Project Wildfire insertion sequence from The Andromeda Strain...

Very smooth. iphone pro blue 128 arrives 23rd. Just had to force close the app and re-open until it came live then it was literally 2 or 3 clicks and done.

if there is one retailer (apart from Apple) that could honour this, it is Amazon. Unlikely, but at least we may get some months of Prime for free.

Went smoothly for me. Collecting my 12 pro from Edinburgh store on Friday.

anyone who ordered from Apple by credit card have they taken payment yet
mine says processing on App but no pending payment so far on the card

They only take payment after the status changes to "Preparing to Ship".

Order in for pick up from Edinburgh store (did that last time, free parking in train station car park and in and out in less than 20 mins)...

Only now I realise the time I've got clashes with plans... Anyone had to change a check in time before...? If I can't make the official time will they keep it until later in the day..?

I'll take any freebies, but I would of course rather have a 256Gb 12Pro for 849 quid.

I agree, if anyone can honour it, it will be amazon. Especially how consumer centric they are.

I seem to remember that the reservation is good for the entire day, the timings are an effort to smooth out people arriving over time. I was stuck in traffic for last year’s IUP reservation, arrived 30 mins late & apologising profusely, was told it was no issue at all and to join the line.

I think anything reserved and not collected by the end of the day is added to the stock for walk in buyers and others to reserve. You could always call the store well ahead to time to verify/clarity though.
