I feel pretty sorry for whoever made the Amazon cock up. I would have thought even in that short time, it would result in millions of pounds worth of losses. They are probably now weighing up against potential negative PR.

I did my order as soon as I could on the App (about 1.05pm with confirmation at 1.06pm) for a iPhone 12 Pro 128Gb Blue. neither site nor App was loading for me until then.

No luck for launch day though as I get a "5 - 7 business days" in the status now (it says 26-28 Oct during order)

I think you will still get it between 26-28 Oct. Mine has changed to 5-7 business days but was 26-28 Oct before.

In store-collection activity query:

I will be bringing trade-in of my current iPhone for store collection.
Is it too much of asking if I do the iCloud transfer side by side with new phone in store and wipe the trade-in phone data/iCloud details after?

I suspect given the Covid risks that they’d either have no facility for doing a device to device migration in store or would strongly prefer you to restore from backup (iTunes or iCloud) at home. My wife’s IUP upgrade a couple of months back had one customer/one staff member per table in store, the new device handed over still boxed and then out of the store to setup ourselves at home.

Yh that's the question, I know if it was a different company they would cancel all the orders and suck up the negative press hah. Perhaps we will get a better idea in the next 24 hours.

my order now on hold waiting for the Barclays application approval(which was done Wednesday and approved I have the emails) looks like my delivery date won't be Friday now!!!
It seems everyone has the same message so I am hoping it's a standard 'hold' message. I dont see that 'on hold' message online when I click the order number in my email confirmation from apple.

Might be just a glitch orslow to update the app.

I dont see previous orders either to I am assuming they've done something to their servers to cope with the load

it kept telling me that I couldn't have the collection slot I wanted, so to pick another. Which I did. It has now placed me 3 orders.

The Live Chat is down.

The customer service number is 'temporarily unavailable'.

Absolute **** show.
For many, today has been a shambles. Don't fret though, I'm sure that all systems will be restored later and you'll be able to sort it out.

I managed to complete 2 simultaneous orders. An iPhone 12 Blue 128gb for my sister on my iPad and an iPhone 12 Pro Graphite 256gb via my iPhone.
There were some glitches and error messages but I got there with 2 pickup slots on Saturday just 15 minutes apart.

Not really a biggie mistakes happen, I had a 500 Million PS4 order cancelled due to a error the other year with Amazon

The wife phone has gone though fine using Barclays all there with a Friday delivery date as well

In the app is shows this on my phone but when I log into the store on my Mac by clicking the order number in the email it’s saying ‘arrives’ no date.

The email says the 23rd and shows all the Barclays confirmed payment terms etc

Mine also said 26-28 October during the order process and on the app, got confirmation email at 13:07 with 28 Oct-2 Nov and now says 7-10 days in app...I'm hopeful that somehow it will be 26-28 Oct Good luck.
 
How did everyone do?

iPhone 12 128GB Green secured for release day with EE...

I was at work so couldn’t get away with calling, decided just to screw it and pay over the odds for the Full Works plan because I’ve been toying with the idea of Music/Arcade/TV+ subscriptions anyway (and can never get approved for iUP, so the yearly upgrades are a bonus). Plus I do have quite a bit of loyalty discount saved up. 👍🏻

Held off on the insurance because I want to see what AppleCare+ is like monthly first.

This week is going to be agonising!

Mine has just changed to delivery on 23rd on the Apple website
