I've been trying to cancel my order this afternoon (was ordering on behalf of someone else and they've changed their mind!).

Can't view my order to cancel it.

Also - checked my bank and the amount has been deducted from my available balance - I thought Apple only charged when the phone was dispatched? Hoping this doesn't mean a lengthy wait for the money to return to my available balance

I managed to get a 256GB Blue Pro about 1:10pm. App said confirmed and showing in my account albeit sporadically at the moment. However I haven’t received any confirmation emails - anyone got this with in store pick up orders?

Give it a few hours check the page, you’ll have an option to cancel.

Paid in full for the iPhone 12 128 GB in Blue (though the iPhone Apple Store App).

Completed the purchase via Apple Pay but the money didn't exit my bank account. About a couple of hours later the order said it couldn't be completed because my payment had been rejected.

I was a bit panicked by that so I put my bank card details in again, but they wouldn't verify and it kept coming up with an error message asking me to try a different card.

My bank card expires next month but I've yet to receive the new one, so I was thinking it was either something to do with that or the bank blocking the payment as a security measure (it's not often a payment that large comes out of my account!).

I then went onto my mobile banking app to see that the payment had been taken after all (must have been while I was faffing around with the Apple website frantically), and when I refreshed the order page on the Apple website it seemed to have gone through smoothly on their end too. The order updated from 'on hold' to 'processing' with a delivery date of Friday 23rd.

How strange - I wonder if anyone else had this experience? I'm just a bit overly-concerned that something weird is happening with my bank card (Apple Pay in particular is acting rather weird lately).

Mine did the same when I went back on to order accessorys . Apple Pay said the payment hadn’t gone through. But when I opened my emails I had a confirmation and then the order was showing in the app when I logged back on. I’m glad I didn’t try again!

Ordered the 128GB Pacific Blue iPhone 12 for delivery the 23rd.... then immediately had remorse as I have a 256GB X at the moment. So reordered a 256GB Pacific Blue for store collection on the 25th.

Now in limbo with myself about my storage requirements - which range from 80-110GB.

Received a confirmation order but no notifications on Monzo regarding payment taken. The other two items I bought however have had payment taken.

My wife and I both ordered iPhone today and the bank bizarrely decided to decline my payment. I got a text asking if it was me and to reply ‘YES’ to confirm. I did that and then had to ring mobiles.co.uk to reorder. Luckily it was just paused for further action, so I will still get it on launch day apparently. Seems weird blocking a £379 payment which is quite a small sum of money compared to what goes in and out of my account.

That’s because everyone(including me) are waiting for the mini to launch. That will be the best selling device by far IMO.

I've seen a couple of polls on twitter where I was surprised by how many people appear to be waiting for the Mini (like I am). Interesting to see how it all pans out....

I checked out within 2 minutes of online store opening and it's delivering 28 October only... Very irritated. Got the confirmation email only at 13:11. What are the chances of this accelerating to the 23? Really considering cancelling my order and ordering from Curry's

Have a look through your phone and see where you are heavily using storage.
I did that to mine and I saved about 80GB.
I currently have a 256GB X, but went for the entry level 128GB 12Pro as the most I have used in 3 years of having my phone is about 62GB.
It turns out that I had lots of photos that I never needed, and it turns out that sending things in iMessage and not deleting the data often also takes up a lot of space.

I’m waiting for the 12 Pro Max and I’m wondering about an in store collection to pay in full.

Based on todays experience, what’s the best way to do that? Do I just order as normal and it gives an option during checkout to collect or do I need to go some other way about reserving the phone to collect?

Oh yes the annual iPhone thread has finally come alive!

Between people arguing over the value of 50p, website delays, app store crashes, orders vanishing then reappearing and Amazon charging the same price for all iPhones this is rapidly turning into a classic old school pre order year!

I like it a lot!

I think I might have said last year that I was never using Vodafone again, so at least I’ve stuck to that!

It would have been cheaper to go with their gouging tariffs, than 2 x accidental orders caused by the App, plus an optimistic order of the amazon misprice 😂
