Finally got my other parts ordered, case and wallet: Kinda hate how everything arrives at weird awkward times haha. Why leather wallet is not there until November... is it just because the Max isn't out until then?

has anyone bought sim free from carphonewarehouse? are they worth using? they still seem to have launch day stock- I couldn't make my mind up so I missed out from apple!
I used them for my iPhone X and it was delivered on release day, I was also able to pay DPD to £5 upgrade to pre 9am delivery instead of waiting all day which ive never been able to with apple before

Classic O2 situation - no way to view status of order whatsoever. Just going to have to wait until next Thursday when I hopefully get a courier notification for delivery the next day.

128GB Pacific Blue iPhone Pro

Honestly I would have been fine with a 64GB model still.
Same, think ive used about 40gb of my 64gb 11 pro, everything just seems to be in the cloud, I have about 5000 photos and 250 videos...I have no idea what people do to fill their phones up so much!

But £50 less on last years price for 128gb, can't complain! (well I could but still..)

I’m waiting for the 12 Pro Max and I’m wondering about an in store collection to pay in full.

Based on todays experience, what’s the best way to do that? Do I just order as normal and it gives an option during checkout to collect or do I need to go some other way about reserving the phone to collect?
You have two options. You can order from the website and select "pickup in-store", payment will be taken before release day. Or you can reserve an iPhone and pay in-store using this link, it mentions "iPhone Upgrade Programme" but historically once you arrive at the store you can pay in full.

I think I would have gone for the mini this year had the specs been on par with the Pro phones. I could definitely manage with a smaller screen and use it more comfortably but I’m also a whore for new features.

iPhone 13 Pro Mini next year? If only. ☺️

Seems like Apple are having some system issues - customer service phone line is have technical problems, can't view my online order (says there's an error), live chat doesn't connect to anyone hmm..

Been trying to cancel my order and had an email through saying it was cancelled and I wouldn't be charged..

...but just checked my bank balance and the amount has been deducted.

Hello fellow 11 Pro upgrader, are you on the yearly upgrade cycle as well?

I just realised, the bloody staff will clap when I go to pick up early in the morning on launch day aren't they? Good thing I'll be wearing a mask!

At a socially acceptable distance of course!

Anyone know how long before the 'charged' amount returns to your bank balance if you cancel an order?

Placed it at 1pm, cancelled the order at around 2.30pm, bank balance has been deducted £799, had an email half an hour ago telling me it had been cancelled and I wouldn't be charged but the amount is still shown pending/deducted from my available bank balance.

Have a look through your phone and see where you are heavily using storage.
I did that to mine and I saved about 80GB.
I currently have a 256GB X, but went for the entry level 128GB 12Pro as the most I have used in 3 years of having my phone is about 62GB.
It turns out that I had lots of photos that I never needed, and it turns out that sending things in iMessage and not deleting the data often also takes up a lot of space.

Yeah I’ve been doing that - 3.1GB of Message media. Then a chunk of music I rarely listen to anymore.... I’ve enjoyed not managing media with the OTT storage allowance this last few years, so it’s whether that convenience is worth £100 over the 3/4 years I’ll have the device.

I had that for the iPhone 4 release. I tell the story every year.

Queued up overnight outside the Manchester store - sixth in the queue. Mine was a straightforward debit card purchase so I was the first one out. Staff, people queueing outside and even a couple of journalists lined the route and cheered.

I think I was supposed to hold up my new device and wave it about. I stuck it under my coat, put my head down and legged it.

For those interested you can still get a launch day delivery or collection with CPW, and if you trade your phone in they are adding £50 to it

Example: 64gb 11 Pro gives £505 + £50 at the moment which is a very good price considering everyone has dropped theirs now the 12 has been announced.

It’ll be a pre-authorisation, like most card charges will be at the moment. It depends on the bank and the vendor but it’s always been around three days for me. I’ve seen it take up to a week though.

It depends on your bank. If I order something from Amazon and then cancel it sometimes the refund is immediate, sometimes it takes 2-3 days, depending on which card/bank I used.
