I just realised, EE phones are locked for 6 months, which means I'd have to carry two phones as I currently have an EE e-sim and Three card sim.

So regrettably I cancelled, I don't want to carry two phones. Seems daft they're selling a dual sim phone that's locked.
I'm glad I buy unlicked, for this very reason. It just sounds petty.

I was on the iUP. I had about £480 left.

Sold my iPhone to Plunc for £585. Got a refund back on my appplecare for about £90. (These figures aren’t exact, haven’t got them to hand)

Made about £195 by not using the iUP! I couldn’t believe it!

Fair enough it’s a bit inconvenient. I did the 24 month finance through the app this time and I got a 9th November delivery date (couldn’t get on the store until 13:05) and I’m having to use a battered old iPhone 8 until my new one arrives but for the sake of nearly £200 I think it’s worth it.

It is easier just swapping in store on the iUP but £200 is a lot of money to miss out on. I also wanted to avoid the stores if I could. Especially as there are mentions of lockdowns etc!
Thanks, I’m just trying to work out. I think if I pay Oct one then I’ll have 7 payments left which is £300ish, that’s with AC+ as well though so maybe less.

On the Apple app they seem to be giving £420 trade in at Apple. Not sure if you can do a trade in for IUPor not.

If so then wouldn't it be better to do this and take next week and trade in and start again on a new IUP?

How do I find out exact figures? Is there a log on or phone number?

Would I still be able to go in as pre-ordered for IUP and change it as such? Do Apple give credit to use against the IUP?

Thanks

I used to sell my 1 year old iPhones on eBay and did quite well. It’s a jungle out there though and it’s full of scammers. If you’re confident that you can handle them, don’t delay.

Actually I placed the order and my quote is valid for 14 days £346, so as long as they receive the phone in 14 days time I get £346

Thanks for this... just seen that my local store had the charger and case I was after. Just bought them with a pickup slot in an hours time. Delivery is show 3 weeks for the chargers etc for me.

No worrie. I’m glad to be of help. As I was there to pick up my 20W charge plug I thought I would try my luck and see if they had the MagSafe charger in stock and luckily they did. If anyone has any accessories on order with delivery dates that are quite late it’s worth checking to see if there is any in store stock.

Yeah I never usually buy phones from carrier, but the 20% perk and MM buying my old phone looked great. It took a while to realise of course that I couldn't use my other sim for six months in the phone. It's a shame but it's not like I'm struggling with this ii pro

Those orders will most likely get cancelled. Amazon usually adjusts the price to the actual price before shipping.

From what I've read, it seems incredibly unlikely these will be honoured. Your contract isn't until they send the dispatch email, at which point they actually charge your card.

The only thing that makes me a tiny bit hopeful is that Amazon are pretty new to selling Apple products, and cancelling pre-orders for the biggest tech product launch of the year is hardly a good look, especially when some people will be selling on their phones and potentially have to wait weeks until they come back into stock. They might decide to suck up the cost.

Woohoo, looks like EE confirmed my order and then lost it! (They still managed to take my early upgrade fee off me, though!)

Looks like that’s my release date dreams dashed.

PSA: EE upgraders, try your order on the order tracking, if it doesn’t come up, get on live chat to them and double-check!

Of course. They’ve every right to a cancel. I’m sure the weighing up the PR costs as we speak. In the meantime, if they don’t honour my order, nothing lost.

Does anyone know how long apple hold a store pick up?
If I order a case now will they hold it until Friday?

may pop into an EE store on Friday too as fancy a new 5G tariff. Can’t do it online as I’m on holiday at the moment so need the sim straight away

Guys, having a dilemma. Want to leave virgin mobile and go with another provider instead because of network coverage and reception. Any recommendations? ideally want to get the 12 for around £40 pm. Thanks

Have you used price comparison websites?

Just so you know, Virgin I think currently use EE, but are moving (or may have moved) to Vodafone, after they signed a big fat 5 year deal last year.

Just be aware that those networks may not be a good idea to move to, although it's best to check which one they are currently using (and obviously avoid).

[Edit] - It's EE currently, Vodafone from end of 2021: https://www.which.co.uk/news/2019/1...one-mobile-network-what-does-it-mean-for-you/

Why do I keep checking my order expecting there to be any change from “Processing”?? The next stage is “Ready to Pickup” so I know for certain there will be no movement for a week yet here I am refreshing the order page.
Same here! Are we hoping it says ready to collect sooner? Lol

One thing I have noticed with them is the fact that it switches over to 3G when I’m on a voice call which i find annoying as it limits my speed if I’m doing something else at the same time. Other issue is that the plan is split into a loan and air time which i just want to avoid going forward. I find Vodafone’s coverage pretty good as I have another phone that uses their network.

Yep , three price matched a deal for a separate upgrade yesterday from Uswitch.

How do you check how long you’ve got? I did mine last night on music magpie but it doesn’t say how long I’ve got to send it.

Bring on next week cannot wait till track these phones ordered the iPhone 12 Pro 512gb in Silver renewed my EE price plan took the deal on live chat this morning £14 100gb 5G data sim been with EE since 2017......:)

I was about to say thanks for the tip, but going all the way back to activation mode doesn’t sound so good.

Did you manage to sort it all out reasonably quickly?

I do like the idea of porting the number straight away though.
I forgot my password, so had to reset it from my Mac. In the end I got there, in all honesty it didn’t take that long in the shop. I don’t know why I went into Activation mode, may have accidentally pressed something as I was taking the sim out.
